Transformation Hub Manager

Location: Mainly our head office in E12, but also in other venues around the borough of Newham as directed.

For over five decades, the Renewal Programme has been a trusted cornerstone of the community in the London Borough of Newham, tackling the root causes and consequences of poverty, isolation, and disadvantage.

Role overview

The Transformation Hub Manager will play a pivotal role in reshaping our service offerings by creating a vibrant, inclusive, and strengths-based hub for our communities - many of who are underserved, including asylum seekers, refugees, residents facing isolation, and those affected by homelessness. You will lead on the delivery and successful management of our National Lottery funded RenewALL Hub, transforming our ideas from concept into a sustainable, impactful centre for community wellbeing. Central to this role is continuing to drive the shift from a crisis-led service model to a holistic, strengths-based approach, ensuring the RenewALL hub empowers Newham residents to connect, grow, and thrive. A major part of this transformation will be designing and delivering a wide range of new activities and services. Crucially, the Hub will not just deliver activities for residents but will be co-designed and co-produced with them, embedding lived experience and the voice of the community at its core. Success will depend on your ability to build and lead a coherent, motivated team of staff and volunteers, uniting them behind the shared vision of the Hub. You will work to create a welcoming space that reflects the ambitions of our Open House strategy, where dignity, inclusion, collaboration and empowerment are lived out in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Hub Development

• Lead a team to ensure the successful implementation of the RenewALL Hub project, as submitted to the National Lottery Community Fund, aligning all activities with our “Open House” strategy and theory of change.
• Champion and embed a strengths-based, “advantaged thinking” culture across all Hub operations, actively shifting the focus from deficits to assets.
• Build and inspire a coherent, motivated team of staff and volunteers, uniting them around a shared vision for transformation.

Programme Design & Community Co-Production

• Oversee the design, delivery, and continuous evaluation of a diverse, inclusive weekly programme of activities, informed by community consultation and resident priorities.
• Manage a portfolio of activities that improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and build skills — including health & wellbeing sessions, cultural celebrations, social connection groups, and learning opportunities.
• Facilitate and champion the Community Hub Involvement Panel (CHIP), ensuring residents co-produce activities and influence the Hub’s direction, with a pathway to influencing trustee-level decision making.

Partnership Development

• Build and strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including NHS teams, Public Health colleagues and social prescribers, creating integrated wellbeing pathways for Newham residents.
• Maintain and expand relationships with local organisations, agencies, and community groups, ensuring the Hub complements and connects with wider services.

Community Food & Social Connection

• Provide oversight (via the Food Sustainability Coordinator) for all food-related initiatives, ensuring they align with the Hub’s ethos of dignity, choice, and resilience.
• Direct the strategic transition from over-reliance on a traditional Food Bank to an empowering Food Club model, reinforcing pathways from crisis to independence.

Operational Leadership

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the Hub space, ensuring it is safe, welcoming, and open 7 days a week.
• Coordinate and support staff, volunteers, and sessional workers across the Hub, embedding strong safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

Promotion & Outreach

• Work with the marketing team to promote the Hub’s activities widely, ensuring strong engagement from under-represented and vulnerable groups.
• Conduct outreach to engage under represented residents, ensuring activities are culturally inclusive and accessible.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Compliance

• Lead on the monitoring and evaluation requirements of our Lottery bid.
• Use monitoring and evaluation tools (e.g., Upshot) to track engagement, outcomes, and impact, ensuring activities remain effective and relevant.
• Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations, safeguarding, and legal requirements.

Person Specification

• Passionate about community empowerment, inclusion, and tackling inequalities
• Commitment to strengths-based and dignity-first approaches, especially in working with marginalised communities (e.g., refugees, asylum seekers, people experiencing homelessness)
• Significant experience in leading community development or social impact projects
• Proven track record of designing, delivering, and evaluating community programmes that improve wellbeing and reduce isolation
• Demonstrable experience of co-production with residents or service users, ensuring their voices shape services
• Strong partnership-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with statutory services (e.g., NHS, Public Health, Local Authority) and voluntary/community partners

About the role

You’ll play a key role in a fast-paced volunteering team, which supports volunteering across the whole of Breast Cancer Now. You’ll be the first point of contact for volunteering enquiries, ensuring they are handled sensitively and efficiently over the phone and email.

You’ll also provide key administrative support to the volunteering team, assisting with survey design, advertising volunteering vacancies, and administration for training and events.

You’ll champion good record keeping and make sure all volunteering data is kept in top shape. You’ll be matching volunteers to opportunities that suit them, as well as using a range of online platforms to help recruit volunteers.

This is a fixed-term role starting in October 2025 and ending in May 2026.

Main Purpose of Job

The Youth and Employability Senior Manager will oversee the successful delivery, development, and sustainability of the youth and employability department. Ensuring activities and programmes are impactful, high quality and accessible. The Selection Criteria Essential

• Degree, professional qualification or experience in a relevant field (Youth work, Education, Social Sciences).

Job Title: Domestic Abuse Trainer

Location: Homeworking with a requirement to occasionally work at Head Office (Vauxhall, London)

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Domestic Abuse Trainer and Assessor on a part time, fixed term contract until May 2026. 

Refuge has recently been granted funding from the Ministry of Justice to develop training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs). This role has been created as a fixed term post to support that project. This is a strategic project and the overall aim of the MoJ is to increase access to training for IDVA professionals.

As the Domestic Abuse Trainer, the post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a high quality, accredited training programme, including workshops, assessments, and digital resources for professionals in the domestic abuse sector.

This role will work in partnership with our Service Delivery subject matter experts and our People & Organisational Development team to develop and deliver domestic abuse training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates and other front-line specialists. You will also be leading on assessments for delegates attending the training which should demonstrate competence through on the job training.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in training delivery or education in the domestic abuse sector. They should also have an understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and the barriers many women face in seeking support.

The Role 

Key Responsibilities 

Grants Administration and Co-ordination 

• Support the Programme Development & Partnerships Manager in preparing, reviewing and documenting memoranda of understanding, agreements, agreement modifications according to the needs of Islamic Help. 

• Coordination of the due diligence process with partners. 

• Support the Programme Development & Partnerships Manager to develop, finalise and monitor partner funding. 

• Support the preparation and follow-up of grants opening meetings, monthly review meetings, and grant closing meetings. 

• Ensure that office grants are processed in a timely and effective manner in accordance with our policies, procedures and standards. 

• Provide support to approved projects and ensure there is continuous oversight and support throughout the project management cycle including financial and periodic reporting. 

• Be self-administering including maintaining fundraising pipeline spreadsheets and monitoring progress against activities. 

• Maintenance of records and files in line with IH document management and IT policies. 

• Liaise with the  finance team to ensure grants have been received and are allocated / restricted as appropriate.  

• Support the programmes team in grants management, programme development, monitoring and evaluation, and external relations activities as requested. 

Compliance and Reporting 

• Support donor reporting processes, co-ordinating with the field staff to ensure the timely submission of high-quality programmatic reports and co-ordinate with Finance to ensure timely submission of financial reports. 

• Ensure quality information management through regular maintenance of grant files, reporting calendars, timely submission and updating of internal documentation and other grants tools. 

• Support compliance of programmes with donor and Islamic Help requirements and raise issues affecting external/internal compliance to management staff. 

Researching Funding Opportunities  

• Maintain a thorough understanding of the profile of current funders and Islamic Help’s relationship with them, including the need for reports and updates. 

• Grow the support of current funders, identifying opportunities for them to continue their support.  

• Maintain and update the database and tracker sheet with details of projects and relevant funding streams. 

 Proposals and Funding Applications  

• Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the organisation and its work. 

• Work closely with the Programme Development & Partnerships Manager to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities. 

• Assist, when required, the Programme Development & Partnerships Manager in the development and co-ordination of high-quality proposals and concept papers for submission to donors. 

• Build strong and effectve relatiionships with Islamic Help teams in the UK and overseas. 

• Support the programmes team in the on-going development of departmental strategy.  

 Partner and Donor Relationships 

• Develop and strengthen relationships with current partners and identify and cultivate relationships with potential new partners/donors through a range of communications including by phone, in writing and face to face meetings as appropriate.  

• Assist in co-ordination of existing relationships through professional account management and communicating the impact of our work to partners in a compelling way.  

• Maintain accurate partner and donor records in order to monitor, evaluate and report on fundraising activity.

• Support the Programme Development & Partnerships Manager on the management of the department including development of departmental calendar, coordinating meetings with agendas and record keeping, oversight and development of departmental workplan. 

• Communicate with offices and partners as and when necessary and communicate progress or queries to colleagues. 

• Support the programmes team in the analysis of budgets and reports to determine impact, achievements and outputs. 

• Prepare feedback reports for donors and other stakeholders within appropriate timeframes. 

• Provide marketing colleagues with appropriate beneficiary data and case study material etc. 

• Verify budgets, invoices and financial liquidation reports to ensure that money is being spent according to the approved operational budget, plan and conduct appropriate desk reviews. 

• Review budgets and communicate any changes where needed. 

• Ensure the prioritisation of the most vulnerable within the communities Islamic Help serves by adopting a pro-active, holistic approach to safeguarding. 

• Contribute to department workplans, help set budgets and manage programme funds. 

• Support the programmes team on Emergency Response including – development of Emergency Response process, first response, setting up Emergency Panel, development of surge capacity and the development of proposals and reporting 

• To participate and actively engage, under the supervision of the Director of International Programmes, as part of Islamic Help’s first response to an emergency, including but not limited to travelling to emergency response locations, planning and implementing emergency response projects and liaising with partners and others to ensure successful implementation 

• Support the partnerships department with partner care – accompanying partners on field visits wherever needed to ensure the smooth coordination of operations and projects 

• Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.

As the Individual Giving Fundraising Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of our Individual Giving strategy, placing donors at the heart of everything you do.

With a strong focus on both acquisition and retention, you will design and implement engaging campaigns across a range of income streams, including Direct Mail, Regular Giving, Lottery, Legacy, and In-Memory giving, line managing a small team of Fundraising Officers.

Established in 1997, Jigsaw4u provide a range of services for children, young people, families and vulnerable adults experiencing complex social and emotional difficulties across South West London. • Ensure that the structure of all Jigsaw4u services are optimised to allow for growth and support staff and volunteers (including trainee counsellors/therapists) to develop key skills.
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of best practice within the charitable sector (and other sectors where relevant), to inform and update Jigsaw4u so that we take advantage of the latest approaches to change, innovation and development which can have a positive impact on our beneficiaries lives.
• Work proactively and collaboratively to identify innovation and business improvement within the SLT to define and agree Target Operating Models and oversee implementation and ongoing review. Use insight, evaluation and analysis to continually inform and refine practice.
• Play a full part in the development of the SLT and deputise for the CEO as required. Work closely with the Service Management Team to develop and deliver an outstanding approach to people management, building a learning culture that delivers high quality, extensive support enabling people to achieve their best as a team.
• Represent Jigsaw4u at formal meetings with funders and other stakeholders and through submission of reports and data requests. Establish new, and strengthen existing, external relationships to promote Jigsaw4u’s profile, influence and reputation.
