Our clients are mostly long-term unemployed and have experienced repeated rejections from multiple jobs: 40% have been unemployed for over a year, 20% have applied to over 20 jobs and 23% have applied to over 50 jobs. The majority are also from minoritised communities and face intersectional barriers to employment: 32% are lone parents, 16% consider themselves to have a disability and 52 % are from an ethnic minority.

With the support of the Greater London Authority (GLA), Smart Works is about to begin an innovative employment project to connect underrepresented women across London with high-quality job opportunities. Over the next 12 months, this project will place women directly into good work within priority sectors, whilst also helping employers build more inclusive recruitment pipelines and practices. 

The Employer Engagement Manager will be central to the success of this project. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, they will lead on employer engagement and job brokerage for Smart Works. They will act as a primary contact for the GLA, ensuring effective partnership working and the delivery of ambitious outcomes for both clients and employers.

The Initiatives and Partnerships Manager plays a key role in the Trust’s Initiatives and Partnerships Team. The post holder will support the development and implementation of the Trust’s projects, manage team members and on occasion support external and partnership projects. Our work is varied, ranging from early-stage feasibility planning, partnership development, fundraising, business planning and design development, as well as supporting our conservation team who lead construction phase oversight. 

This role builds on the successes of the Trust’s longstanding Regeneration programme, which has undertaken pioneering Regeneration projects addressing some of our most pressing conservation needs, as well as developing new operating models for some of the churches in our care. The job will support our regional teams in developing and implementing projects to deliver a range of conservation, social and regeneration benefits; with the balance of each responding to local need, demand and opportunity.

In addition, it encompasses the work undertaken to develop new commercial income opportunities. Examples are our groundbreaking Champing™ initiative, as well as others such as filming, and other commercial partnerships.

Your Role

The Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorship Manager will develop and deliver a strategy to secure, manage, and grow income from corporate supporters and sponsors. The postholder will build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with
businesses across Leeds ensuring companies see clear value in partnering with the charity through sponsorship,  fundraising, and a unique offer of CSR volunteering days at Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm.

Key responsibilities include

Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement a corporate partnerships and sponsorship strategy aligned to the charity’s overall fundraising plan.
• Identify new corporate and sponsorship prospects, building a healthy pipeline of opportunities.
• Contribute to income forecasts, reporting against agreed targets.

Business Development

• Research, approach and secure new corporate partners and sponsors across a range of sectors.
• Create tailored sponsorship packages for events, programmes and campaigns, ensuring strong return on investment for partners.
• Negotiate partnership and sponsorship agreements that deliver value for both parties.

Relationship Management

• Account manage existing partners and sponsors, ensuring excellent stewardship and high levels of satisfaction.
• Develop creative, engaging partnership activities including staff fundraising and cause-related marketing working with the Marketing Manager, promote payroll giving, volunteering and sponsorship activation.
• Work closely with the Head of Fundraising, CEO, and Trustees to maximise opportunities within their networks.

CSR and Volunteering

• Promote and manage CSR volunteering days at Leeds Children’s Charity, based at Lineham Farm, offering businesses the chance to engage their employees in meaningful, hands-on activities that directly benefit children and the charity.
• Work with delivery teams to ensure CSR days are safe, well-organised and impactful for both participants and the charity.
• Capture and report on the social value and employee engagement benefits of CSR days to strengthen long-term partnerships.

Communications and Promotion

• Work with the Marketing & Communications team to develop compelling partnership and sponsorship materials, case studies.
• Represent the charity at networking events, business forums, and community groups.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity in all corporate engagement.

What we need from you

• Excellent relationship-building and networking skills, with credibility at senior business levels.
• Strong ability to develop and deliver persuasive pitches and proposals.

The Role

The Development Assistant underpins the important work of the Development Department to raise funds from private funders, including individuals, trusts & foundations, corporate partners, and international funders. The Development Assistant directly supports the Director of Development and works across the Development department, providing strong and proactive organisational and administrative support. Variety, the Children's Charity is excited to recruit for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join the fundraising team as we launch a new multi-year partnership in January 2026. This role is a new position to support our ambitious growth to deliver award winning partnerships and raise money from corporate partners across the Northeast region. This key role on our team will ensure our work to fund life-changing practical support to disabled and disadvantaged children and young people continues across the UK.

You will be joining the charity at an exciting time as we are launching a three-year strategy to drive growth with lots of new fundraising plans in place alongside a great team and a new Director of Fundraising. You will have a large partnership in the property sector to manage, and with your experience you will develop new partners in the Northeast of England, ensuring we maximise leads and introductions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Lead account management of a large national corporate partnership, delivering a six-figure fundraising target and giving first class stewardship to ensure engagement with all staff across multiple sites in the UK

● Develop engaging marketing and communications for the partnership and develop new business materials for their suppliers and customers, to get them involved in the partnership

● Travel across regional offices for fundraising and volunteering, engaging staff and working with our beneficiary schools on engagement events

● Write and deliver quarterly impact reporting, making presentations at head office with partnership updates

● Track income and expenditure for the partnership

● Develop new business by introductions from the partnership and also work across the Northwest to develop new leads for the corporate fundraising pipeline

● Plan volunteering days for corporate partners, coordinating with our school’s network, sending briefs and attending some events to ensure smooth coordination

● Attend Variety fundraising and awareness events representing the charity and speaking confidently about our work

MAIN BENEFITS, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Location: Remote working (must be in the Northeast area) (with 2-4 days per month working from a corporate partner office in Newcastle)

Hours: 9am to 5pm, Monday - Friday

25 days holiday (we also normally give between Christmas and New Year off, but this is not contractual). In addition, after one year's continuous service, there will be an extra 2 days annual holiday added for every complete year of service, up to a maximum of five days' extra holiday.

Individual Giving Manager - Chichester Festival Theatre

The Individual Giving Manager will lead the successful planning and delivery of mid-level giving, managing schemes between £120–£4,999 annually. You will oversee donor cultivation, stewardship, and supporter communications, ensuring the highest standards of engagement and experience.

Line-managing the Senior Events Officer, you will also ensure the delivery of high-quality events that inspire and retain donors and generate fundraising income, playing an active role in developing CFT’s giving schemes and future fundraising strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Mid-level supporters

· Manage all mid-level giving schemes (£120–£4,999 annually), ensuring they remain appealing and effective

You’ll have experience of working on a major fundraising appeal, capital campaign or within a high-performing fundraising team and know what it takes to deliver brilliant donor experiences. You’ll be comfortable coordinating complex projects with lots of moving parts and stakeholders, keeping everything on track and everyone in the loop.

A sharp eye for detail and a proactive, collaborative approach are essential. You’ll enjoy working across teams, building strong relationships and making sure nothing slips through the net. You’ll also be an effective and engaging communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to pull together clear, thoughtful briefings and reports.

How and where we work

We are all expected to be in the office (SE1 2QN) 4 days a month (pro-rata for part time colleagues) to work with and alongside colleagues in our immediate team and beyond to build connections and strong working relationships. This is a senior role focused on developing and expanding Communities 1st’s enterprise activity, ensuring services are innovative, inclusive, and financially sustainable. You will have direct oversight of current enterprise services and play a pivotal role in helping other teams to develop traded offers and take a more enterprising approach to their work.

You will:

• Lead the delivery, growth, and improvement of our existing social enterprise services – including community centres, facility hire, and handyperson services.
• Drive development of new income-generating opportunities in collaboration with other teams – such as our Coffee Cart, corporate and school workshop offers, and creative venue-based initiatives.

Purpose of the Job:

To lead and develop a growing portfolio of social enterprise services that generate income, increase social value, and support our charitable mission. The role focuses on both direct service management and cross-team collaboration to stimulate innovation, scale, and sustainability across our wider work.

General Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and strategic development of all community-focussed enterprise services.
• Identify and implement opportunities to grow and diversify income across multiple service areas.
• Support other teams to explore and develop enterprise elements aligned to their goals and communities.
• Ensure all enterprise services are inclusive, well-managed, and aligned with organisational values and impact objectives..

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Line Management

• Lead and support a multidisciplinary team delivering community enterprise services, including facilities, traded services, and community-based projects.
• Provide coaching, supervision, and performance management to direct reports.
• Foster a high-performing, inclusive, and values-led team culture.

Enterprise Strategy & Development

• Develop and evolve business plans and service models that balance social mission and financial sustainability.
• Drive innovation and service improvement across enterprise areas, identifying opportunities for growth, diversification, and increased impact.
• Support other departments (e.g. Creative, Wellbeing, Volunteering) to explore and implement income-generating opportunities such as events, workshops, and training.
• Promote enterprise services and offers to target markets including local businesses, schools, and community organisations.

Finance & Operational Management

• Oversee budgets, purchasing, pricing, and income tracking in line with finance policies and delegated authority.
• Ensure effective systems for stock, asset, and facilities management are in place.
• Use performance data to inform decision-making and improve quality, efficiency, and impact.

Supported Volunteering and Employment

• Work with the Wellbeing, Employment & Skills team to offer inclusive volunteering and work placement opportunities within enterprise services.
• Support volunteers and participants to develop confidence, skills, and pathways to employment or further involvement.
• Ensure person-centred, inclusive practice is embedded across enterprise operations.

Marketing, Sales & Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to raise the profile of enterprise offers and increase reach and take-up.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders including businesses, schools, and community partners.
• Develop productive working relationships with suppliers, delivery partners, and venues to support joint initiatives and operational effectiveness.

Quality

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice, and learning.
• Lead the implementation of standard operating procedures and embed quality assurance processes across enterprise activities.
