The Role

About the role

The purpose of the role is to lead the successful delivery of ELBA’s Evolve Project, delivering employer-supported volunteering projects that meet the needs of the communities of Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Haringey, and expectations of the corporate partners.

About Coram Voice

We run a range of children’s rights projects, including providing advocacy for children in care, care leavers, children with disabilities and homeless children, as well as other children and young people in need of the support of Children’s Services.

At Coram Voice we have a wealth of experience advocating on behalf of young people with disabilities, and recently expanded our work with children with disabilities through our Disability Outreach Project. We work side by side with some of the most vulnerable children and young people in society and reach out to those who have missed the support they need. About the Role

You will:

• Provide direct advocacy support to children and young people with disabilities, in and on the edges of the care system. You will hold a caseload, and be committed to championing the rights of these young people, working with a broad range of other stakeholders and agencies to do so.
• Support with developing the quality of services and projects delivered by Coram Voice to children and young people. This includes under Coram Voice’s Disability Outreach Project. It is an exciting time to join this project, which has recently expanded to include educational advocacy in addition to social care focused advocacy.
• You will support in the promotion of good practice across both Coram Voice and external organisations, building equitable and inclusive practice across the sector for children and young people with disabilities.

Our advocates will have relevant experience with children and young people, and may hold a suitable Advocacy Qualification. For the right candidate, we may also be able to offer this post as a Trainee position, and offer support to gain qualifications. The salary offered will reflect the candidate’s experience and skills.

Our Youth and Play Practitioners will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as a core team of practitioners to ensure the smooth running of our programmes and services. In this role you will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities, both from Tulse Hill Adventure Playground and within local schools. The work of the Children, Young People and Families team is diverse and varied. Our current services include open access adventure play and youth activities at our Adventure Playground, school holiday programmes with off-site trips and activities, coaching in local schools, a Young Leaders programme offering paid work experience to young people, and working together with our youth partnerships Building Young Brixton and Lambeth Peer Action Collective.

We are in an exciting time of development for the team. To support our range of children and young people, our team will be made up of specialist Youth Workers and Play Practitioners bringing in relevant skills and experience. Whilst you will work across all of our Children, Young People and Families services you will have a specific focus:

As a Youth Worker you will:

• Focus on supporting our secondary age cohort
• Plan and run appropriate activities
• Provide structured interventions to support vulnerable young people
• Work with referral partners to provide additional support and activities

As a Play Worker you will:

• Focus on our primary age cohort
• Use your knowledge of Playwork Principles to plan and run engaging activities
• Foster relationships with families and local primary schools

Both roles will include an element of mentoring, relevant training will be provided to give you the necessary skills to deliver this.

To be successful in this role, you will act as a trusted practitioner in all our service delivery, advocating for children’s right to play throughout our programmes. You will work as part of the team on the delivery and planning of all sessions, ensuring that the children’s and young people’s ideas are central to the construction of a varied and engaging play environment. You will understand the wide-ranging challenges facing young people and will be flexible in adjusting your practice to meet these needs.

The role will lead training for Lifelites 25, our exciting expansion programme, which will take Lifelites’ services to the wider children’s palliative care sector.

You will also be the key point of contact for all Lifelites’ Service Partners, including Children’s Hospices, specialist education and other community services, helping to build strong relationships and maximise the use of assistive technology across children’s palliative care.

The role will design, develop and deliver the multi-channel Lifelites Learning programme by providing training for staff across children’s palliative care in person, online and through e-learning. 

In this role, you will:

The Transformation Hub Manager will play a pivotal role in reshaping our service offerings by creating a vibrant, inclusive, and strengths-based hub for our communities - many of who are underserved, including asylum seekers, refugees, residents facing isolation, and those affected by homelessness. You will lead on the delivery and successful management of our National Lottery funded RenewALL Hub, transforming our ideas from concept into a sustainable, impactful centre for community wellbeing. Central to this role is continuing to drive the shift from a crisis-led service model to a holistic, strengths-based approach, ensuring the RenewALL hub empowers Newham residents to connect, grow, and thrive. A major part of this transformation will be designing and delivering a wide range of new activities and services. London Support Programme - Prison Caseworker

Location: This programme is currently delivered at HMP Downview and HMP High Down. Future delivery is anticipated at HMP Standford Hill, HMP Ford, and/or HMP Coldingley. Administrative tasks may be carried out remotely from home, or from our London office, near Vauxhall.

Contract: 12 months, with the possibility of a permanent position thereafter, subject to funding availability

Hours: Part time, 28 hours over 4 days

Role summary

The London Support Programme (LSP) is a pilot service delivered by the Hardman Trust, providing pre- and post-release support to people on long sentences who are returning to London. This first year of delivery has enabled us to begin offering support, and we are now refining the programme for its next stage.

We are recruiting two part-time, Prison Caseworkers to deliver frontline support, ensuring that people serving long sentences continue to receive consistent, personalised help in preparing for release and rebuilding their lives.

As a Prison Caseworker, you will provide one-to-one, person-centred support focused on wellbeing, confidence-building, and preparation for life after release.
You will support people to set meaningful goals, connect with services, and problem-solve challenges along the way.

The role involves building trusting relationships, promoting the programme across the prison, keeping accurate records, and contributing to the continued development of this pilot into a sustainable, long-term service.

You will be managed and supported by the Head of Service Delivery.

Core responsibilities

• One-to-one support delivery – Provide tailored support to people in prison signed up to the LSP, including initial support planning, goal-setting, problem-solving and referrals to both internal (e.g. Grants, Research Volunteers, Penfriends) and external services.

• Remote support – Provide light-touch support to LSP participants released from prison, during their initial weeks of resettlement, using telephone/video calls, and email to check in, offer guidance, and help address early challenges.

• Service promotion – Actively promote the LSP within pilot and potential partner prisons to increase sign-ups and engagement.

• Administration – Keep accurate, timely records of support activities and outcomes using Salesforce and NOMIS systems.

• Service development – Support the Head of Service Delivery by contributing learning and feedback from frontline delivery, to inform the ongoing refinement of the programme model and resources.

• Collaboration & team contribution - Work closely with colleagues to promote products and services, gather and analyse user feedback, and ensure continuous improvement. Contribute to organisational reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.

• General - Participate in regular one-to-ones, contributing to the identification of objectives and professional development goals. Work in line with the Hardman Trust’s values, actively contributing to a culture of learning, reflection, team work and development, ensuring quality in your work. Undertake other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the role, as may be reasonably required by the Hardman Trust.

Essential:
