New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating our weekly rota, line managing the team, overseeing our Locums, Students and Volunteers programme, supporting with donations and day centre stock, and delivering staff training . Job Purpose:

The Institutional Funding Manager will play an important role in SHA’s institutional income generation activities. Working closely with assigned country teams, the post-holder will support pipeline development, lead the development and writing of high-quality bids, donor engagement, and positioning for contract and grant opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical for this role.

French and/or Portuguese language skills are desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Proposal development

• Identify, research and advise on new funding opportunities.
• Coordinate proposal development for assigned countries/donors and cross-organisational teams to respond to funding opportunities.
• Contribute to meeting departmental financial and non-financial (volume and quality of proposals) targets.
• Develop and oversee proposal development timetable; coordinate inputs; write and edit content; provide quality assurance on fit with donor priorities; ensure compliance with internal review and approval procedures; ensure timely submission; and follow up with donors for feedback.
• Facilitate proposal consultation meetings, prepare summary presentations and develop meeting notes.

Donor Strategy Alignment, Engagement and Relationship Management

• Support donor strategy to maximise relationships and funding from donors through: meeting donors and cultivating contacts; creating and maintaining strategic account plans; liaising with colleagues across the organisation to coordinate donor meetings and briefings; and writing capacity statements/quality statements for specific donors. 
• Maintain up-to-date information on donor priorities, strategies, regulations and activities pertaining to SHA’s strategic plan.
• Ensure relevant staff including senior management and Country Directors are briefed on donor activities, through the preparation of briefing notes and maintaining up-to-date information on our management information system.
• Provide advice to Programme Department colleagues on donor policies and priorities, in order to support overall donor strategies.
• Maintain and report on donor relationship and income pipelines on a periodic basis. 
• Manage relationships with assigned funders to build effective long-term partnerships.

Programme Funding Team and Miscellaneous

• Work with colleagues within the Programme Funding Team, and across the organisation, to improve the standard of proposal and report writing and donor relationships, and ensure funding opportunities and contracts are managed according to donor requirements.
• Coordinate the timely review of grant agreements to signature
• Add and maintain opportunities, donor records, files and time records in the organisation’s management information system.
• Provide capacity development and training in programme funding and bid writing to colleagues.
• Contribute to Programme Funding Team reporting.

The Legacy and In Memory Lead will work closely with the Individual Giving Lead to ensure appropriate coordination of planned activities involving existing and prospective individual giving, legacy and in memory audiences. The post holder will also work closely with the HODAR to help inform the development of departmental strategies.

The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising and developing in memory products. You will have experience in using a variety of on and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to both acquire and develop donors. You will have demonstrable experience of managing targets and income and expenditure budgets.

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Safeguarding Manager to join our growing team and own our safeguarding processes end to end. This is a crucial role to ensure the safety of the young people we work with and that In2scienceUK provides a safe environment for all.

This role is part time and contract based and would be ideal for someone who has significant experience of safeguarding and child protection law, as well as experience

in carrying out safeguarding audits, implementing safeguarding processes for both in person and online offers, as well as internal and external safeguarding training.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and audit existing safeguarding practices and procedures throughout the organisation.

• Manage and deliver a plan to improve practices and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and guidance.

• Produce safeguarding policies, codes of conduct, and any other documentation needed to meet our commitment to safeguarding.

• Design and deliver effective in-person and online safeguarding training and guidance for trustees, staff, volunteers, partners and beneficiaries.

• Provide safeguarding support and guidance for our volunteers and partners, particularly concerning work experience placements and mentoring.

• Manage safeguarding concerns and disclosures as they arise, and escalate concerns in line with our safeguarding policies including making external referrals. 

• Ensure that our safeguarding records and processes are in compliance with Child Protection Law and GDPR regarding the processing of data and acting as a data controller.

• Responsible for fostering a culture of ‘safeguarding first’ across the organisation and with our volunteers, ensuring that our activities are designed with safeguarding embedded. 

• Stay up to date with all legislation and guidance on Safeguarding, child protection and protecting Adults at Risk within locations In2scienceUK operates and provides a single point of contact for this support - currently England, Wales and Scotland with ambition for future expansion.

• Support with the development of any policy, guidance and practice that relates to safeguarding our stakeholders, e.g. the legal status of work experience hosts, health and safety, DBS checks.

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

• Level 4 safeguarding accreditation.

• Strong existing knowledge of safeguarding and child protection laws in England, Wales and Scotland.

• Experience of implementing safeguarding processes to online, in-person and residential programme delivery designed for young people 16+.

• Experience of designing and delivering relevant training appropriately tailored to different audiences.

• Experience of working across departments and with trustees to produce appropriate processes and policies.

• Experience of dealing with being the first point of contact for complex cases for both children and adults at risk and making necessary referrals.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Enterprise and Sales Manager to drive and develop Clean Break’s commercial income generation, maximising the income potential of our building and expertise through an ambitious hires and training programme.

You will bring experience of driving commercial business in the cultural or charitable sector, with skills and knowledge of either launching new products or achieving success in breaking into new markets. You’ll have excellent client relationship skills, with experience of converting interest into sales and may have found success in brokering lucrative corporate relationships in a non-profit setting.  

You’ll have a strategic approach to sales with experience of achieving targets and will be skilled in monitoring and analysing finances to develop concise reporting and sales projections.

You will be pivotal in securing new business for Clean Break’s training and hires offers, delivering strategic marketing plans and driving lucrative relationships with cultural organisations and businesses.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. You should be exceptionally well organised and have excellent partnership management skills.

Salary: £37,024 - £41,600

A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to manage the delivery of our EDI programmes and have a real impact on the participation of underrepresented groups in our programmes, as well as building on our established position within the skills sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience in developing, managing and evaluating senior stakeholder relationships with external networks. With a proven track record of consistently delivering projects and programmes with high-quality results, the successful candidate will have up to date ED&I knowledge and demonstrable experience of raising the profile of an organisation within this setting.  The candidate will be experienced in development of programmes and partnerships to suit delivery of strategic objectives, and be able to project manage internal colleagues to deliver against set KPIs.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working within a charity that focuses on developing young people from all backgrounds, and will have the experience, knowledge and understanding to drive forward EDI in external facing programmes.

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead, develop and deliver WorldSkills UK’s external Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) programmes supported by stakeholder engagement strategies across our network of industry, education and government. The role will ensure that we engage external stakeholders to help deliver our ambition to be a leader, partner and ally in creating positive change for ED&I in the skills sector.

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Deliver positive action activity for change:

• Support the development and delivery of WorldSkills UK’s external ED&I strategy. Ensure it is fit for purpose, has recognised long term goals and will deliver measurable change, reflecting organisational priorities around increased engagement with ethnic minority groups and females. Provide an overarching framework and help further develop strategic KPIs for our ED&I work, ensuring effective use of data, monitoring progress and performance.
• Work with the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager to develop action plans that will drive our continuous improvement:
  • Support our skills competition development programmes to increase the diversity of young people engaged
  • Support the development of role models to showcase the impact of our work and encourage diversity in key areas of industry, including future priority skill areas
  • Support the development of learning resources that aid engagement with underrepresented groups
  • Support teams to ensure ED&I matters are considered and addressed as key components of all strategies, plans and programmes.

2. Manage the ED&I Advisory Group:

• This is a unique opportunity to work with experienced and prominent senior individuals from across education and industry who are invested in driving the agenda for ED&I.
• Lead the administration and ongoing development of our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Group.
• Engage the Group to help support, advise and challenge WorldSkills UK on its actions to remove obstacles and barriers faced by young people from under-represented backgrounds in our programmes.
• Report regularly to the Group on progress against KPI’s and facilitate reports for the WorldSkills UK Board.

3. Project Manage the ED&I Heroes Awards

• The Awards is an established flagship event which provides a platform for WorldSkills UK to celebrate success with its partners, amplify best practice and inspire others to drive change across the skills systems in education and business.
• Project manage delivery of the annual Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Heroes Awards, supported by relevant internal teams
  • Establish the nominations process
  • Co-ordinate the judging panel
  • Organise the awards ceremony
  • Manage the support of the awards partners.

4. Manage strategic relationships

• Manage a portfolio of ED&I focused Strategic Partnerships with organisations from across the skills sector, facilitating their support and engagement with our EDI programmes.
• Grow our network of partners to widen our reach, help further drive work in this area and collectively impact on the sector.
• Advise and support the development of the CEO’s international activities on ED&I with WorldSkills International (WSI).

5. Raise the profile of WorldSkills UK’s ED&I work:

• Work with teams across the organisation to support our Mission to ignite a national and global movement to help more young people, regardless of their background, get the best possible start in work and life.
• Support the Senior Strategic Partnerships Manager and Marketing and Communications Team to showcase the impact of our programmes:
  • Help to externally profile and articulate the value and impact of our activities using the channels and tools available
  • Seek opportunities to advocate for our work through stakeholder engagement and networking
  • Support the Corporate Partnerships team to identify and secure commercial income related to our ED&I initiatives.
  • Work across the organisation to build on existing external relationships and develop new strategic partnerships that reinforce our position as a skills sector leader.

6. Internal ED&I Liaison:

• Whilst not responsible for WorldSkills UK’s internal ED&I activities and agenda it is anticipated that the post holder will spend up to 10% of their time supporting and working with the Corporate Affairs team on internal ED&I matters, with the remaining 90% spent on external work.
• It is not essential that the postholder has extensive experience in this area.

7. General

In addition to the key tasks and responsibilities set out above, all employees at this level are expected to:

• Produce requirement specifications in line with WorldSkills UK’s procurement strategies for all outsourced activity.
• Maintain WorldSkills UK’s established management policies for dealing with risks and issues for the Corporate Partnerships team and the wider organisation.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.

Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.
