About the Role
This pivotal role will manage, and coordinate inspections and remedial works related to gas, electrical safety, water hygiene, asbestos, fire safety, and lifts. You’ll lead a small team and work closely with delivery partners, ensuring that all compliance activities are effectively scheduled, completed, and auditable in line with legislation and sector best practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering planned compliance work programmes and overseeing contractor performance.
• Leading statutory inspections and managing compliance records via property databases.
• Providing assurance that IDS meets the standards set by the Regulatory Framework for Social Housing and other regulatory bodies.
• Managing and developing a small team of Compliance Officers.
• Promoting a strong culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.

About You
You’ll bring a strong background in property compliance, a working knowledge of building safety legislation, and the leadership skills to drive performance and improvement.

You will have:

• Proven experience in managing statutory M&E compliance in a housing or property context
• A relevant technical or compliance qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, IWFM, HNC/HND in Building Services)
• Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, the Building Safety Act 2022, and CDM regulations
• Demonstrable success managing contractors and compliance systems
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong analytical and reporting capability using system-based compliance data
• A values-led approach and the ability to thrive under pressure

The Solutions Technology Team are dedicated to enhancing the delivery technology solutions we provide. With a focus on aligning technology solutions with business needs, the Solutions Manager will review requirements and turn them into clear, actionable project plans. You’ll be supporting the Head of Technology and Solutions with software architecture, databases support, network infrastructure, and relevant programming languages to a degree that enables you to grasp technical discussions and identify potential challenges.  Our in-house development platforms are built using PHP and Microsoft SQL Server and leverage robotic automation tools such as Toca.io and Power Automate all hosted-on Azure cloud infrastructure. 

Acting as line manager, you’ll oversee and coordinate the day-to-day work of our Solutions technology team, supporting two Developers, a Business Analyst and third-party developers to deliver projects on time and in line with business needs.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a Solutions Manager with a strong understanding of the development lifecycle, business analysis, requirements gathering, database design, optimisation, and general programming. You’ll need to be comfortable overseeing and helping to shape the architecture of our bespoke in-house applications, while taking ownership of existing systems — understanding how they’re built, how they work, and the part they play within the organisation.

You’ll have proven experience in managing teams (both in-house and external) and providing coaching and development opportunities to help your team perform at their best. Experience with both Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) will be essential, as you lead the team to deliver high-quality, timely solutions.

Problem-solving and decision-making will be at the heart of your role, and your excellent communication skills will enable you to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, from technical teams to non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidates will have significant direct marketing expertise with a strong background in project managing multiple campaigns across a range of channels, ideally in a fundraising role, and with proven success at recruiting new donors.  You will have a passion for fundraising with a commercial understanding of the charity marketplace and competitors. As well as previous experience in identifying areas of innovation and devising testing plans to launch and roll out, you will also have a track record in successfully leveraging value from data collated on supporter databases, to maximise targeting and data segmentation.

This role will play a pivotal role in driving implementation of The Association's new strategy and shaping and driving change across all functions. This is a key role working with senior managers and project teams to develop and implement new organisation-wide project and programme management processes, tools and methods

As PMO Lead, you'll work closely with the Head of Strategy & Programme Management to embed consistent and effective practices across a central portfolio of projects and programmes. You will bring technical expertise, practical project and programme management experience and a collaborative approach to working across teams and levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of consistent project and programme management tools and methods across the organisation
• Support, upskill and coach Sponsors, Business Change Managers and Project Managers to fulfil their roles effectively
• Collaborate with project leads to ensure clear project scopes, risk management and reporting processes
• Support and challenge Project Managers, Sponsors & Business Owners across the Association to ensure the benefits of projects/programmes are defined, measured and learning points shared.
• Establish and manage a central log of projects, ensuring accurate and consistent reporting
• Ensure project benefits are identified, measured and reviewed, and that learning is captured
• Shape a centrally managed change portfolio to help deliver the organisation's strategy
• Develop and maintain reporting processes across all organisational projects
• Create and run a cross-organisational community/forum for project professionals to build skills and share learning
• Partner with the Learning & Development team to build capability in project and programme delivery
• Support the identification of project interdependencies and escalate issues for resolution
• Help inform decisions on resource allocation to maximise strategic impact

About You:

• In-depth understanding of the core elements of a successful PMO
• Recognised qualification in project or programme management, ideally with a PMO-specific certification
• Demonstrable experience of setting up and running a PMO in a similar organisational context
• Experience managing projects or programmes, with sound knowledge of relevant methodologies
• Skilled in supporting others to use consistent project and programme approaches
• Proficient in project management software such as MS Project
• Confident working across teams and functions to embed tools and approaches
• Able to clearly communicate, influence and support decision making at senior levels

Contract: Permanent role
Salary: 28,733 plus Regional Weighting (up to £4,677 in London). All staff also receive £600 per year work from home allowance

Location: Hybrid role which will be predominantly home-based with some travel and meetings in London

Core responsibilities within your role will be to:

• Work with the Head of Policy and Public Affairs to set up a new press office function for AdviceUK.
• Shape proactive, impactful media plans as well as responding to reactive media inquiries.
• Manage relationships with journalists and craft attractive copy for press releases and a range of other communications purposes.
• Support team members to identify media and communications opportunities related to their work.
• Brief and thoroughly prepare senior staff and AdviceUK members for appearances in broadcast media.
• Liaise with the marketing team to identify opportunities to promote policy and public affairs work through social media and other owned channels.

The purpose of this role is to support the policy and public affairs team to raise awareness of AdviceUK, their campaigns and the work of their members through the media. You will be an excellent communicator who can draft engaging copy for press releases and other media. You will be a fast learner, who can pick up new topics and issues with ease, and you'll be data-focused, able to use robust evidence to support press comments.

We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience working in a press office environment, working on proactive and reactive comments and campaigns.
• Experience building contacts and relationships with journalists from a wide range of media outlets.
• Experience preparing senior staff for media appearances
• The ability to draft press releases and web copy on a range of issues
• A track record of delivering successful high impact press campaigns.
• Experience working sensitively with case studies and vulnerable individuals
