This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SaLT who is passionate about transforming children’s life chances and is keen to lead and grow a Speech and Language Therapy service in the field of Social Emotional Mental Health needs.
The children we typically support are those with mild to moderate social communication needs. These are the children that don’t meet the criteria for community paediatric and CAMHS services and are often at significant risk of developing mental health and behavioural difficulties later on in life. We also offer EHCP work for more complex cases.
In this role you will be working operationally and strategically. About the Role
Join us as a Reconnect Worker and help prevent youth homelessness by supporting young people and families experiencing conflict or crisis. Please note that this role requires a Basic DBS check and HMPPS vetting because it includes work on contracts commissioned by the Ministry of Justice and HMPPS. You will be building great relationships with our Corporate members and involving them with the work of the trust and inspiring them to support our range of inspiring projects. You will use your networking skills at events to proactively find new corporate supporters, and retain our existing supporters by running corporate events on our nature reserves across the county. About the Role
As a Nightstop Coordinator, you’ll be the first point of contact for young people facing homelessness—assessing needs, coordinating safe emergency placements, and guiding them toward longer‑term support. It’s a fast‑paced, people‑focused role where every decision you make helps keep a young person safe and heard.
You’ll also nurture strong relationships with referral partners, support and motivate our volunteer hosts, and help grow our Nightstop network across the North East. Key deliverables:
Supporting Young People
• Be the first point of contact for people experiencing homeless and referral partners, providing advice and signposting.
• Conduct needs and risk assessments with potential Nightstop guests.
• Arrange the logistics of a guest’s stay with a volunteer.
• Work with guests and referral partners to offer support and opportunities for longer term accommodation.
• Provide support to guests and volunteers through a 24 hour on call phone service.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and volunteers in the service at all times.

Marketing and Stakeholder Management
• Attend meetings and events and manage relationships with referral partners and other stakeholders.
Administration
• Maintain up to date records on all guests and volunteers.

• Develop promotion plans with the aim of recruiting Nightstop volunteers
