The Role 

This is a pivotal role within our Income Generation team, leading our high-value fundraising portfolio including major donors, corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, and legacy and in-memory giving. 

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will shape and deliver a strategy and team to build meaningful, long-term relationships and maximises sustainable income, ensuring Farleigh Hospice remains a charity of choice for supporters and partners.

What You’ll Do 

• Develop and deliver a philanthropy and partnerships strategy aligned to organisational goals

• Build and manage a pipeline of high-value supporters, including major donors, corporates and trusts 

Work closely with our corporate fundraiser to secure and develop corporate partnerships, creating compelling engagement opportunities and sponsorship packages 

• Ensure excellent major donor stewardship, delivering personalised engagement and relationship plans

• Oversee trust and foundation applications, ensuring high-quality submissions and reporting 

• Support the growth of legacy, in-memory and tribute giving

• Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team and volunteers

• Use data, insight and KPIs to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For 

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced fundraiser with: 

• Significant experience in philanthropy, corporate or high-value fundraising

• A proven track record of securing major gifts, partnerships or grants

• Experience managing high-value relationships and pipelines

• Strong leadership and team management experience

• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills

• Strategic thinking combined with strong commercial and analytical ability

Charity or hospice experience is desirable, but most important is your ability to build lasting relationships and turn opportunities into meaningful income and impact.

Reporting to the Head of Public Fundraising, you will play a key role in shaping strategy, driving income growth and building a high-performing team that delivers exceptional supporter experiences.

About the Role

As Community & Events Fundraising Manager, you will lead and inspire a dedicated fundraising team, bringing structure, innovation and accountability to the Community & Events function. You will oversee a diverse portfolio of community fundraising activity, mass participation events and special events, while developing clear plans to achieve sustainable income growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a motivated, high performing fundraising team

About You

We are looking for a collaborative and strategic fundraising leader with:

• Proven experience managing teams within a fundraising or income generation environment
• Strong Community and/or Events fundraising experience with a track record of income growth
• Experience managing budgets, KPIs and business plans
• Excellent leadership, planning and organisational skills
• Strong understanding of supporter stewardship and fundraising best practice
• Experience using CRM systems and data insight effectively
• A genuine commitment to the mission and values of hospice care

This role would suit someone who thrives on motivating others, improving ways of working and delivering meaningful impact through fundraising.

Salary: up to £42,000 per annum

The Pepper Foundation is a local charity funding children’s hospice care at home, specialised play and family days for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. 

The Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser will be joining Pepper at an exciting time as we launch our new three-year fundraising strategy. Backed by committed investment and with full Board approval, we are delighted to be growing the charity to deliver sustainable income that directly supports local children and families with hospice care in the comfort of their own homes.

Working closely with the Head of Trusts & Foundations, you will play a pivotal role in increasing income from trusts and foundations by developing and managing a strong pipeline of funders, securing new grants, and building long-term relationships that lead to increased and multi-year support. You will research and prepare compelling applications to both new and existing funders, alongside producing timely, engaging reports that clearly demonstrate impact.

This role requires a highly organised and motivated individual with a passion for writing, strong attention to detail, and the ability to deliver exceptional cultivation, stewardship and relationship management of trusts and foundations aligned with our mission.

Your work will directly support hospice at home care, specialist play services, and meaningful family days out for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions – making a tangible difference to families during the most difficult of times.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week working from home – applicants must live within Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire (or surrounding counties)

Salary: £19,800 per annum for 22.5 hours per week (£33,000 FTE per annum)

Key requirements:

• Work with the Head of Trusts & Foundations to agreed income targets and growth.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of small and medium trusts and foundations (giving up to £10,000).
• Produce high-quality, tailored applications to prospective funders aligned with agreed criteria.
• Prepare meaningful update reports, demonstrating the impact of a funder’s support, whilst ensuring all reporting requirements and deadlines are met.
• Deliver excellent relationship management and stewardship through regular reporting and tailored communications.
• Conduct prospect research to identify and prioritise new trust funding opportunities aligned with The Pepper Foundation’s work.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications on the Donorfy CRM database whilst keeping abreast of GDPR.
• Stay up to date with current trends in trust fundraising.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice, and internal Safeguarding Policies.
• Represent The Pepper Foundation at events as required.

About the job role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Legacy & In Memory Officer to join our Fundraising team at St Joseph’s Hospice. We are looking for someone who has experience in delivering legacy and/or in-memory campaigns and working in a fundraising environment.

The purpose of this role is to manage and grow the legacy fundraising and in-memory giving programmes. This will involve providing exceptional stewardship to supporters to build long-term engagement, managing legacy and in-memory campaigns to reach agreed objectives and building relationships with local solicitors and funeral directors alongside other stakeholders.

Working with the Public Fundraising Manager, the post holder will deliver a strategy to increase income, develop relationships and effectively deliver in-memory events and campaigns.

About you

You will need:

• Experience in delivering legacy and/or in-memory fundraising campaigns
• To be comfortable speaking to bereaved families with compassion and kindness
• Effective communication and planning skills
• Experience of managing activities to budget
