We are looking for a Head of Engagement Projects.  Reporting to the Director of Engagement Programmes, the Head of Engagement Projects will have a breadth of responsibility that is critical to delivering our 2023-28 strategy. Over our strategic period we are seeking to double the reach of our more intensive activities and increase our portfolio of programmes.  As a member of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) you will provide strategic oversight and lead the design, development and iterative delivery of our portfolio of projects to inspire young people into engineering and technology careers, responding to both evidence and need.

About the role

You will be responsible for the design, development and iterative delivery of a portfolio of projects to inform, inspire and support 11-14 year olds to ultimately progress into engineering and technology. Currently, these projects are Energy Quest and Climate Schools Programme which provide in-school workshops, teacher materials and resources for school clubs. You will ensure that these projects and newly developed projects have career messages embedded and respond to both evidence and need ensuring our work responds to the changing needs of young people, schools and industry and specifically has an impact on those currently underrepresented in the industry. You will ensure that the work in your portfolio aligns and links to all EUK’s products and services for schools and build strategic partnerships with external organisations to enhance the design and delivery of the programmes.
 

The engagement projects delivered by your team are dependent on external fundraising, so you will work closely with our Business and Industry team who lead on fundraising, supporting the bid writing and pitch process. You will also work closely with colleagues from across the rest of EngineeringUK, including our evaluation, communications teams, and oversee the management of external partners responsible for delivering the projects.
 

The role is London based at our office at 10 Lower Thames Street, London EC3R 6EN and may involve some travel in the UK. We believe that hybrid working has many benefits and are pleased to offer flexible working with a minimum of 2 days (or 40%) a week in the office and the option for a flexible start and end to the working day in our vibrant central London office overlooking the Thames. About the role

Becoming the Programme Marketing Manager at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women is a fantastic opportunity to help drive progress for women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries by engaging more people in our work.

The key purpose of this role is to effectively market our programmes to participants – chiefly our HerVenture business skills microlearning app and our sector-leading Mentoring Women in Business programme.

This will span three main projects:

· to successfully manage a marketing agency to effectively market the HerVenture app to women in South Africa (as part of a fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Mar ‘25);

· to successfully manage the same marketing agency to promote the app in Nigeria (as part of a separate fixed-term project with active marketing ongoing until Dec ‘24); and

· to effectively promote the opportunity to become a mentor to a woman entrepreneur through our Mentoring Women in Business programme to paying professionals worldwide. Your objective will be to secure 18+ paid mentors for the Nov ’24 programme intake and 20+ for the May ’25 intake.

Following the completion of the two HerVenture marketing projects, you will also lead other programme marketing initiatives in 2025. These will be determined in late 2024.

Following the May ’25 Mentoring intake you will deliver a strategy, harnessing your learning and analysis to outline an approach for marketing the programme to paying mentors in future.

You will also be called on to support other forms of programme marketing on an ad hoc basis, for example advising on development of corporate pitch decks, or co-designing materials for fundraising events.

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications and Marketing, however this is a highly collaborative role and you will also work closely with the Entrepreneurship programmes team and the Programme Funding team to develop and deliver plans and manage projects.

Our ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable and motivated marketer with experience in ‘selling’ professional development / online volunteering opportunities, and in managing agencies and contractors to deliver on fixed projects as aligned to good marketing practices. You should be highly organised and goals-driven, with a collaborative approach, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to harness the power of marketing to support women’s economic empowerment.

· Helpline Support: Responsible for logging referrals and triaging cases, ensuring initial safety advice is given and the service user is directed to the most appropriate service, as well as responding to professional enquiries.

· Facilitating and Co-facilitating Group Work Programmes: This will include facilitating peer support groups and being second facilitator for group work programmes providing support to victims/survivors of domestic abuse, those who have experienced sexual violence and group programmes for perpetrator groups supporting those who wish to change their behaviour.

· Befriending Services: offering support to individuals who have experienced domestic abuse or sexual violence and are still impacted by the trauma of their experiences, providing support and encouragement to enable service users to create independent and fulfilling lives.

· Admin support: Supporting with our admin support teams such as HR support, finance support, covering reception and other tasks as required.

The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with the Volunteer Manager, Head of Fundraising and other Volunteer Coordinators in other FearFree localities.

FearFree is committed to hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for meetings. Travel across Devon is required and occasional travel to our other offices may be required.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

Recruitment and training of volunteers

· Participating in the recruitment of volunteers in both service user facing roles and support roles. This will include advertising for roles, interviewing perspective volunteers and supporting with HR processes.

· Planning and delivering thorough training for all volunteers, dependent on the role they will be completing.

· Ensuring each volunteer continues to develop in their role.

· Liaise with Service Managers and Team Managers to identify roles where volunteers could be utilised.

Service delivery and management of volunteers

· Providing line management support and supervision to volunteers.

· Be point of contact for volunteers to raise concerns and discuss cases.

· Ensure the delivery of a high quality, responsive service to people who have experience domestic abuse and/or sexual violence.

· Manage volunteers to ensure service users individual issues and needs are clearly identified and plans meet these needs including matching volunteers with clients.

World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRFI) leads and unifies a network of cancer prevention charities based in Europe and the Americas. Our shared vision is a world where no one develops a preventable cancer.

WCRFI is responsible for the Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global) which is our global cancer prevention and survival programme focussing on the links between diet, nutrition, physical activity and cancer. Forming the cornerstone of all our work, the project is the only authoritative scientific resource of its kind in the world.

We are seeking a Head of Research Interpretation who will be responsible for managing the delivery of CUP Global. You will chair the CUP Global Secretariat and also provide support to the Assistant Director of Research and Policy and the Director of Research, Policy and Innovation in the oversight and strategic direction of the programme of work. You will also contribute to other projects such as ensuring that the WCRF network has the latest global cancer statistics, including new estimates of the preventability of cancer. 

You will be educated to PhD level, with ideally at least 2 years postdoctoral experience in a research environment, in a relevant area (e.g. nutrition, cancer, epidemiology, public health). You will have a good understanding of public health and epidemiology, nutrition and/or cancer and have experience of conducting and/or interpreting systematic reviews. You will have strong people management skills, with direct line management experience.

The Senior Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager brings expertise in developing influential campaigns, political engagement programmes, and devising strategies to achieve change in Government and NHS policy and practice.

The Senior Public Affairs and Campaigns Manager reports into the Head of Policy and Public Affairs and works closely with the colleagues across Policy, Communications, and Information and Involvement to ensure that Alzheimer’s Research UK continues to be positioned as the go-to organisation on dementia and dementia research. Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Leadership of the Public Affairs and Campaigns team, line managing two Managers and a total team of 4 people.

· Manage the day-to-day budgeting and reforecasting process, with an expenditure budget of circa £100,000, ensuring that the team operates cost effectively in meeting its objectives.

· Build and maintain effective relationships with decision-makers and opinion formers including in Government and in Parliament.

· Develop and deliver a public affairs strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK, working closely with their team, with a range of creative tactics that create pressure, build momentum and drive forward our influence in Parliament and with Government and opposition parties.

Stakeholder Engagement

· Provide leadership to the public affairs team and work closely with colleagues to grow political engagement in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland

Role Purpose

If you’ve answered yes to the above you could be our new Corporate Partnerships Manager, who will contribute to the Fundraising and Partnerships team in a new phase of innovation and strategic fundraising growth for Hatch. You will work closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships to steward our key strategic partners and reach out to new potential partners.

At Hatch we are not limited by opportunities but by capacity. Demand for our programmes is greater than ever, from beneficiaries as well as from corporate and governmental partners. Account Management/ Stewardship

• Supporting day-to-day stewardship of Hatch’s strategic partners including Pizza Hut, UBS, BlackRock and NatWest.

• Review and support on corporate volunteer onboarding.

New Business

• Fully research potential prospects and identify new regional and UK wide partnership opportunities, targeting proposals and making the most of links to develop long lasting partnerships.

• Cultivate potential employer partners, using networking and commercial skills to make imaginative, accurate and timely partnership proposals and applications.

• Support Head of Corporate Partnerships in securing and growing each partnership’s financial contribution covering both a corporate charitable donation and launching new employee engagement/fundraising activities.

Reporting/ Comms

• Write compelling cases for support to engage and motivate new and existing funders.

• Manage Benevity and Donorbox for additional donations.

• Use Monday. com and other CRM systems to record all approaches and delivery.

• Ensure the invoice and impact reporting schedule is clear with written contract agreements in place.

• Support Head of Corporate Partnerships to move partnerships from ‘in year’ renewal to a secure multi year (ideally three) year commitments/ written agreement.

• Work with colleagues to collate and deliver accurate data insights and impact reporting and inspiring story telling collateral related to partnerships.

• Develop the brand ambassador pillar of the partnership, inspiring and engaging employees to want to volunteer and fundraise  for Hatch Enterprise, delivering effective employee focussed events and content for corporate comms internal and external channels.

• Collate and share information for internal and external reporting purposes (i.e. sharing best practice, success stories).

Person Specification 

• Superb networking and relationship management skills, evidenced by experience of New Business Development and Account Management, ideally in the charity sector;
