We are now looking for a Head of Fundraising & Business Development to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 35 hours per week.

The Role
As our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will lead efforts to secure and diversify funding, building a sustainable resource base to support our global mission.
Leading the Fundraising and Business Development Team, you will drive the implementation of our resource mobilisation strategy, focusing on increasing non-ODA income and expanding flexible and programmatic funding.
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, finance, research and impact teams, you will help close funding gaps by developing strong donor relationships, negotiating funding agreements and shaping compelling funding propositions.
Alongside collaborating with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and supporting engagement with the Board of Trustees, you will manage systems, data and internal processes that strengthen fundraising performance and ensure effective delivery.
Additionally, you will:
- Gather and share intelligence on trends within the funding landscape
- Generate new fundraising ideas and opportunities with existing and new funders
- Support teams to develop fundraising plans, donor scoping and funding bids
- Analyse data to inform fundraising strategies and income generation
- Design and manage internal fundraising support processes and systems
- Oversee the team budget and support staff development and wellbeing
About You
To be considered as our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will need:
- Significant experience leading fundraising functions in an international NGO or charity
- A proven, impressive track record in fundraising
- Experience in partnership and consortium development
- Management experience with the ability to co-ordinate, support, motivate, energise and develop diverse teams
- The ability to design and deliver income-generation strategies across multiple streams
- A strong understanding of the evolving landscape of finance and resource mobilisation for sustainable development
- A strong understanding of policy and research related to sustainable development at an international level, particularly related to Africa, Asia and/or Latin America
- Strong influencing, negotiating, stakeholder engagement and diplomacy skills
- A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
- The willingness and ability to travel internationally

Zoe's Place Baby Hospice was founded in Liverpool in 1995 as the first hospice in the UK specifically providing for the needs of babies and younger children. Our team of specialist nurses and healthcare assistants are supported by a wide range of other healthcare professionals to provide respite care, therapies and bereavement care to babies and children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families.
In late 2024 the people of Liverpool, the North West, and even further afield helped us to raise more than £7,000,000 to secure the future of our hospice, and to build a state-of-the-art new facility in West Derby.
As work begins on our new hospice facility, our dedicated team continues to deliver specialised care from our existing site, and our team of fundraising, marketing, finance, compliance and administration professionals work hard to keep the charity operating smoothly.

The Finance department is a shared services function working across the NCIs to provide a comprehensive, cost-effective finance service to each organisation, and helping to co-ordinate joint projects where appropriate. The team also provides support to, and promotes best practice across the wider Church in relation to financial matters, including monitoring the financial health of Dioceses, Cathedrals, Theological Education Institutions etc.
The Finance team is currently supporting their NCI clients with some major change and transformation projects, as well as undergoing significant changes to their own ways of working to ensure they can deliver a high-quality Finance service which meets the needs of the NCIs. This includes undertaking a Finance Transformation Programme to help Finance develop their service (replacing an ageing finance system as well as associated process improvement and changes to ways of working) and supporting the Church of England Governance Programme which will reshape the National Church Institutions themselves.
As one of two deputies in the team, the Deputy Head of FP&A (Finance Business Partnering) has a key role to play in supporting the management of the day to day cycle of the Financial Planning and Analysis function for a period of 12 months, whilst the Finance Transformation Programme is ongoing and the Head of FP&A takes on a wider transformational role. The role will directly line manage the 5 Finance Business Partners supporting each NCI to deliver core business partnering, management accounting and reporting services. The role will also help to support the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis by leading on business-as-usual including any ad hoc analysis requirements, change initiatives and efficiency and process improvements to further embed Finance Business Partnering across the NCIs and to bring a greater level of consistency, efficiency and quality to financial reporting and planning processes until the Finance Transformation Programme is complete.
Strong capabilities in leading and line managing a business partnering team will be needed as well as the ability to independently take initiative to deliver on day-to-day operational requirements including setting overall timetables and processes, ensuring delivery of reporting to required KPIs and supporting the development and management of the team.
We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, CCAB or equivalent qualified finance professional with strong experience of people management and leadership skills, to play a key leadership role in the Financial Planning and Analysis Team. The Deputy Head of FP&A (Finance Business Partnering) will directly lead a team of Finance Business Partners (5 direct reports) to provide excellent core financial reporting and planning activities and co-ordination across the NCIs of the budgeting and planning cycle, ensuring the Finance Business Partnering team are well supported to deliver high quality strategic partnering to each of the NCIs.
Together with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis and the Deputy Head of FP&A (Management Accounting and Analysis), you will ensure the delivery of timely and accurate financial planning and reporting processes and annual cycle across all of the NCIs, maintaining consistent service levels and leading on business as usual change, particularly addressing any immediate internal audit change requirements and managing risk of the current manual processes.
You will work collaboratively with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to ensure high quality seamless Finance support to each of the NCIs as well as to a range of projects, programmes and analysis requirements within the NCIs.
You will specifically act to support and oversee the work across the Finance Business Partnering team including developing the capabilities of newer Finance Business Partners and their underlying teams across their work, understanding the business and providing leadership, meaningful financial insight and advice to support the delivery of strategic and operational objectives. You will also specifically support Church of England Central Services (ChECS) and its subsidiaries (CHECS Trading and PGS) to deliver high quality financial reporting and support to the Chief Operating Officer and Board.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will also have highly developed analytical skills, and be able to provide value-added strategic decision support to your internal clients. You will be passionate about delivering best practice and growing a high performing team. You will also promote collaborative working across the Finance department to ensure high standards of service for our customers.

When young people in care turn 18, all the support they’ve relied on can fall away, literally overnight. Suddenly, they have to navigate adulthood on their own. This would be tough for any teenager, even if they could fall back on their family for help. So it’s not surprising that two out of three care-experienced young people feel unprepared to leave care. Too many still don’t get the support they need to make it safely past this cliff edge.
Care leavers aged 18-21 are nine times more likely to experience homelessness than their peers.
Settle exists to change this. We’re an award-winning charity, supporting care-experienced young people as they move into their first home, so they can confidently transition into independent living, avoid eviction and homelessness, and establish the foundations they need to thrive in adulthood. We are on a mission to end homelessness among care-experienced young people.
With our current Head of Fundraising leaving us to go travelling, we’re seeking someone new to help us achieve this ambition. You’ll have a lot to build on. Over the last three years, we’ve grown our income dramatically, and diversified our funder portfolio. We have strong relationships with our committed and supportive funders, underpinned by an organisation-wide commitment to fundraising.

Hours: The hours are full-time (35 hours per week) preferred, with attendance at funder events outside core hours as needed from time to time – part-time will be considered for the right candidate but we envisage at least 0.8FTE / 28 hours per week
Location: Hybrid working between our office in London Bridge and working from home – our standard expectation is at least 2 days a week of contact time (in the office, funder meetings or events). As Head of Strategic Litigation, you will oversee and carry out CPAG’s work using legal cases for positive impact, to benefit families and children in poverty. The ideal candidate will be a solicitor (E&W qualified) with substantial post-qualification experience. You will have experience of conducting public law litigation and legal aid (publicly funded) work. You will be able to supervise the casework of colleagues, such as CPAG’s junior or trainee solicitor(s) and welfare benefit advisers, and support the professional development and wellbeing of your team. Founded by MSers, for MSers, the charity supports many thousands of recently diagnosed people across the world as they make sense of MS. Shift.ms has an engaged, global community of over 80,000 members, driven by people with MS. realworld ms was founded in 2024, realworld ms operates as the industry-facing subsidiary of Shift.ms. realworld ms enables MS stakeholders to draw on real-world evidence to develop products, treatments and services that meet today’s MSer needs.
What we expect from you
Working alongside the Head of Operations, CEO and department heads, your responsibilities will cover Shift.ms and its wholly owned subsidiary, realworld ms ltd, as follows:
Financial management

Be the primary point of contact for our Treasurer, Accountant and External Auditor;

Review and constantly improve processes and internal controls for finance;
-
Lead the development of annual budgets and shorter/longer term forecasts as needed;
-
Manage accounting, budget and cash flow, and working with the CEO, develop cost reduction strategies as needed;
-
Prepare monthly management accounts incorporating variance analysis of budgets vs. actuals and headline narrative;
-
Manage monthly payroll with an external payroll provider;
-
Draft consolidated statutory accounts for audit and lead the coordination of year-end audit;
-
Prepare quarterly VAT returns for the Group and be the main point of contact for HMRC;
-
Make recommendations for corporate gift aid donations based on performance and future forecasts for the subsidiary;
-
Present finance updates in-person at quarterly board meetings normally held in London;
-
Manage and lead FinCom meetings, typically held quarterly;
-
Attend the trustee annual away weekend.
Bookkeeping
-
Lead the financial operations of the charity including recording transactions onto the finance system (Quickbooks), managing cashflow, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, processing of purchase invoices and supplier payments;

Complete month end reconciliations as part of the preparation of monthly management accounts;

Track, calculate and process intercompany recharges to ensure costs sit within the correct entity;

Track and ensure correct treatment and reporting of restricted/unrestricted funds;

Process employee, volunteer & trustee expense claims;
-
Manage the relationship with an external payroll bureau, liaising with them to ensure payroll is processed accurately and paid on time;

Support employee onboarding including obtaining details for payroll and pre employment checks.
Other

Collaborate with senior stakeholders on projects and reporting;

Track income receipts and projections for weekly income generation calls with heads of department;

Process gift aid claims;

Process incentive payments for realworld ms participants;

Renew insurances.
Qualifications, skills and abilities (E= Essential D = Desirable)

Be part or fully qualified with a professional accounting qualification ACCA, CIMA or ACA, with at least 2-3 years post qualification experience. (E)

Salary: £40,000-45,000 dependent on relevant expertise

Objective:
2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.
Aims:
- Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
- Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
- Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families
2wish Cymru and 2wish:
2wish has been established since 2012 and has since grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.
We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.
We were founded as a Welsh organisation providing immediate casework support, as well as ongoing aftercare services including counselling, alternative therapies, play therapy, support groups, support events and a respite cottage.
In January 2024, we expanded into ‘phase one’ England, namely Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. And in July 2025 we expanded into ‘phase two’ England, namely Merseyside, Devon and Cornwall, Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Context of role:
The Headof Finance & Business Services will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for ensuring the charity is financially sustainable, legally compliant and operationally efficient.
This role provides strategic oversight of finance, governance, HR, IT, facilities, risk management, and business administration, enabling the charity to deliver its mission effectively and responsibly.
Line management responsibilities, including Business Services Officer and Finance and Administration Officer.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Act as a senior advisor to the CEO and Board of Trustees on financial strategy, organisational performance, risk, and governance.
- Lead on the development and implementation of long-term financial plans, budgets, and business services strategies.
- Contribute to organisational planning, change management, and culture-building across the charity.
Financial Management
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including grants and foundations, forecasting, management accounts, statutory accounts, and cashflow.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance within the Charity SORP, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Lead on financial risk management, reserve’s policy, investment planning, and financial controls.
- Oversee payroll, pension administration, procurement, and contract management.
- Support fundraising colleagues with financial modelling, grant budgets, and reporting to funders.
Business Services Oversight
- Lead and develop the business services function, which include IT, facilities, data protection and health & safety.
- Oversee HR policies, employee relations, recruitment processes, and wellbeing initiatives with the support of our HR consultants.
- Ensure reliable IT systems, digital security, and effective use of Microsoft 365 and organisational software with the support of our IT consultants ITCS.
- Manage the Business Services Officer who oversees office facilities, leases, equipment, and supplier relationships.

Leadership and People Management
- Provide inspirational leadership to finance and business services staff.

Person specification:
Essential
- Fully or part qualified in accountancy or qualified by experience (QBE).
- Proven financial leadership experience within the third sector or a, challenging values-driven organisation.
- Strong understanding of charity finance, including SORP, restricted/unrestricted, designated funds, grant applications and reporting.
- Experience of managing governance, risk, compliance, and business administrative functions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively whilst providing strong challenge and professional insight.
- Demonstrable commitment to the mission and values of 2wish.
- Assist with compliance of the Equality Act, Employment Rights Act / Bill & General Data Protection Regulations.
Desirable
- Experience supporting or working alongside a Board of Trustees.

What we do for you:
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Normal office hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, although alternative hours may be worked with line manager agreement. Work outside office hours may sometimes be necessary and will be compensated for by time off in lieu.
Annual leave: 28 days plus bank holidays. Annual leave steadily increases after five years of service. Annual leave and statutory holidays are calculated on a pro rata basis where applicable.
