Salary

Key responsibilities
Supporter Engagement
- Respond to supporter enquiries via phone, letter, email and social media in a timely and professional manner, and with professionalism, empathy and attention to detail.
- Triage enquiries, referring complaints, safeguarding and safety matters to the specialists in the organisation and escalating other enquiries as needed to subject-matter experts.

Problem-solving and complaints handling
- Investigate and resolve low-level issues or complaints, liaising with other colleagues as required and keep supporters informed throughout the process.
- Handle complex technical enquiries related to our digital tools such as app, website, insight hub.
- Manage feedback and complaints, following established procedure with a focus on turning negative experiences into positive ones.
Volunteer support
- Provide training and support to key volunteers, such as Membership Secretaries, helping them to attract, welcome and retain members.
- Provide support to office volunteers, ensuring they feel values and supported to carry out their tasks effectively.

- Input into new digital development to ensure supporters receive value, and to minimise pain points

Working with our staff, cadets, and volunteers, we have built a vision and five-year strategy to take us forward and further improve the astounding contribution already made through our work to the lives of thousands of young people and seafarers, while fully supporting our volunteers who are vital to our success.
We are currently looking for an OTW Project Assistant who will support the delivery of the On The Water project at one of our boating stations in London. The project provides young people from outside Sea Cadets, age 9-14, the opportunity to get on the water, learn new skills and build confidence through boating activity. This is a very varied and rewarding role that requires someone who is self-motivated, inspiring, organised, creative, tenacious, positive, IT competent and with a real interest in people with a attention to detail and real enthusiasm for the project.
Project delivery takes place between 29 July 2024 and 30 August 2025 when the young people will be attending boating sessions. During this busy time the Project Assistant will be based at the boat station each day to complete registration, manage group change overs, track project targets, encourage survey completion and fill booking gaps. Prior to delivery the role will be focused on supporting the booking process and engaging in community outreach. Once delivery is complete, the Project Assistant role will then predominantly be supporting the evaluation and data collection as well as supporting participants to join their local Sea Cadet unit.
Key Responsibilities
- The welcoming and registration of participants for the On The Water project
- Collecting and uploading daily statistics and figures that show how the project is progressing
- Making new and repeat bookings
- Talking to participants and their parents/carers about the opportunities within Sea Cadets
- Managing a waiting list and reducing drop-outs
- Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of participants alongside the Boat Station staff
- Ensure that participants complete surveys to share their experience of the project and encourage adults to feedback on their young people’s experience

Spires was established as a response to homelessness in the late 1980s. Initially providing a hot meal, clothing, and advice to those who came for help, Spires has developed into an organization that provides a range of services, including day centre style drop ins for homeless people, a Women’s drop in, a Refugee drop in and outreach targeted at supporting Women who are sex working.

I am working exclusively with one of London’s most iconic attractions, which is looking to appoint a permanent People Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Manager (DI&B), paying £42,000 per annum. My client welcomes over 3 million visitors annually, connecting artists, makers, and thinkers to a wide range of audiences. They host a number of events each year that combine the arts and education worlds. It is an exciting time to join the organisation as it goes into its 25th year as a charity, and they are in the process of rolling out their new people strategy and new learning management system. They currently have around 135 full-time staff and up to 200 casual staff working at any one time.
Located in the heart of London, close to several excellent transport links, restaurants and shops, you will be part of a small but high-achieving people team where you will lead and implement their Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DI&B) roadmap. The role also requires someone with an HR generalist background who can help deliver the wider People Team objectives. The charity offers hybrid working, going into the office 3 days per week.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Leading and implementing their DI&B roadmap, ensuring strategic goals are met.
- Working closely with the Head of People to integrate DI&B best practice into policies.
- Establishing a framework for their DI&B values, ensuring they are integrated into all areas of the organisation.
- Supporting the design of their DI&B training programs, including workshops, e-learning modules, and facilitated discussions.
- Supporting the People Team on employee relations cases when required.
- Being a trusted point of contact for HR queries, recruitment, onboarding, performance, and pay.
- Supporting the Head of People to drive initiatives which include wellbeing, employee engagement, retention, and development.

This is the ideal opportunity for a CIPD-qualified (Level 5) HR professional with a background in both HR and DI&B. You will be the focal point for everything DI&B within the organisation, and the role will allow you to use all your knowledge and expertise to help drive forward DI&B.
My client is looking for a data-driven professional who can build excellent relationships across the organisation, building trust and rapport with diverse groups. The ideal candidate would have a background of working in either the arts and culture or charity sector.
The interview process will consist of two interviews. The first interview will be held on MS Teams, and the second will be held in person at their office.
