Senior Development Officer (Fundraising)
JOB DESCRIPTION
Role:The Senior Development Officer plays an integral role within the Development Team at Forces Employment Charity (FEC). You will work with the Head of Development to produce high quality, bespoke proposals, and reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to help drive the delivery of FEC across the UK. You will also work within the team to research and identify new fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations and companies and convert these into long term business relationships.

Principle Responsibilities:
- To work closely with the Head of Development to research and identify new opportunities.
- Develop, prepare, and submit high quality funding applications, acting as bid writing SME.
- Peer Review support to mentor other team members.
- Work with Head of Development to increase the accuracy of our Salesforce data, resulting in data dashboards suitable to the reporting needs of our funders.

d) To signpost Carers to relevant voluntary and statutory organisations.

3) To assist in the promotion of the work of the organisation by use of media, talks, presentations, displays etc.

1) Complete contacts on the database for every interaction with each carer. All phone calls, drop ins, home visits letters, emails and texts to have a separate contact.
2) Ensure attendees at group events whether in house or at another venue complete the signing in sheet. Complete the register for these events on the database if requested to do so.
3) Add names to waiting lists for trips and events following the standard procedure. Make appointments for carers to attend holistic therapies following the standard procedure.
4) Write up case studies and other reports as requested by line manager.
5) To be primarily self-servicing including word processing letters, keeping appropriate records of work undertaken, write reports and complete monitoring forms.
6) All of the above are necessary for management to produce statistics and other monitoring reports to comply with funders requests outlined in the main contract and other sources of funding.

This includes primary research (surveys, interviews, focus groups, participatory research etc.) and data analysis skills to produce recommendations and actionable insights to drive behaviour change, and adapt and improve our practice.
You should have experience of designing and leading mixed method research projects (quantitative and qualitative), using a range of tools to analyse and evaluate a variety of datasets and interpreting your findings into robust recommendations. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt these to different audiences. The role will support the Research and Insight Manager.

Main duties

- Work collaboratively with the team, other directorates and stakeholders to understand their research needs, to implement research processes and procedures, in-line with organisational priorities and the needs of funders.
- Understand and adhere to information management policies, research ethics and governance legislation, including, data privacy and data protection legislation, including GDPR.

The Senior Income & Engagement Officer (Individuals) leads War on Want’s activities acquire, retain, and develop individual supporters using a range of channels both on and offline. The right candidate will be a seasoned campaign manager with experience across a range of channels like direct mail, email, and telemarketing. Prospectus is excited to be supporting St Luke’s Hospice. The hospice’s mission is to provide the highest standards of individualised care for people with life-limiting conditions, palliative and end of life care needs, and their families, living in Basildon and Thurrock districts.
Reporting to the Head of Donor Acquisition and Retention (HODAR) and working within the Fundraising team, the Legacy and In Memory Lead is responsible for managing implementation of the Hospice’s legacy (gifts in Wills) and in memory strategies and developing annual delivery plans. The post holder will strategically plan and deliver promotional and stewardship activity, as well as ensuring provision of an excellent supporter experience, to achieve budget net income across these income streams and grow our active support base, including numbers of known supporters who would consider or have already pledged a gift in their Will to the Hospice.
The Legacy and In Memory Lead will work closely with the Individual Giving Lead to ensure appropriate coordination of planned activities involving existing and prospective individual giving, legacy and in memory audiences. The post holder will also work closely with the HODAR to help inform the development of departmental strategies.
The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable and relevant experience of in memory and/or legacy fundraising and developing in memory products. You will have experience in using a variety of on and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to both acquire and develop donors. About this key role
