This is a newly created and pivotal role that will lead our approach to income generation and strategic growth. As Senior Business Development & Partnerships Manager, you’ll be responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities, particularly in corporate partnerships, trust fundraising, and strategic collaborations, while also shaping how we position and promote our offer.

You’ll work closely with the CEO and senior management team to drive forward our mission and build meaningful relationships with stakeholders across sectors.

Main purpose of post
This role is to lead and be responsible for the development, management and
delivery of WPCC’s high quality, professional counselling and complementary
therapy services for adults, and for children and young people, at the Cavendish
Centre and in outreach locations. This role supports the holistic well-being of
service users, ensuring the services are safe, effective, accessible, and aligned
with the charity’s values and objectives

 To lead and be responsible for the delivery of effective service provision,
including outreach services, and to maintain the ethos and high
standard of the supportive care offered.
 To lead a service that provides one-to-one and small group
complementary therapy services and one-to-one counselling for around
1,000 beneficiaries per annum, including outreach provision in hospitals.
 To be responsible for the management of a complementary therapy and
counselling services budget of around £500,000 per annum.
Leadership & Service Development
 Lead and develop complementary therapy and counselling services to
meet the needs of clients, families, and carers.
 Plan and schedule timetables and freelance staffing rotas to maximise
the availability of counselling and complementary therapies within
available budgets, maximising freelancer availability and efficient
appointment scheduling.
 Evaluate and enhance service delivery in line with best practices, clinical
guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
 Identify and implement service improvements, based on user feedback,
evidence-based practice, and sector developments.
 Work effectively with the Head of Cancer Services and other service leads
to ensure counselling and complementary therapies are an integral part
of the wider WPCC service offer to people affected by cancer.
 To be part of a service lead team which can provide leadership cover
across all services to address day-to-day operational issues, including
safeguarding cover (for adult and children’s services) and maintenance
of service availability.
Freelance therapist management
 Recruit, support, and manage a multidisciplinary team of freelance
counsellors, therapists, and volunteers.
 Ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality, and
have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
 Provide professional oversight of freelance therapists ensuring all
professional standards are met
 Ensure all team members adhere to safeguarding, clinical governance,
and confidentiality standards.
 To ensure therapists delivering these services are of a suitable quality
and have up-to-date and relevant accreditation/professional registration
to practice, including clinical supervision arrangements, insurance, CPD
and DBS checks.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
 Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ethical standards and legal
requirements in counselling and complementary therapy (e.g. BACP,
CNHC, HCPC).
 Oversee risk assessments, safeguarding processes, and incident
reporting procedures.
 Monitor and report on service performance using agreed metrics and
impact evaluation tools.
Client Care & Support
 Ensure services are inclusive, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and
tailored to individual needs.
 Act as a senior point of contact for complex cases, ensuring appropriate
pathways and referrals.
 Maintain a client-centred approach, fostering dignity, respect, and
empowerment.
Partnerships & Engagement
 Build and maintain relationships with health professionals, community
organisations, and funders.
 Liaise as required with external stakeholders, such as healthcare
professionals, safeguarding teams, education providers, social services,
and third sector partners.
 Promote the service through outreach, events, and stakeholder
engagement.
 Contribute to grant applications, reports, and impact assessments to
support sustainability and growth.
Governance, Administration & Reporting
 Manage budgets for therapy and counselling services, ensuring costeffectiveness.
 Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and data
protection policies.
 Ensure suitable collection of activity data and produce service activity
and evaluation reports for internal and external stakeholders.

About the role

We’re looking for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis with FP&A experience to join our Finance Team as maternity cover for up to 12 months.

You will be a key member of the finance team, engaging with key stakeholders across the organisation and responsible for the delivery of accurate, consistent reporting and forecasts of financial performance; leading the production of monthly management accounts; the analysis of financial performance; the budgeting and forecasting cycle and the long term planning for the charity.

This is an exciting period of change in the finance team with the implementation of a new finance system in October (Microsoft’s Business Central). This role will be key in leading that post implementation period to ensure the benefits are felt within the Finance team and the organisation more widely.

The role holder will ensure that the new finance system is utilised to drive significant improvements in reporting and forecasting, including tighter reporting and forecasting timeframes, improvements in management reports and information, enhanced models for use in financial planning.

The role holder is accountable for the development and delivery of team plans, the management of the Finance Business Partners and the Management Accountant.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Manage the processes for setting the charity’s financial plans, including agreeing the timetables and deliverables for presentation to the Executive Team and Finance Committee.
• Manage the month end process taking ownership for the timely delivery of clear, accurate monthly management accounts and monthly Finance report.
• Leading on successfully embedding the new finance system with the Finance team (& the wider organisation) to realise improvements in management reporting and financial planning.
• Understand variances in monthly financial performance and enable the explanation of these clearly and concisely to the Director of Corporate Services, Executive Team and Trustees.
• Develop insights and make proactive proposals to budget holders on financial opportunities for efficiency or improving value for money.
• Build strong relationships with the Executive Team, Associate Directors and Heads of and be regarded as trusted source of financial support and guidance and leveraging these relationships to ensure Finance received the support it needs to meet its objectives.
• Manage the two Finance Business Partners and Income Management Accountant providing them with the appropriate support and guidance to ensure they meet their objectives and development needs.

ActionAid UK (AAUK) is a complex, values- driven organisation which is implementing an exciting new 2025-2028 strategy with one overarching goal:

Decolonise our systems and practices to tackle the root causes of inequality and justice. Four strategic goals will steer our direction:

Alongside the strategy, a transformation and innovation programme will embed a fundamental shift in the way the organisation operates, involving significant and sustainable changes to its culture, systems and practises. Transformative change at AAUK means change that is fundamental, lasting, and which challenges existing internal and external structural inequalities. These changes will also be guided by our Theory of Change and our feminist, decolonial and anti-racist principles. 

A priority is to change the way we currently approach monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL) at an organisational level, looking specifically at how we assess change and impact across our yearly organisational plans and within the four-year strategy. 

AAUK is seeking a qualified consultant or a company to collaboratively design, develop and deliver a new approach to capturing change and impact at ActionAid UK, moving the organisation away from traditional types of metrics and methods.

We are looking for you to conduct a light-touch review of our current organisational methods and tools and develop a new organisational transformative change framework, training workshop and action plan. We would like this consultancy to:

• Develop an approach to capturing transformative change and impact over time which captures gradual/incremental or exponential changes.
• Capture systematic changes and shifts in thinking and behaviour/culture
• Enable staff to feel confident to gather and interpret evidence of change alongside diverse experiences including their own
• Enable AAUK to capture collective contributions to change, recognising that no single action or individual makes change happen.
• Help us use the information we gather to inform and improve our work and better understand our unique role within the complex ecosystem of organisations and partnerships in which we work.

Objectives of the assignment

• Review and support the transformation of our organisational monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning processes to align with our new strategy and decolonial approach.
• Develop an organisational transformative change framework/toolkit and action plan, enabling staff to confidently capture impact over time and foster a culture of innovation, learning and accountability across the organisation.

Deliverables

The consultant / firm will work in collaboration with colleagues from AAUK Leadership and Transformation teams to:

• Create a plan and methodology that is aligned to our strategic objectives, decolonial approach and transformation activities.
• Conduct a light-touch process review, including desk research and conversations with key members of staff – to understand our current organisational monitoring and reporting processes, methods and tools.
• Develop a new Transformative Change organisational framework/toolkit which includes methods and tools for measuring change at organisational and team level and establishes a baseline from which we can improve and which captures both successes and challenges.
• Develop a staff training workshop on the new framework and tools.
• Provide a workplan with future recommendations and actions.

About the role:

At King George’s Hostel, we provide a long-established service where people who have experienced homelessness, trauma and multiple disadvantage can begin to recover, rebuild and move towards independence. As Psychologist/Psychotherapist (PIE Consultant), you will be at the centre of this work, bringing psychological knowledge and practice into a service designed to create safety, trust and opportunity. Clients of the service often face challenges including mental ill-health, substance use, trauma and physical health issues, and you will offer both informal support and accessible, tailored one-to-one and group interventions that address barriers and open pathways to change.

Alongside direct client work, you will support staff to reflect, learn and grow in their practice. This includes facilitating reflective practice, contributing to case discussions, and offering team consultancy that helps colleagues work with compassion and consistency, even in the most complex situations. A key part of the role will also involve creating “spaces of opportunity” with clients and staff through low-threshold, activity-based group work that fosters connection, confidence and a sense of agency.

Your influence will extend beyond individual sessions. By embedding Psychologically Informed Environments across the hostel and wider organisation, you will help shape a culture where psychological thinking informs every aspect of support. As part of Single Homeless Project's (SHP) central PIE team, you will collaborate with other psychologists and psychotherapists, with access to regular line management, clinical supervision, and SHP’s in-house training programme. About you:

• Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its’ equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS or Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology OR Psychotherapist with BCP, BPS or UKCP registration or full BACP accreditation.
• Experience of working as a qualified Psychologist or Psychotherapist for a minimum of 4 years including substantial post-qualification experience within the speciality.

About the role

Kinship Minds is a transformative programme that enhances the support we provide to kinship carers in England and Wales.

Our goal is to build kinship carers' confidence and equip them with the knowledge and skills to support children in their care—especially in recognising and responding to early signs of mental health issues.

We are at the beginning of our journey to embed therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches across all areas of service delivery. This includes one-to-one support, digital resources and training, and peer support networks.

The Strategic Trauma-Informed Practitioner will lead this transition, helping us move from a trauma-sensitive organisation on a journey that becomes trauma-aware, trauma-informed, and ultimately trauma-responsive. This role is available as hybrid / remote or on-site (London) 

The type of person we’re looking for: 

You will need to be able to step into this role quickly, bringing your experience of building and developing trauma informed approaches in complex services.   

You will have strong leadership capabilities, able to work at pace autonomously with creativity and dynamism.  You will need to have excellent attention to detail.   

What you'll be doing: 

This strategic and hands-on role will help Kinship strengthen its therapeutic offer and build the confidence and capacity of staff and kinship carers to understand trauma and the impact it has, and strategies to support. We are particularly interested in experience in developing trauma-informed parenting training and resources.   

The postholder will play a key role in developing and manualising our trauma-informed approach across core services: Kinship Connected, Kinship Reach, our Advice Service, and Peer Support Service. It will work with subject matter experts to develop trauma-informed approaches, toolkits, and resources for everyday service delivery, based on the needs of kinship carers and their families.   

Key responsibilities: 

• Develop and lead Kinship’s trauma-informed strategy, ensuring the implementation of trauma-informed principles across all service delivery (for example using Dr Karen Treisman’s approach).  

• Lead the development and manualisation of trauma-informed practice across Kinship Connected, Kinship Reach, the Advice Service, and the Peer Support Service. This includes resources, approach and content.   

• Develop and deliver capacity-building approaches and resources for kinship carers to help them identify and respond to trauma and mental health needs in children.  

• Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop self-guided training, toolkits, and multimedia resources.   

• Represent Kinship at external events and meetings to raise awareness of the services and to influence other organisations, policy and practice.  

Knowledge, abilities, skills and experience: 

• A qualified trauma-informed practitioner with significant experience in delivering or developing trauma-informed services.  

• Experience working with kinship carers or in adoption and fostering sector.   

• Proven experience applying the principles of trauma-informed care across organisations, preferably in children and family services.  

• Qualified or accredited practitioner in Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) or demonstrable experience using the approach in practice.  

• Experience in designing and delivering training and coaching for professionals and/or families on trauma and therapeutic approaches.  

• Excellent understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures focusing on contributing to a culture which values transparency, reflective practice and continuous learning.

We are now looking for an Income Generation Manager to join our team, on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the importance of sustainable funding and wants to use their skills to make a real difference. In this role, you will provide targeted support to community organisations and community-led libraries across Birmingham, helping them to develop their fundraising skills and build long-term financial resilience.

You will deliver bespoke support, workshops, and resources designed to improve income generation across the sector. Working closely with organisations, you will help identify and secure suitable funding opportunities through bid writing, applications to trusts and foundations, and developing other income streams such as events, sponsorship and corporate partnerships. You will also take a hands-on approach to achieving agreed income targets — around £200,000 in the first year, rising to £500,000 within 18 months.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work with Birmingham City Council and other strategic partners to ensure our support aligns with city-wide priorities, while also building strong relationships with funders and networks to open up new opportunities for community groups. Alongside this, you will monitor outcomes and report on the impact of your work, maintaining accurate records and producing reports that highlight progress and learning across the programme.

To succeed in this role, you will need to bring proven experience in fundraising or income generation, ideally within the voluntary and community sector.
