As Senior Legacy & In-Memory Officer, you will help to shape a brand-new area of strategic growth for Northamptonshire Health Charity. This is a unique opportunity to support in building our legacy giving and in-memory fundraising programmes from the ground up. You’ll work alongside the Head of Fundraising to create meaningful pathways for supporters to leave a lasting impact, whether through gifts in Wills or by celebrating and honouring their loved ones.

You’ll help to implement campaigns, supporter journeys, and events like Make a Will Month, while nurturing relationships with donors, families, and NHS staff. You’ll also work on growing the use and income of our online tribute platform, MuchLoved.

Key Responsibilities:

· Contribute to the design and delivery of a compelling legacy fundraising programme, building a strong and sustainable legacy pipeline.

· Help to develop in-memory fundraising strategy and supporter journeys, with the aim of increasing income through tribute funds.

· Day-to-day management and promotion of their MuchLoved tribute platform, ensuring families receive exceptional support and the tool is well utilised.

· Collaborate closely with the fundraising and marketing teams to integrate legacy and in-memory giving across campaigns and communications.

· Provide thoughtful, compassionate stewardship to all legacy and in-memory supporters, recognising their generosity with care and respect.

Person Specification:

· Experience in fundraising or a sector relevant to the role (e.g., financial planning, legal services, bereavement support), with an understanding of legacy and in-memory giving and the ability to build trusted, empathetic relationships.

· Awareness of legacy fundraising principles, with a willingness to develop a legacy pipeline and supporter journey strategy with support and guidance.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, sensitive, and engaging content for supporters.

· Good interpersonal skills, with the confidence and empathy to connect with donors, families, and professional contacts in a respectful and compassionate way.

· Experience supporting or delivering fundraising activity, ideally including events, tribute funds, or in-memory giving, or a demonstrable interest in developing in this area.

· Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities, with a proactive attitude and good attention to detail.

As a member of the newly formed Development Team, you will lead on supporter engagement for the School and its’ Students through effective fundraising communications and year-round event delivery. You will support prospect communications, and assure best-in-class stewardship of donors while enabling delivery of rights and benefits to Centenary sponsors and partners.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

This role will assist with day-to-day management of Royal Ballet School’s fundraising work to support retention of recurring income from existing streams and facilitate the onboarding of new donors.

Reporting to the Development Operations Manager, the post-holder will assist with the planning and delivery of a large number of year-round engagement events through in-house visits and performances, external events and ticketing management for centenary performances. This role will lead on all fundraising communications to donor and prospect segments, and oversee campaign tracking, while relying on accurate data use and record keeping. The role will also support the administrative processing of ad-hoc Legacy request donations.

MAIN DUTIES

Fundraising Communications:

• Lead on communications for the Team, segmenting prospects and donors, ensuring they receive regular and tailored emails
• Oversee key termly campaigns, sponsor reports and videos, event invitations and summer performance comms
• Use Dot Digital to send communications and securely hold and update donor contact information
• Work closely with the School’s Communications and Marketing department to advance design and content briefs as required. 

Event Planning & Delivery:

• Attend annual School calendar planning meetings
• Manage delivery of approx. 35+ in-house donor visits to Upper School and White Lodge all year round
• Support the delivery external events for existing donors as well as cultivation events for prospects
• Coordinate performance invitations, attendance and hospitality at Opera Holland Park, Linbury Theatre, and the Royal Opera House and other third party venues
• Log and track all event invitations, RSVPs and attendance through the CRM
• Work closely with the teaching staff to coordinate any activities that are student-facing. 

Donor Data Stewardship:

• Support the Donor Relations Team to administrate and deliver benefits to a portfolio of donors, sponsors and partners
• Work alongside Artistic, Academic, and Operational colleagues to ensure best Donor Experience
• Develop skills as an integral member of the Development Team in nurturing relationships with internal departments and external individual donors and trustees
• Keep accurate contact data and record keeping for the wider team reporting and monitoring needs

Legacy Gift Administration:

• Administrate Gifts in Wills from Legators working with executors and families and coordinating timelines for income with the Finance team
• Work with the team to build the ‘in memory’ programme for the School’s Centenary and ensuring subsequent ‘In-Memory’ benefits are delivered.

General Support:

• Support the Development Operations Manager and Head of Donor Relations with the evolving needs of the Development Office, as it seeks to grow income and impact in 2026 and beyond. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Criteria:

• Willing to work collaboratively across all functions of the department and wider School
• Daily working knowledge of Windows PC systems and Microsoft Office programs
• Minimum of two years administrative and operational experience
• Experience in maintaining and managing a contacts database
• Experience of working in a non-profit or charity fundraising environment
• Confident and well presented with strong relationship management skills
• Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines
• Numerate with a meticulous attention to detail and able to understand budgets
• Flexible to assist at performances and events falling outside normal working hours

Relationship Management

• Provide tailored, high-quality stewardship to a range of large and medium-sized Trusts & Foundations.
• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and build relationships with new Trusts and Foundations to further grow this income stream.

The Role

Job description

Job Purpose

To manage and develop the home from hospital settle service in the hospitals that you are responsible for, to support timely and successful patient discharges from hospital and prevent re-admissions.  You will work in collaboration with hospital teams and community teams to lead and manage your team to support the smooth transition from hospital to home for service users.  The service works with people for time limited support (usually up to 6 weeks) to adjust and settle back in their homes, and to prevent readmission into hospital. 

Key Tasks

• Work in partnership with the hospitals and other health and social care professionals to coordinate safe and timely discharges for referred clients.  This involves attending meetings with hospital personnel including Discharge Co-ordinators and Ward Managers to discuss discharges and plan who and how individuals will be supported as appropriate. 
• Manage a team working across two hospitals and ensuring the service is available between the contracted hours.
• Work collaboratively with other agencies providing support services.
• Conduct initial assessments of people referred to the services as necessary.
• Plan and develop person centred interventions to provide short term support for people after hospital discharge.
• Work with GPs as appropriate in identifying and supporting patients to reduce unnecessary hospital admissions.
• Work with people with a range of needs, dealing with issues ranging from social isolation and keeping people engaged in their community, to preventing unnecessary admission to hospital.
• Support the hospitals with delayed transfer of care (DTOC).
• Coordinate and monitor the caseload of referrals allocated to team members to ensure a fair and manageable distribution of work.
• Rota planning to ensure staff flexibility and availability, enabling planned rosters that best suit both hospital and patient needs.
• Develop your team which includes; supervision, appraisal, planning of continued professional development opportunities and training needs.
• Conduct regular management audits to ensure a consistent way of working and identify development and training needs in the team or individual.
• Develop and deliver a flexible service that can respond to peaks and troughs in demand.
• Ensure the service is meeting key performance indicators, and identify any concerns e.g. demand for the service exceeding the levels in the contract and taking proactive action to address this.

• Maintain electronic records of referrals and interventions to assess service impact, support local improvements, and report on KPIs
• Meet and produce reports as required by the Head of Service.
• Ensure patient records are regularly updated through AUKEL database, and support staff to complete their administration via training etc.
• Work with the Communications team and the Head of Service, market and promote the service.
• Build and circulate a resource pack for the wider AUKEL team to generate referrals between services delivered by the charity.

 Quality

• Be familiar with and implement AUKEL policies and procedures.
• Ensure the service is delivered in accordance with Care Quality Commission principles.
• Ensure a cycle of continuous improvement by taking a “lessons learnt” review approach.
• Ensure that the requirements of the contract specification for the services are met.
• Ensure integration with other AUKEL projects, and service users are referred/sign-posted to appropriate support services available to them.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

General

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial aspects of both Ethex and Energise Africa. Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will be a key member of the senior management teams, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial information for both entities. This role requires a good understanding of accounting standards, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to contribute strategically to the growth and sustainability of both Ethex and Energise Africa. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

• Oversee financial accounting for both companies, working with our finance assistant, who is responsible for book-keeping, banking, AR and AP.

• Manage the process for production of the annual report and accounts for both entities, liaising with external accountants / auditors and ensuring timely completion.

Cash Flow Management:

Tax & Compliance:

• Stay up to date and ensure compliance with all relevant tax legislation and accounting standards.

Systems & Processes:

• Continuously review and improve systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy and safeguard the assets of both entities.

Overview: Conduct a Final Evaluation for a project entitled ‘Provision of humanitarian and livelihood support’, also known as ‘HELA’ (Humanitarian and Economic Livelihoods Assistance’). The 3-year project is funded by Misereor / Katholische Zentralstelle für Entwicklungshilfe (KZE), with co-funding provided by CAFOD. It is implemented by two local partners in Afghanistan, in three provinces, between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2025.

CAFOD has been supporting local organisations in Afghanistan, including the two implementing partners for this project, since the 1980s to help tackle issues of poverty and injustice and to respond to humanitarian emergencies.

Background and Context

Project Brief: This project is a result of partnership and joint work between CAFOD and the consortium members. The project builds on CAFOD’s existing programming in Afghanistan which strengthens the capacity of at-risk households by diversifying their livelihood options. The project focuses on meeting basic needs as well as promoting inclusive development, with the objective of strengthening resilience, particularly for the most vulnerable. As the project approaches the final few months of implementation, CAFOD is seeking to engage an external consultant to conduct a participatory final evaluation for this project. This will evaluate how effectively the project has been implemented, its major impacts and lessons learned, and recommendations for future similar programming. It is expected that the final evaluation will have a particular focus on the consortium partners’ ways of working: the strength of their collaboration, the efficacy and suitability of monitoring and evaluation approaches, and the benefit of learning events and strategies used through the project.

CAFOD and our partners are working with the same target group throughout the duration of the project, not only providing humanitarian and livelihood support, but also raising awareness amongst participants of families' rights from an Islamic perspective. Over the past two decades, much work has been undertaken to empower Afghan households and enable them to exercise their agency. Partners are taking a variety of approaches to further these aims in the project.

Ultimately, the project aims to support and ensure that the rights of poor and vulnerable people in Bamyan, Kabul, and Kunduz provinces are upheld and they have increased agency in their social and economic development.

Directly, the project has been planned to achieve programme outcomes:

1. The basic needs of targeted households are met.
2. Targeted participants have improved resilience through diversified livelihoods.
3. Targeted community leaders and members (male and female) are equipped and empowered with the knowledge and skills to promote and uphold their rights from an Islamic perspective.

Project Target Group and Location: The project will reach a total of 350 participants in three provinces of Afghanistan (Bamyan, Kunduz and Kabul) with a combination of humanitarian assistance, livelihoods training and other activities.

Project Duration: September 2022 – August 2025 (36 months)

Scope of the Final Evaluation:

The purpose of this final evaluation is to assess the overall performance and objectives of the completed project, in relation to the specified objectives, logical framework, and work plans. The evaluation will examine the extent to which project outcomes have been achieved, the quality and sustainability of results, and the relevance and appropriateness of strategies employed and ways of working. This participatory evaluation will analyse not only what has been achieved, but how it was achieved, how it was measured, and what could have been improved. This will include an examination of accountability measures, and how participants and other stakeholders were engaged throughout the implementation process, including how participants were given the opportunity and encouraged to share feedback and help shape the design of the project. The consultant will make and explain recommendations for consideration in implementing future projects of a similar nature.

The evaluation should include a review of the project’s monitoring data, secondary documents, a workshop with staff, and some direct data collection from key stakeholders including targeted participants taking part in the livelihoods training activities, as well as their relatives and community members. Findings of the evaluation will be used to guide and improve future project design and implementation. They should be written up into a final evaluation report (no more than 30 pages) which will be made available to CAFOD, Misereor and both partners.

As well as assessing progress towards logical framework indicators, the evaluation should focus on capturing, documenting and assessing lessons learned to inform future project design and implementation.

The assessment will be conducted in close coordination with CAFOD’s Afghanistan team, including the Country Programme Representative, Programme Officer, and Programme Support Officer.

Objectives of the Final Evaluation:

1. To assess the project and its effectiveness in meeting its three outcomes and supporting targeted Afghan households, through material assistance, livelihoods skill training and associated support, advocacy initiatives, and other activities.
2. To evaluate the strength and appropriateness of the projects MEAL systems:
   1. To what extent did project monitoring and evaluation help track project progress and achievements?
   2. How effectively was participation and accountability built into project design and implementation, and partners’ ways of working with stakeholders?
   3. How effectively were learning opportunities used throughout the project (including peer learning and exchange visits, learning workshops, regular progress workshops, etc.)?
3. To assess and review consortium functionality, partnership dynamics, and collaboration.
4. To capture and assess key lessons learned from the project from various stakeholders including project staff, participants, civil society groups involved in the project, community leaders and other community members.
5. To assess the sustainability and impact of project achievements, including:
   1. Changes in participants’ social and economic agency and participation
   2. Shifts in community attitudes and behaviours
   3. Capacity built among local partners and stakeholders.
6. To produce a high-quality report, no longer than 30 pages, which will be shared with CAFOD, Misereor and implementing partners.

Deliverables and proposed deadlines:

• Develop a short inception report with proposed methodology, plans and tools for collecting data from stakeholders, for the final evaluation (1st and 2nd week of contract), to be discussed and agreed with CAFOD and partners.

• The evaluation should adopt a participatory mixed-methods approach, beginning with a desk review before integrating quantitative and qualitative methods to ensure that data collected is triangulated and can be communicated, explained and contextualised.
• It is expected that the consultant will combine surveys/questionnaires with structured interviews, FGDs and KIIs. Note that to enable the open and unrestricted sharing of opinions and information, the data can be anonymised where relevant and appropriate.
• Evaluation team members are encouraged to use innovative methods to collect and analyse data. The qualitative component will allow for more in-depth data gathering to gain more insightful findings from relevant target groups regarding their experience of the project and its impact.
• Data is expected to be gathered from key project stakeholders, including:
  • Targeted participants (in vocational training, first aid training, and Local Leaders Committees).
• The midterm evaluation will be supported by two workshops: an initial developmental workshop in which the data collection methods will be discussed with CAFOD staff and representatives from partners to obtain feedback and input; and a feedback and validation workshop after submission of the draft report, to obtain input on findings and recommendations.
• The consultant(s) are expected to propose the most suitable method of sampling/randomisation and the sample size will be determined in collaboration with CAFOD and partners. Information shall be collected from across specified beneficiaries, partners and stakeholders.
• All data collected during the baseline study will be disaggregated by age, gender, disability, and location.

Ethical Considerations

The below ethical considerations will be adhered to during the midterm evaluation:

• The evaluation will be conducted by an independent and impartial external consultant.
• Quantitative data will be obtained from a randomly selected representative sample. 
• Participation in the study will be voluntary, and individuals must be able to curtail their participation in the study at any time. 
• The safety of participants and implementing partner staff will be paramount.
• Anonymity, confidentiality and safeguarding of study data (both during data collection and for data storage) will be guaranteed. 
• There will be no risks and benefits for individual participants.
• The culture, norms and traditions of study populations will be respected and laws of the country upheld.
• Participation in the evaluation will involve no additional security or safety risks for participants, in light of the current context in Afghanistan.
• The content of the evaluation will be treated confidentially and only shared with CAFOD, partners and Misereor.

Required Competencies:

• A minimum master’s degree in social sciences or relevant field;
• Other training/certifications in thematic areas relevant to the project will be an asset (livelihoods, gender, behavioural change communication etc.);
• Other professional training on Research Methodology, Development Evaluation, and Impact Evaluation from recognised institutes/universities would be an asset;
• A proven track record of an ability to pragmatically apply in-depth knowledge and experiences of issues and practices in the fields of humanitarian, livelihoods and gender in Afghanistan;
• Strong computer and analytical skills with ability to write and review technical documents/ reports, conduct interviews as part of background research.

Demonstrable Skills and Experience:

• Record of publication of social research documents, evaluation reports, survey reports, study reports on livelihoods and rights issues is a strong asset;
• Experience of carrying out mixed-methods studies and evaluations and in producing high quality analytical reports (at least 2 recent reports should be submitted with the RFP);
• Strong background of statistical data analysis skills and strong proficiency with data analysis packages (in Stata or SPSS);
• Member of professional societies/forums (e.g. evaluation society) will be an asset;
• At least 6 years’ experience managing evaluations, baselines and/or assessments for community-based programmes, including since August 2021;
• Experience in delivering high quality assessments, research or evaluations for institutionally funded projects such as FCDO/DFID, EU or USAID;
• Experience working with and/or evaluating the work of national NGOs and CSOs in Afghanistan;
• A gender-balanced team (at all levels) is highly desired;
• Ability to adapt plans and approaches, sometimes at short notice;
• Fluency in English essential; ability to conduct interviews in Dari and Pashto essential.

Submissions will be reviewed and scored according to a) the criteria and considerations listed in this Terms of Reference, b) the suitability of the project plan/method statement and c) value for money.

Management and Reporting Arrangements:

The recruitment and initial briefing to the consultant will be managed by CAFOD, in consultation with the project partners.

Both in-country implementing partners will provide logistical and administrative support and guidance, including supply of relevant documentation, and help with the organisation of meetings and interviews (the financial costs of this will be covered by the consultant). Additionally required costs such as refreshments for FGDs will be paid for by partners. The consultant will be responsible for working with partner staff to arrange interviews and field visits ensuring all relevant stakeholders are available at the place and time agreed; the consultant(s) will provide facilitation of workshops, FGDs, meetings and field visits.

Deliverables will be reviewed, appraised and accepted by members of CAFOD’s Afghanistan staff, in consultation with the relevant partner staff members.

About the role:

This role’s primary purpose is to identify the needs of RDA participants, leading the implementation of innovative and relevant participation-centred programmes resulting in increased and sustained participation.

The National Programme Manager will identify, develop and bring to market good practice from across the RDA network, developing, launching and monitoring programmes.

They will enable participation programmes to be activated within multiple environments including RDA Groups and RDA Approved Centres working collaboratively across RDA Teams and British Equestrian (BEF) Member Bodies.

• Bring the RDA vision to life by creating programmes that have real, measurable impact and sustained outcomes for participants.
• Lead the activation of programmes ensuring every intervention is shaped by lived experience and insight, and genuinely relevant to the people it is intended to serve.
• Embed an outstanding and inclusive customer experience in every programme ensuring all participants, feel welcomed, supported, and empowered.
• Design and deliver RDA programmes that improve educational outcomes, are tuned into the education system across the home nation, and use best practices that reflect diverse needs and promote inclusive learning environments.
• Manage programme budgets carefully, ensuring RDA achieves value for every pound spent.
• Further development of RDA’s successful programmes (for example ‘Tea with a Pony’ and RDA Accredited Centres), prioritising reach and impact.
• Find creative and innovative ways to take RDA programmes to new audiences, removing barriers to access and opening up opportunities for more people to get involved.
• Ensure efficiency across all aspects of programme delivery, leading a consistent and methodical approach to programme development.

Collaboration and Expertise

• Act as the subject matter expert for all things related to participation programmes, keeping knowledge fresh and relevant, with inclusion and accessibility front of mind.
• Work in collaboration with the coaching team to ensure we develop coaching programmes and materials that underpin the delivery of participant programmes.
• Support the Fundraising Team at events (e.g. Badminton Horse Trials, London International Horse Show) to ensure the visibility and impact of our participation programmes.
• Ensure awareness of trends and shifts in the wider landscape, using data and insight to adapt programmes so they continue to meet the needs of all communities we serve.
• Be an active and positive member of the Participation Team—collaborating, connecting, and contributing to high team performance and inclusive working practices.
• Work with Communications and EDI colleagues to ensure programmes are visible, inclusive, and accessible at every stage.
• Support the Communications and Fundraising Teams to convey how RDA programmes improve lives, highlighting their power to deliver social, physical, and personal development outcomes for all participants.
• Provide support, knowledge and education for the RDA network to establish relations with schools, local authorities and other community partners.
