Role Summary
Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.
Reporting into the Head of Resources & Planning, this role provides the opportunity to join a Development operations team in driving forward the exciting, ambitious and transformational NHM150 campaign. You will have the opportunity to be innovative and proactive, as well as utilise your creativity, project management and organisational skills to oversee donor recognition and ensure we are providing a consistent and best in sector experience for our donors and partners.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Stewardship and supporter journey
- Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Corporate Partnerships, lead the development of a structured, overarching stewardship programme that works across the Museum. Take a supporter journey approach and ensure the programme includes a creative and innovative range of benefits and recognition to foster well-managed, mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with funders.
- Coordinate stewardship efforts and work with colleagues to produce tailored stewardship plans.
- Provide strategic and day-to-day advice and guidance to staff on stewardship.
Funder recognition
- Work with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships departments to ensure a cohesive approach to the funder benefits matrix and recognition and acknowledgement.
- Advise and lead on funder inclusion with event and event material including, speeches, invites and associated thanking moments
- Lead on the creation and implementation of a funder recognition strategy for each major project and giving mechanism, ensuring consistency with the Museum’sdeli Naming and Recognition Policy and including, but not limited to, funder boards and naming opportunities.
- Lead for Development on work with the Design, Comms, Marketing and Digital team to develop agreed frameworks and ‘lock-ups’ for the NHM’s brand and visual identity. Create agreed procedures to ensure sign-off by all parties which is effective and well-communicated.
Communications and reporting
- Support colleagues in researching, writing and producing high-quality impact reports for funders in line with Deeds of Gift, contracts and other agreements.
- Support the creation of the Museum’s Annual Review, Annual Report and similar impact reporting; ensuring appropriate funder recognition.
- Manage the annual Season’s Greetings cards creation and distribution
Other responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with a diverse group of Museum stakeholders, to ensure stewardship plans and activities are successfully coordinated and delivered.
- Responsible for oversight of Supporter Cards for key Development supporters, working with the Database team to create and distribute.
- Develop a strong knowledge of sector best practice through networking, benchmarking against comparable institutions, identifying and undertaking training and development opportunities, and where appropriate implement these best practices at the Museum.
- Record essential information accurately and appropriately, using Development Group systems and the Raiser’s Edge database. This includes tracking agreed and live negotiations for funder recognition and commitments on major projects.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Significant experience in a fundraising / funder management role, or similar project management experience
- A strong working knowledge of the role of stewardship in the not-for-profit or cultural sectors, with the ability to initiate and manage stewardship activities.
- A proactive, positive and creative approach to stewardship, with the ability to recognise and create relationship-building and strengthening opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both face-to-face and through written material such as letters, reports and visual presentations.

As a member of the newly formed Development Team, you will lead on supporter engagement for the School and its’ Students through effective fundraising communications and year-round event delivery. You will support prospect communications, and assure best-in-class stewardship of donors while enabling delivery of rights and benefits to Centenary sponsors and partners.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
This role will assist with day-to-day management of Royal Ballet School’s fundraising work to support retention of recurring income from existing streams and facilitate the onboarding of new donors.
Reporting to the Development Operations Manager, the post-holder will assist with the planning and delivery of a large number of year-round engagement events through in-house visits and performances, external events and ticketing management for centenary performances. This role will lead on all fundraising communications to donor and prospect segments, and oversee campaign tracking, while relying on accurate data use and record keeping. The role will also support the administrative processing of ad-hoc Legacy request donations.
MAIN DUTIES
Fundraising Communications:
- Lead on communications for the Team, segmenting prospects and donors, ensuring they receive regular and tailored emails
- Oversee key termly campaigns, sponsor reports and videos, event invitations and summer performance comms
- Use Dot Digital to send communications and securely hold and update donor contact information
- Work closely with the School’s Communications and Marketing department to advance design and content briefs as required.
Event Planning & Delivery:
- Attend annual School calendar planning meetings
- Manage delivery of approx. 35+ in-house donor visits to Upper School and White Lodge all year round
- Support the delivery external events for existing donors as well as cultivation events for prospects
- Coordinate performance invitations, attendance and hospitality at Opera Holland Park, Linbury Theatre, and the Royal Opera House and other third party venues
- Log and track all event invitations, RSVPs and attendance through the CRM
- Work closely with the teaching staff to coordinate any activities that are student-facing.
Donor Data Stewardship:
- Support the Donor Relations Team to administrate and deliver benefits to a portfolio of donors, sponsors and partners
- Work alongside Artistic, Academic, and Operational colleagues to ensure best Donor Experience
- Develop skills as an integral member of the Development Team in nurturing relationships with internal departments and external individual donors and trustees
- Keep accurate contact data and record keeping for the wider team reporting and monitoring needs
Legacy Gift Administration:
- Administrate Gifts in Wills from Legators working with executors and families and coordinating timelines for income with the Finance team
- Work with the team to build the ‘in memory’ programme for the School’s Centenary and ensuring subsequent ‘In-Memory’ benefits are delivered.
General Support:
- Support the Development Operations Manager and Head of Donor Relations with the evolving needs of the Development Office, as it seeks to grow income and impact in 2026 and beyond.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Criteria:
- Willing to work collaboratively across all functions of the department and wider School
- Daily working knowledge of Windows PC systems and Microsoft Office programs
- Minimum of two years administrative and operational experience
- Experience in maintaining and managing a contacts database
- Experience of working in a non-profit or charity fundraising environment
- Confident and well presented with strong relationship management skills
- Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing

Key Responsibilities
Supporter Care and Engagement
· Frontline Supporter Engagement: You will be the first port of call for our supporters, managing inbound communications across phone, email, and various digital platforms.
· This includes warmly handling enquiries, taking and processing donations, and escalating complex issues to ensure a seamless and positive experience for everyone.
· Creative Communications & Gratitude: You will take the lead on thanking our supporters and making them feel valued.
· This involves drafting personalised acknowledgements, finding creative ways to share the impact of their support, and sending welcoming messages to new event participants.
· Collaborative Team Support: Act as a key support pillar for the Public Fundraising Team, especially during peak times and events.
· Your role will be dynamic, involving everything from on-the-day event assistance to managing logistics and taking ownership of specific fundraising activities.
· Digital Community Management: Help us maintain a vibrant and supportive online presence by monitoring shared inboxes and assisting with the moderation of our social media communities during key campaigns and fundraising challenges.

· In person support for several key owned events and other organised events each year, outside of core business hours as needed, for example – by supporting our London and Brighton marathon teams on the day (time off in lieu will be available).
Supporting Public Fundraising Campaigning and Administration
· Provide essential administrative support across the Events, Individual Giving, and Major Donor fundraising teams, contributing to the efficient operation of campaigns and activities.
· Work collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely processing, logging, and acknowledgement of incoming donations and fundraising income.
· Perform data entry tasks, including setting up new regular gifts, and creating and updating communication records within the CRM system (Access CRM).
· Support the administration and stewardship journeys for fundraising events, assisting with tasks such as registration support, participant communication, and logistics administration.
· Provide surge capacity support during busy periods, particularly for high-volume activities like Facebook Challenge moderation and campaign-specific administration.
· Assist with the preparation and mailing of supporter communications, appeals, and stewardship materials.

It's an exciting time to be joining this team, as they bed in a new data strategy and look to increase their internal data presence and explore ways of adding insight to their action.
As the person flying the data and technology flag, you will take accountability for leading two teams in maintaining, upgrading, and developing their external tech suite offerings so that they can improve their donors' and supporters' experience and communicate effectively with them. You will lead a team of four, coaching them to continue their development as a highly effective team that helps direct the organisation through the insight they offer.
You will collaborate with colleagues across the campaigns department to ensure that together you can have maximum impact and raise maximum income. You'll also develop strong relationships across the organisation, helping to truly understand and implement the needs of other teams.
About You:
You're an experienced tech leader with a track record of managing digital platforms and data systems in a fast-paced environment. You're passionate about using technology for good and thrive on solving complex problems with creativity and clarity.

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £33,000 - £37,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Implement and evolve the Individual Giving strategy across acquisition, retention, mid-value, and legacy giving.
- Collaborate with agencies and internal teams to develop compelling donor journeys and integrated campaigns.
- Lead on mid-value donor engagement and legacy income initiatives.
- Analyse supporter data to optimise performance and reduce attrition.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Proven experience in Individual Giving, with an extensive track record of managing successful fundraising campaigns.
- Strong understanding and delivery of supporter stewardship.
- Proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and social media trends in fundraising.
- Passion for the mission and values of BBC Children in Need.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Experience working with external fundraising agencies.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and data selection processes.
- Understanding of legacy fundraising and mid-value donor programmes.
- Knowledge of GDPR and fundraising compliance.

Campaign Planning & Data Selections Officer
Contract type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. Full Time, 35 hours per week
Location: London, UK subject to the right to work.
UK Hybrid Working: A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in London office, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid. WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base.

About the Team
The WaterAid Data Selections team works with stakeholders across the entire Fundraising directorate. This is a great role to quickly learn how charities use data for their fundraising communications.
About the Role
As our data savvy Data Selections Officer, you will update and write SQL scripts to enable WaterAid UKs fundraising mass communications, and champion our supporter’s experience ensuring supporters receive communications that are relevant to them.
In this role you will collaborate with stakeholders across Fundraising, interpreting their data requests into SQL scripts, and work closely with the Data Engineering team to update our data warehouse as the organisations data requirements evolve.
You’ll also:
- Review current SQL scripts and optimise them
- Work with teams on setting up, and updating our supporter journeys
- Advise stakeholders on using data effectively, creating variable outputs or segmentation for testing
- Work closely with the Analytics team, implementing their findings and collaborating on propensity models
- Champion data quality, and work with relevant teams to constantly improve the data in the data warehouse.
Requirements
The successful applicant will have a keen eye for detail and be able to interpret natural language data requests into complex SQL queries.
To be successful, you’ll need:
- Experience of writing SQL syntax, including the creation of views, stored procedures and processes.
- Good knowledge of data protection legislation and its application.
- Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.
Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:
- Experience working in a Fundraising or charity environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of a data warehouse.
- Previous experience using a CRM system

Woman’s Trust is the leading independent charity providing free and confidential mental healthcare to domestic abuse survivors throughout London and the South-East. As we approach our 30th anniversary, we are committed to ensuring every woman and child affected by domestic abuse has the mental health support they need to recover from the trauma of the abuse. Our work is vital in preventing further harm and breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma.
This role is vital in ensuring that the public and key stakeholders understand the impact of our work; that we can generate more support and funding for what we do, helping more women as a result; and that we can influence the public and policy-makers to ensure even more survivors of domestic abuse have access to specialist mental health support.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering effective communications that reach, engage, motivate, and resonate with media, clients, fundraisers, and policy makers across a range of channels.
We are looking for someone with a strong news sense and experience in Press and Public Relations. You will have a demonstrable background of proactively getting organisations involved in the public conversations that matter – while reflecting the confidential nature and sensitivities around domestic abuse and mental health. We aim to proactively generate more awareness of our work and its impact, including our unique position in the women’s and mental health sectors.
The role will be responsible for proactive and reactive media relations; effective engagement on social media; developing engaging content for our website; drafting copy for and producing marketing materials, including our e-newsletter. A highly autonomous role, you will work closely with our Chief Executive, fundraising, counselling, and research teams. You will also be engaging regularly with the Board of trustees, supporting our Chief Executive in our work and mission.
Our ideal candidate would also have experience of working on press and awareness campaigns; and the ability to create content on social media in line with branding guidelines. Experience in developing communications strategies and reporting on Key Performance Indicators would be preferred.
