Individual Giving Manager (Acquisition)

Play a vital role Crisis’s flagship Christmas appeal — and turn that momentum into year-round supporter growth.

We’re looking for an ambitious acquisition specialist to lead Crisis’s sector-leading Christmas appeal — one of the biggest and most recognised in the UK charity sector — and to build on that success by driving sustained, year-round growth in our supporter base.

You will oversee integrated multi-channel acquisition campaigns across DRTV, digital, print and direct mail, and spearhead new face-to-face fundraising trials to help us identify scalable routes to reach new audiences. With a clear focus on data, insight and test-and-learn, you’ll capture the power of Christmas to recruit and inspire supporters who want to stay with Crisis for the long term.

Individual Giving Manager (Development)

We’re looking for a talented supporter development specialist to lead Crisis’s year-round retention and stewardship programme. You’ll take the incredible wave of engagement generated through our flagship Christmas appeal and turn it into deep, long-term relationships — inspiring supporters to stay, give again and give more all year round.

Using insight and creativity, you’ll deliver multi-channel communications that strengthen loyalty, increase lifetime value and make every supporter feel part of our mission to end homelessness. You’ll work closely with our Acquisition, Mid-Value and Legacy and Supporter Experience teams to embed a truly supporter-first approach, ensuring every interaction feels personal, purposeful and powerful.

Individual Giving Manager (Legacy and Mid Value)

About the role

As our Senior Marketing Manager - Retention & Engagement, you will strategically lead the team responsible for the £34 million existing supporter income stream and work closely with and the wider Supporter Marketing Team and teams across Communication and Fundraising to maximise Supporter Lifetime Value.

In this role, you will:

• Own and deliver the strategic priorities for Supporter Engagement and Retention, holding accountability for the £34 million income target and the maximisation of Supporter Lifetime Value.
• Provide direct line management to a team of five specialists, leading the strategic prioritisation and delivery of the entire retention portfolio (Appeals, HV, Email, Stewardship, Magazine).
• Lead the annual and long-term budget planning process, driving accurate forecasting and optimal resource allocation for the retention function.
• Design and champion the omnichannel Supporter Journey roadmap, ensuring a unified, personalised experience that strengthens supporter loyalty and engagement.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Retention Strategy & Income Accountability: Proven track record of managing a significant income stream from existing supporters, demonstrating success in reducing attrition and growing supporter lifetime value.
• Leadership & Budget Mastery: Experience in leading and managing a small, high-impact team of specialists, coupled with expertise in annual budget planning, forecasting, and reforecasting.
• Engagement & Digital Expertise: Deep expertise in developing and optimising complex supporter loyalty programmes and automating multi-channel journeys, including proficiency in email marketing.
• Collaboration & Influence: Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to build strong senior-level relationships and drive alignment across Fundraising and Communications teams.

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Experience managing or overseeing Mid-Value Donor strategies within a mass-market context.
• Prior experience working in the Non-Profit or International Development Sector.
• A professional CIM/IDM Qualification (or equivalent).

Job Description

This role reports to the Head of Transactional Finance. The jobholder is one of three people working in the Accounts Payable Team, which is part of the Transactional Finance & Systems function. The Transactional Finance & Systems function is responsible for:

• recording and processing the financial transactions required to support the operations of ABRSM and its subsidiary ABRSM (Publishing) Limited and to enable it to meet its statutory obligations
• the provision of timely and accurate financial management information to departmental budget holders and to the ABRSM's committees.
• Management of the Accounts Payable Team including monitoring the volume of work and allocation of work to two Accounts Payable Assistants, ensuring that deadlines are met and accuracy is maintained.
• General review and oversight of the work carried out by the Accounts Payable Assistants providing leadership, support and training in Accounts Payable procedures as required.
• Ensuring all incoming Supplier invoices are shared between AP assistants and processed for authorisation daily.
• Ensuring Examiner fees are processed for weekly payment runs as set out in with ABRSM's payment policy.
• Ensuing Examiner and HLR expenses are processed weekly for payment.
• Ensuring Suppliers are paid in accordance with their payment terms and ABRSM's approval process.
• Resolving Supplier and Examiner queries, reconciling statements, and building strong relationships
• Ensuring bank Direct Debits relevant to supplier invoices are processed monthly before month end.
• Processing staff Barclaycard applications and maintaining expenditure limits.
• Meet with new staff to explain ABRSM's approval process before being given system access.

- Be Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or Part qualified on final stage

- Have a strong understanding of charity accounting principles, including SORP

- Have experience of managing financial ledgers, systems and processes

- Have strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, and the ability to manage large amounts of data

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Counsellor

We are seeking an experienced BACP accredited Counsellor to join our friendly counselling team at the UK’s leading support charity for people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD). You will provide professional psychological support to adults through a series of regular counselling sessions to help bring about effective change and improve client wellbeing.

Based remotely, or working in our office in Alton Hampshire, you will deliver sessions by telephone or online, working with clients facing challenging issues. We'll provide training to develop your knowledge of the impact of kidney disease as well as CPD opportunities, regular internal case reviews and shared learning sessions

As the Supporter Engagement & Legacy Manager you will play a key role as we seek to reignite our legacy marketing programme and grow overall individual giving income to help ensure long-term support for those facing financial difficulty. You will be responsible for the project management and implementation of all supporter engagement activity, acquisition, and legacy marketing activities, ensuring all activity is optimised and campaigns include enhanced digital and social media content.  

Reporting to the Co-Heads of Supporter Engagement and managing the Supporter Engagement Officer, you will develop a multi-year plan to rebuild legacy income and a pipeline of legacy supporters, including re-engaging the EFH care home staff and major donors.

You will be responsible for supporting the strategic direction, operational plans and effective management of Turn2us’s giving programmes from individuals including appeals, regular giving and legacies, maximising net income from new and existing income streams.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing direct marketing campaigns in a charity environment as well as proven ability to manage successful legacy marketing campaigns. They will have significant experience stewarding individuals and legacy supporters and be adept at communicating the impact of donations, as well as having line management experience. The ability to make a strong case for supporting Turn2us’ key areas of work is crucial, as is an aptitude for proactively increasing acquisition and retention rates.

The post holder will also be a self-starter who is comfortable building new strategies from a relatively small pool of supporters and is experienced testing different tactics to establish the best practice for Turn2us.

Person Specification 

• A practising Christian who is passionate about personally representing the Christian values of Resurgo and committed to Resurgo’s mission to inspire and equip organisations to bring about ambitious and sustainable social change.
• Excellent relationship building and proposal writing skills. Experience in Trust fundraising or an equivalent field is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent people skills, able to relate well to colleagues of all seniority levels as well as external stakeholders.
• Well organised and efficient; calm under pressure; able to juggle competing deadlines and priorities, splitting time across multiple projects.
• Confident with numbers and interpreting project budgets. Some knowledge of Trust fundraising is desirable.
• A desire to grow and develop, able to receive and give feedback confidently as well as share their ideas with the team.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Provide tailored, high-quality stewardship to a range of large and medium-sized Trusts & Foundations.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and build relationships with new Trusts and Foundations to further grow this income stream.
• Prioritise research to constantly develop future pipeline.
• Work with Head of Philanthropy and other senior stakeholders in engaging potential funders and managing strategic Trusts partners.

Write applications and reports

• Develop compelling funding applications for Trusts and occasionally statutory funders, articulating Resurgo's vision and strategy to persuasively engage new donors with a focus on raising five and six-figure grants.
• Stay ahead of sector trends, media, and political context to market Resurgo's interventions in a compelling way.
• Develop general communications on the work of Resurgo to inspire and update our Trust audience.
• Produce reports and updates on the impact of our work for funders in a timely manner. 

Data Management and Monitoring

• Update our internal database (Salesforce) with all donor interactions, donations and other details in a timely and efficient manner and with strong attention to detail, and analyse data to give insights' and drive future activity.
• Manage the Trusts & Foundations pipeline and report on income and other KPIs, and ensure Trusts & Foundations team meets monthly targets and deadlines.

Line Management

• Actively manage and develop the Trusts & Foundations Executive to help them grow personally and in their role.
