Head of fundraising jobs

Based in our Philanthropy Team in Fundraising, the postholder works with our clinical, estates and governance teams creating compelling proposals to secure mostly restricted income. If you have great digital competence, including the use of AI to summarise information, are an excellent storymaker able to understand an audience, quickly synthesize information and pitch in writing for success, or an early-career fundraiser ready to develop, in this role you will make a difference and work as part of a creative successful team. Understanding how to keep our ask fresh and steward these relationships is key.  You will inherit a portfolio of trust and grant funders who have committed support over the long term and a portfolio that delivers at least £180k in income each year. You will work with colleagues on well-established campaigns like The Big Give and support experienced volunteers who handle small grants. This role has space for innovation to secure new funders and uplift existing contributions.

Rasing Funds:

· Ensure an inclusive, engaging and best-in-class experience for Trusts and grant makers

· Manage an annual rolling programme of applications and multi-year funding reporting requirements. 

· Deliver medium, large and complex bids for unrestricted and restricted income to ensure success to an income level of at least £150k to fund initiatives including for example: direct delivery of care, volunteering initiatives, new routes into work for protected groups, equipment and capital projects.

· Robust and regular research of funding opportunities, new trusts, and wider horizon scanning to identify a broad base of opportunity to refresh and renew the pipeline of prospective funders

· Steward existing trust donors, finding opportunities to cultivate and grow the relationship.

· Be a visible accessible presence across the hospice, encouraging colleagues to share and develop their own ideas to raise funds that you and/or trust and grant volunteers can take forward and or support the team generating the ideas to do so.

· Attend our Clinical Assets Meetings and restricted funding meetings

· Generate social media posts consistent with Hospice content standards and GDPR and hard and soft copy information to inform and promote the impact of supporters, this includes video/reel thankyou messages.

Communication

· Prepare and submit high-quality, tailored grant applications to secure funding for specific projects and core activities

· Maintain and develop relationships with existing trust and foundation donors

· Be the first point of contact for trust and grant funders and supporters and, for colleagues internally who have questions/queries or have an interest in this area of funding

· Manage a pipeline of prospective funders, ensuring timely follow-up and tracking of application statuses

· Help to create and deliver moments of stewardship that are personal to each funder, show the impact of their support and inspire them when they can, to have an on-going relationship with the charity.

· Be volunteer team leader recruiting volunteers to support your role, ensuing they are inducted and supported. As the wider team help ensure all volunteers feel supported when their respective team leader is away.

· Identify opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the Hospice to maximum benefit for the charity.

· Be an outstanding advocate for the Charity and represent the Charity at functions and events, in line with the values of the organisation, to promote the objectives of the Charity

Digital/Business Administration

· Provide routine and regular reporting on progress, advising on risk/mitigation to ensure the annual target is met

· Enter and update donor information on the CRM ensuring compliance with the GDPR and Data Protection Act.

· Ensure CRM (Donify) records and preference information is up to date and accurate at all times, including recording interactions with supporters

· Ensure all word documents are securely saved and accessible to colleagues on Sharepoint. 

· Ensure you comply with all aspects of statutory and mandatory training for your role and through your individual performance deliver on jointly agreed objectives and goals that help to deliver the business of the charity.

Katherine Low Settlement is a busy, local charity that has been serving Battersea and the wider Wandsworth community since 1924. We are dedicated to building stronger communities and enable people to challenge and find ways out of poverty and isolation.   

We run a range of our own community services to support local older people and children, young people, and their families from refugee communities. We campaign for social change. We incubate and support other charities and social businesses to thrive. Each week we work with 30+ charities and community groups supporting more than 1,000 people. 

We are looking for an experienced, confident and proactive fundraiser to join our income generation team to raise more grant income from charitable trusts and foundations primarily, along with corporates and other partners. These include local schools and community organisations. Maintaining great relationships with these and other supporters Is a key requirement of this role. A confident self-starter, you will have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Role Purpose 

Working alongside our chief executive (who is an experienced fundraiser), an external larger bid writing resource and heads of programmes, the key objectives are to successfully generate income with grants valuing up to c.£10k in line with KLS fundraising plan and annual budget; develop and maintain relationships, and secure funding from, a portfolio of loyal and prospective supporters. Stewardship, reporting, pipeline and other database management tasks are other key features of the role.

• Drafting and submitting funding bids up to c£10k grant value 

• Reporting to funders and supporting relationships with funders and partners

• Researching and identifying grant funding opportunities 

• Managing bid writing process, including gathering input from colleagues

• Ensuring project reports are completed and submitted to funders on time

About the Legacy Manager role:

The Public Fundraising team are responsible for recruiting and stewarding new supporters in order to secure long-term income and growth. The fundraising team has real ambition to grow and develop, and Legacy and  In-memory giving will form a key part of these plans.

You will lead on the development and implementation of a new Legacy & In Memoriam fundraising strategy that will

We are delighted to be supporting Hand in Hand in their search for an ambitious, confident Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer to join their award-winning fundraising team. You will join a team of eight, including a Head of Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships, three Philanthropy Partnerships Managers, two Philanthropy Officers and a Philanthropy and Corporate Assistant.

This is a Trusts and Foundations-focused Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer role with a mix of responsibilities across family Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Foundations, Wealth Management firms, and HNWIs. It’s a programme-led role and suits someone who is both personable and detail-oriented, excited by co-developing impact with donors through tailored projects.

As Partnerships and Philanthropy Officer, you will:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of family Trusts and Foundations, Wealth Management firms, and HNWIs
• Manage accounts worth $215,000 and drive new business worth $175,000
• Contribute to the team target of $7.1 million
• Develop detailed, programme-specific funding proposals
• Steward existing donors and develop new partnerships
• Build strong relationships with donors based on detailed programme insight

Ideal skills and experience:

• At least 1 year in a fundraising role ideally Trusts and Foundations or Major Donor
• Proven track record of securing gifts of c.$20,000+
• Ability to own relationships and manage a donor portfolio
• Methodical, detail-oriented, confident, and persuasive
• Strong sales and relationship-building skills
• Open to candidates from Corporate or Major Donor backgrounds who enjoy proposal development

This newly created role is part of a strategic restructure designed to strengthen our management team and deepen our impact. As our services have expanded in scope and complexity, we’re dividing a previously broad role Programme Manager) into two part-time positions to bring in more specialist expertise.

As Head of Advice, you will shape the strategic direction of our advice services, ensuring they align with Sufra’s wider mission and are fully integrated into our food aid provision. You’ll be our designated safeguarding lead, support fundraising initiatives and maintain compliance with funder requirements, and lead our efforts to remain a trusted, accredited provider (AQS and IAA).

Working closely with our experienced Advice Service Manager, you’ll also provide strategic oversight of Open ARMs, our programme supporting asylum seekers, refugees, and migrants to access language skills, healthcare, training, and volunteering opportunities—helping them build new lives in the community.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Previous experience in a communications or marketing environment

• Proficient user of CRM systems with the skills needed to manipulate data and deliver reports accordingly
• Working knowledge of scoping e-marketing campaigns – with the support of communications colleagues
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• A proactive, flexible mindset and willingness to support the work of the wider team

Desirable:

• Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe design or other similar platforms

This health charity is in an exciting stage in their evolution. They are four years into a five-year organisational strategy.

The Role

We are seeking a Head of Operations who aspires to be a Charity Director or CEO. They will hold extensive responsibilities for our programmes, delivery, IT, impact evaluation and other key areas. They will have excellent relationship management skills and display great leadership skills.
