This charity empowers children, young people and adults from disadvantaged communities with the literacy skills they need to succeed. They work directly with young people and their families, with the 5,000 schools in these communities, with nurseries, prisons, YOIs and through their teams leading community literacy programmes in 20 places in the UK facing the biggest literacy and poverty challenges. Literacy is a vital element of action against poverty and their work changes people's life stories.

Contract: Permanent role
Salary: £50,000 to £55,000

As Head of Digital, your core responsibilities will include:

• Lead the development and implementation of the charity's digital transformation strategy
• Provide digital leadership and expertise across the organisation
• Oversee the development of digital platforms to enhance brand and mission delivery
• Lead the delivery of key digital projects on time and within budget
• Enhance data analysis and CRM capabilities, developing reporting dashboards, generating data-driven insights and making recommendations to optimise performance and growth

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven experience in managing high-value relationships across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts & foundations, and statutory bodies. You'll have a strong track record of securing and growing long-term partnerships, including successfully negotiating six or seven-figure sums with corporate partners and/or major donors. You'll bring outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to engage high-value supporters and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the corporate, trust & foundation, major donor and other high value supporter strategies.
• Manage and develop the Rapid Response Network, retaining existing partnerships whilst also identifying and securing new partnerships.
• Deliver excellent stewardship that retains and develops support.
• Take to completion and implement recommendations from strategic projects, to include the major donor review and the RRN / corporate support review.
• Continually hone “next appeal” plans that lead to successful appeal launches and maximise funds raised throughout the appeal life cycle.

Main Purpose of the Role

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Senior Supporter Journeys Executive to help us shape how our supporters experience our charity. Working at the heart of the Individual Giving team, you’ll design and deliver engaging, insight-led journeys that build loyalty, reduce attrition, and encourage long-term support.

This is an exciting time for the charity as we're delivering a new 3-year fundraising strategy with a particular focus on loyalty. In this newly created role, you'll play a key part in making sure every touchpoint, from the first welcome to ongoing engagement, feels personal, timely, and meaningful.

You'll be responsible for developing and improving multi-channel journeys for both new and existing supporters, coordinating the creation of journeys from various channels to help increase conversion. You’ll also support the design and rollout of journeys for key segments, including legacy enquirers and tribute fund donors.

Working with our data and insight colleagues, you’ll monitor journey performance using key metrics like retention and lifetime value. You'll use our CRM and Email Service Provider to identify opportunities, track activity, and coordinate testing of messaging and value propositions to maximise engagement.

As a key collaborator, you’ll work with colleagues across the organisation and with external agencies to ensure our supporter journeys are joined up and focused on the individual.  

What we want from you

This role is a great fit for someone with experience in Individual Giving, donor stewardship, or similar supporter experience roles. You'll have a strong understanding of what drives loyalty and retention, and a clear grasp of donor lifetime value.

Your project coordination skills will be essential as you manage multiple priorities across teams, ensuring clear communication and efficient delivery. We need someone who’s comfortable working with data and insight to inform decisions, using CRMs (ideally Raiser’s Edge) and email platforms like Adestra to improve supporter journeys and campaign performance. You'll also have a good working knowledge of direct marketing concepts and multi-channel delivery, including mail, email, and digital.

We're looking for an independent thinker who can not only manage projects but also proactively identify and develop new opportunities from their own observations. Donor Stewardship:

Location:  Hybrid working - Part London office-based and part home working. The post holder will work a minimum of one day a week in the office.
