The Senior Youth and Play Worker will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as the senior practitioner and ensuring the smooth running of all our programmes and services. In this role you will be part of a small and dynamic team which delivers a wide range of programmes and activities, both from our adventure playground and within local schools.
The work of the Children, Young People and Families team is diverse, and current services include open access free play and youth activities at our adventure playground, school holiday programmes with trips and activities outside of the playground, coaching in local schools, our Young Leaders programme offering paid work experience to young people and working with our youth partnerships Building Young Brixton and Lambeth Peer Action Collective. You will ensure these services are appropriately scheduled, monitored and reported on whilst working with the Head of Children, Young People and Families to plan and deliver service improvement. You will understand the wide-ranging challenges facing young people and will be flexible in adjusting your practice to meet these needs.
To be successful in this role, you will act as the senior practitioner in all our service delivery, advocating for children’s right to play throughout our programmes. You will lead on the delivery and planning of all sessions, ensuring that the children and young people’s ideas are central in the construction of a varied and engaging play environment. The Role
Our influencing work is changing the UK conversation about domestic abuse, with both national

As our Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you’ll lead impactful policy initiatives that align with our mission to end domestic abuse and to ensure support for the whole family, preventing harm, reducing risk and supporting recovery. Working closely with our Head of Public Affairs and Policy, you’ll develop strategies which will amplify our voice and the voice of survivors, and deepen our policy engagement, particularly in relation to multi-agency work, health and family justice.
You will be joining the organisation at a pivotal moment as the new Government makes an explicit commitment to halve VAWG in ten years, including planning a new strategy and a number of new Bills to support this mission This provides an unmissable policy development and influencing opportunity to ensure that SafeLives’ priorities for improving the response to domestic abuse are taken forward by Government.

About the Role
This position represents a significant moment in Pact’s history. Our current Director of Services, after many years of dedicated leadership, will be retiring. Responsibilities Include:
- Leading and inspiring our delivery teams, supporting them in providing effective, compassionate services in the face of challenges and growth.
- Driving systems integration initiatives across Justice-Health-Family-Social Work sectors to improve multi-disciplinary collaboration and health outcomes.
- Championing the voices of those we serve, particularly the families and significant others of people in the justice system, to foster patient and public advocacy.
- Working closely with HMPPS and NHS Justice-Health commissioners and providers to ensure the inclusion of families and caregivers in the system.
- Supporting Pact’s growth plans, managing an expanding budget (from £7m in 2022 to £11m today, with projections of £13m by 2027), and ensuring financial sustainability and operational excellence.

We seek a candidate with:
- Recognised and relevant professional qualification, post-graduate, and up to date registration in a related healthcare field (e.g., forensic, counselling, and/or clinical psychology, nursing, or occupational health)
