Purpose of Role: 

Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
• Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail with excellent customer care
• Priority is to answer incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to Supporter Care Manager
• Support processing incoming phone and postal donations
• Assist with banking and processing incoming/outgoing post
• Be responsible for thanking our supporters including by letter, email and phone, despatch of information and fundraising materials
• Enter and maintain accurate records on our Database
• Maintain and assist with all types of donation processing administration and Database record amendments/records being kept up to date this will include Gift Aid status and contact consent requests
• Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters
• Manage removal process and consent process
• Assist with sending out problem payment letters
• Assist with handling material requests and recording actions on Database
• Assist with any third-party agency supporter care requests
• Maintain sensitive information and records with appropriate confidentiality
• Play an active role in developing the supporter journey at Operation Smile UK, working with the Supporter Care Manager, Head of Supporter Care & Database, and colleagues across Fundraising & Communications.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the Supporter Care Manager or Head of Supporter Care & Database.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

• Excellent customer service for internal and external stakeholders
• Written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent phone manner
• Strong eye for detail, methodical and accurate (critical that the database and supporter details at 100% accurate)
• Degree or equivalent qualification (i.e. marketing qualification).
• Attitude of continuous improvement, and lifelong learning.
• At least two years’ experience in a junior supporter care or administrative role
• Experience of donation or financial administration and working in a direct marketing environment or supporter care environment desirable with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent proficiency with CRM systems (Ideally Raiser’s Edge) and the ability to learn new systems and processes.
• Experience of outward facing donor stewardship, and relationship building.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and possess problem solving skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Can work on own initiative and be able to show initiative.

This role will see the successful candidate manage and develop a portfolio of successful national events. You will be involved in all aspects of the project management cycle from marketing and participant recruitment to supporter stewardship and race day logistics. With support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) you will prepare and track budgets for your assigned events and continuously look for opportunities to improve income and participant retention.

The role requires a good attention to detail, strong prioritization skills, sensitivity and flexibility. Whether you come with direct events fundraising experience or have transferable skills that the role requires, we will support and develop you to excel in your role.

Meningitis Research Foundation is based in Bristol, but the role is flexible and is open to remote working with monthly visits to the office (this will need to be more regular during events season). We offer an annual salary of £23,000-£28,000 (job titles and salary banding currently under review), 6% employer pension contribution and employee assistance program alongside annual leave of 25 days per year. Key Responsibilities

· Manage a portfolio of national events including TCS London Marathon and Great North Run executing the planning, delivery and evaluation of these events

· Identify supporters with high value potential (i.e. corporate or major donor) and ensure they are shared with the Head of Fundraising

· With the support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community)  create and deliver budgets and KPIs targets for your area ensuring you monitor and report on progress against these budgets and KPIs

· Other duties as reasonable requested by the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) or Head of Fundraising

Skills and experience required

· Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

· Good organisational and administrative skills, able to prioritise, juggle multiple tasks and work to deadlines

• Check in new submissions of scientific papers to ensure that manuscripts are complete and authors have adhered to journal policies before passing manuscripts on to Editors for content evaluation
• In collaboration with the editorial team, monitor progress on manuscripts in the submission system to identify and help resolve potential bottlenecks in peer review
• Assist in managing the journal inboxes, dealing with straightforward manuscript-related messages from authors, reviewers and external editors
• Ensure that accurate records are maintained in the submission system on the processing of all manuscripts
• Carry out post-acceptance checks on manuscripts and liaise with production team when requested, particularly during periods of annual leave for editorial office colleagues
• Assist in regular performance statistics reporting across the journal portfolio

The Bone Cancer Research Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Fundraising Assistant to join our fabulous Fundraising Team and to act as a first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries.

As an integral member of the Fundraising team, the Fundraising Assistant will support the delivery of a range of successful fundraising activities across the organisation, in order to maximise income for the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities are:
Corporate Fundraising

• Support corporate fundraising by completing due diligences on potential partners (you will be trained how to do this), organising corporate visits, volunteering days, supporting corporate fundraising events, keeping corporate partners up to date with our news etc and organising meetings.

Trusts and Foundations

• Support trusts and foundations fundraising by supporting on funder research (again you will be fully trained how to do this) and contributing to a constant pipeline of potential funders for the team to approach.
• Helping to manage the schedule for, and possibly writing and/or submitting basic proposals to trusts and foundations.

Events

•  Support the team by recording and sending fundraising materials to those raising money for us through events and challenge event.
•  Helping to develop, organise and deliver events.

Individual Giving

• Supporting our Individual Giving programme from an administrative point of view, including sending out pre-written emails to our supporters etc and ensuring first-class stewardship.
• Using our fundraising platform Enthuse to produce reports to support the team (and finance) with relevant information and insights.
• To ensure all donations are processed and on the fundraising tracker correctly, supporter records are kept up to date and supporters are thanked in a timely manner.

General

• To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries that come in by telephone, email, and post.
• Supporting other activities in the fundraising team when needed, sending out materials to fundraisers and supporting logistics, diary management and support the organisation and delivery of meetings and events when needed.
• Attend meetings and take concise and accurate minutes.
• Support the Head of Fundraising and Business Development to produce trackers and spreadsheets which help to measure the team’s performance and results. This includes ensuring income is allocated correct from third party platforms and working closely with the Finance Team to ensure that we can report fundraising results and forecast accurately and in a timely way.
• Support with stock control and ordering for our material assistance project, LifeSupply which also forms part of the department.
• Support all income generation activity with the collation of information from other departments, external organisations or though research.
• Other general fundraising and administration duties, as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the department including assisting in other team projects when they arise.

Fundraising Events Officer

Location: The role is based at the Trust’s office in West Berkshire with a minimum of three days per week expected to be worked at our Newbury office. Flexible working arrangements are available with the understanding that this must meet the objectives of the charity and requirements of the role.

Hours of work: Full-time, permanent.

Salary range: £22,000 - £25,000 FTE, depending on experience.

Purpose

This is an exciting and vital role supporting the delivery of the events programme within a leading mental health charity.

We are looking for someone with a love for events and a passion for supporting people wanting to raise money to make a difference for young people’s mental health. You will be an excellent communicator, highly organised, and able to work on multiple projects concurrently. You will be committed to delivering an exceptional supporter experience for our event participants and community fundraisers. Experience within the third sector is desirable but not a necessity.

As Fundraising Events Officer, your role is to support the Fundraising Events Manager to plan, deliver and review an exciting calendar of Charlie Waller fundraising events, supporting a wide range of third-party challenge events and community led activities.

Key responsibilities and duties

The Fundraising Events Officer will support the overall delivery of our varied events programme, bringing their enthusiasm to a calendar of events that aim to raise significant income for the charity, whilst also raising the charities profile and reach. They will play a key role in the delivery of well-loved annual events and support our growing network of event participants. Including but not limited to:

• Supporting the overall delivery of our events programme, working closely with the Fundraising Events Manager, Head of Fundraising and fundraising committees.
• The opportunity to take a lead role on the planning, delivery and evaluation of a number of events, managing the expenditure budget and meeting income targets.
• Maintain event income and supporter records in the database, working closely with the Fundraising Assistant and finance team on processing income and invoices.
• Support the fundraising committees with their activities, providing administrative support and guidance as needed.
• Support the promotion of our fundraising events, writing copy, building emails and supporting social activity.
• Support the development of our event marketing collateral, to support participants fundraising efforts.
• Build relationships with third-party event organisers.
• Provide regular updates on progress against agreed objectives and contribute to wider departmental fundraising reports as required.
• Represent The Charlie Waller Trust at events as required which will include ad-hoc evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will be given.
• Monitor online fundraising, through supporting those raising funds, to creating and maintaining clear income and communication records.
• Develop excellent and enduring relationships with existing supporters, fundraisers and community groups and engage new audiences. Including recognising and supporting their fundraising efforts and thanking them appropriately.
• Send fundraising materials (including t-shirts, information packs, etc.) to individuals raising money for us.
• Ensure that systems and processes are used as expected, and that our database is being updated and utilised as the central source of information.
• Liaise with a wide variety of people and organisations including supporters of the charity, trainers, funders, other statutory and voluntary organisations who work in the mental health field, and members of the public.
• Ensure compliance to data protection, safeguarding, confidentiality and relevant organisational policies and procedures.
• Other duties as may be reasonably prescribed by the trust, appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.
• Routine call handling as part of the wider office administrative team.

As Project Support Officer you will support the London & South East Area Manager and Regional Managers with volunteer recruitment, documentation of training, giving our volunteers a fantastic experience, guest outreach and giving extra support to our London & South East projects as and when required to aid development and growth within the region.

Each of our Projects is run by Project Leaders (volunteer position) and supported by Regional Managers through recruitment and training of volunteers. Your will support the Regional Managers so that they can manage more projects, knowing that you have helped with the embedding of volunteers, along with supporting expansion plans within their areas. This support could range from developing relationships with our food suppliers, researching local organisations to support with guest outreach, and recruiting new Project Leaders for the Area.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to talk confidently to external people about our Projects. You will also be a good organizer, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within multiple Projects. You will have a passion for food and cooking, and be committed to our objectives and ethics.

This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, to support with delivery as necessary, which will include evening and weekend work. As well as projects across London, our South East projects include Southampton, Portsmouth, Aylesbury and exciting new openings in Slough and Reading in 2024.
