Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Work with the Board of Trustees to set and deliver the charity’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Communications and Networks will amplify The Politics Project’s voice, build strategic partnerships and strengthen collaboration across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You will lead on communications, stakeholder engagement and the continued development of the Democracy Classroom Network.
You will oversee a team responsible for communications, partnerships and events, providing leadership and guidance to ensure clear messaging, impactful storytelling and strong, coordinated engagement across the sector. The post holder will combine strategic thinking with strong operational delivery, managing both the external profile of the organisation and the networks that underpin its reach and influence.
Key responsibilities include:
Communications
- Develop and lead The Politics Project’s communications strategy to raise visibility and strengthen reputation.

This is a fast-paced senior management role in a small but growing organisation. The post includes a six-month probation period and is fixed-term until March 2027, with the potential of extension depending on funding. Occasional travel within the UK and some evening or weekend work will be required.

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled IT Systems Administrator.
As the IT System Administrator, you will be responsible for the development, administration and optimisation of Cruse’s Microsoft 365 environment and wider IT cloud infrastructure.
Working closely with the Head of IT, and the wider Digital Services team of 5 staff, you will ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with the needs of our staff and volunteers.
Cruse operates a cloud IT infrastructure providing IT services to staff and volunteers based across the UK and Northern Ireland. Microsoft 365 is the main IT service, but there will also be other IT systems you will need to become familiar with in this role.
Cruse makes use of a managed services IT support provider and numerous application and service provider support teams; you will be required to work with these teams making sure our issues are resolved quickly and with minimum disruption.
As part of your role, you will be involved in BAU and project work and be comfortable with competing priorities and pressures.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to advance their technical skills and experience. Where they will have input into the development of the IT systems, working with an experienced and dedicated Head of IT and digital team, for a charity that is investing in its digital strategy and services.

Spitfire Advice & Support Services (Birmingham) Limited is not-for-profit organisation that offers help, information and support to clients from the most excluded communities. We are currently funded to deliver our services in Castle Vale Ward and all the Sutton Coldfield post codes. Other funding we have enables the delivery of a number of projects that support our client’s including our Money Advice and Financial inclusion programmes.
Our Money Advice Caseworkers’ support clients who are affected by welfare reforms and have complex welfare benefits and debt issues. The appointee will need to have extensive experience of Legal Services Commission casework in the context of the Advice Quality Standard and will have worked in a target driven environment but who will also understand that people will always be our priority.
Essential Qualifications:
a)Educated to degree or equivalent level or have demonstrable work experience in the delivery of debt and benefit advice.
b)Hold either an IMA (Institute of Money Advisers) qualification or have recent GGDA (Giving Good Debt Advice) training.
Job Purpose
The key purpose of the role is to deliver a first-class specialist debt and money advice service to clients in need of support. ensuring income maximisation for all clients through the take up of appropriate welfare benefits.
