Interim Head of Philanthropy
Role Overview
The Talent Set are delighted to partner with this well-known health charity to help them identify a dynamic Interim Head of Philanthropy. This 9 month temporary position offers an exceptional opportunity to lead high-value relationship fundraising and shape the organisation's philanthropic growth strategy, delivering lasting impact for the community they serve. This is a 4 day per week role, with 1 day a week/fortnight in their London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for high-value relationship fundraising, aligned with organisational goals and priorities.
- Lead a team to secure multi-year gifts from major donors, trusts, statutory agencies, and foundations.
- Build and nurture a robust pipeline of prospects from identification through to long-term engagement.
- Inspire, develop, and support team members to achieve fundraising targets, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusivity.
- Design and oversee stewardship programmes that connect donors to the organisation’s vision and impact.
- Advocate for the team’s needs across the organisation to unlock operational support and organizational alignment.
- Represent the organisation externally, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and high-net-worth individuals.
- Optimise the use of Salesforce and other systems to maximise efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to deliver a seamless supporter experience, embedding the organisation’s values.
- Undertake other duties as required to support fundraising and organisational success.
Person Specification
- Extensive experience in securing and developing high-value, multi-year gifts from individual and trust funders.
- Proven leadership ability to inspire and develop teams, with a track record of embedding high standards and fostering a positive culture.
- Strong strategic thinker with excellent operational delivery skills, including pipeline development and donor proposition creation.
- Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and stewardship skills.
- Experience of working with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Comfortable working independently with resilience and clarity, able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Understanding of UK philanthropy trends and sector innovations.
What’s on Offer
Day Rate: £237.15 PAYE + £34.34 holiday pay per day. This is a part time, 4 day per week role with 1 day per week/fortnight in their London office.

The Head of Philanthropy is a fantastic and unique opportunity to lead a global major door programme within one of the world's most respected youth charities. You will be responsible for the strategic leadership and growth of the World Fellowship, the network of high value donors who are passionate and generous about enabling young people to discover their infinite potential. The role combines a healthy mix of strategic development, senior relationship management, and international fundraising at the five and six figure gift level.
The selected candidate will have a proven track record of strategic philanthropy experience, who thrives on building powerful, trust-based relationships with HNWI supporters and senior stakeholders. You will have experience of securing gifts at the five and six figure level and will inspire others through a coaching, empowering style of fundraising leadership. You will be donor centred and will have evidence in your career of designing thoughtful, high-quality experiences that deepen commitment and drive long-term support.
