The Role 

As Head of Finance, you’ll be a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, shaping our financial strategy, strengthening our income generation plans, and ensuring our systems and controls are high performing and compliant.

On occasion, you’ll also deputise for the CEO and play a central role in delivering business priorities.

As Service Manager for our Lambeth PRS and Refugee Resettlement services (maternity cover), you’ll step into a visible, high-impact leadership role overseeing two established teams supporting families resettled in Lambeth through government refugee schemes and people transitioning from rough sleeping into private rented or social housing.

The Finance team provides finance and budgeting support to staff, managers and members of PCS. The department is about to embark on a digital transformation that will modernise how the Finance department operates for the Union. Purpose of the job:

Management and leadership of the PCS Finance Team and the provison of strategic financial advice to the National Executive Committee and other bodies.

Responsible for the management of the compilation and production of all management accounts, PCS annual audit, budgets, cash-flow and financial planning reports and annual reports.

Main duties and responsibilities

1.People Management

• Manage work allocation and workflow, future planning and support for Finance Team and Director of Central Services
• Motivate and manage individuals and the team as a whole to provide a high standard of service to develop and improve the skills and efficiency of the Finance team
• Check work standards and maintain consistent quality of delegated tasks
• Seek to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team

• Provide straightforward access to budgets for all budget holders to facilitate better planning and cash flow management
• Ensure resources are optimised to enable good decision-making across each command area
• Review and update where necessary current audit processes to ensure compliance with the Trade Union Certification Officer

5.Operational Management

6. Group and Branch Funding

• Oversee PCS work with Special Member Auditors to ensure the completion of union group and branch audit procedures in line with rules and Finance Committee requirements
• Provide assistance to group and branch treasurers, including training courses
• Provide reports as required for the Finance Committee
• Ensure expenses are paid in line with Service Level Agreement requirements

7. Finance Training and good practice

• Participate in the dissemination of financial knowledge across the union. Organise and participate in periodic financial training programmes for budget-holders, treasurers and members

8. Communication

• Draft complex communications including briefs, reports, business cases, for internal and external stakeholders
• Draft papers, policies and regulations in relation to financial management
• Communicate with members by producing circulars and briefings, and by addressing meetings and conferences etc
• Represent PCS where necessary and liaise with outside professional bodies such as auditors

We are seeking an ambitious, driven and visionary Head of Fundraising to lead our expanding team at a pivotal moment in our journey. As we launch our new three-year fundraising strategy, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a growing charity and play a leading role in delivering sustainable income that directly supports local children and families.

With the backing of an engaged Board of Trustees and a passionate, committed team, you will provide strategic leadership across all income streams. You will guide and inspire our small but high-performing fundraising team to grow and diversify income — strengthening individual giving through innovative donor acquisition and impactful campaigns, while also supporting the development of our corporate partnerships, community fundraising and events programmes. Line Manager: Provisionally the Chairman of the board of trustees

Accountable to: Provisionally the Pepper Foundation board of trustees

Primary objectives: The Head of Fundraising manages a small, expanding team to deliver sustainable fundraising income. Hours: 30 – 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility on when hours are worked.

Salary: £46000-£50000 FTE Pro Rata (depending on experience).

Pension: We make a 5% contribution to your pension with a minimum of 3% from the employee based on salary paid. Benefits: Mileage allowance in accordance with HMRC guidelines, provision of laptop and mobile phone for performance of duties, reimbursement of work expenses and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Specialisms: The Head of Fundraising will specialise in increasing income through donor development and legacy fundraising whilst having a good, general understanding of community, corporate, events and challenge fundraising.

Office location: Your primary place of work will be at home, but significant time will be spent out and about meeting supporters and colleagues. Pepper has access to meeting facilities and a small operational base in Berkhamsted.

Zoe’s Place is seeking a Head of Fundraising to lead our team of fantastic fundraisers at the Middlesbrough Hospice. This position presents an excellent opportunity to join the Charity during a pivotal period in its development.

Zoe’s Place is unique, we are the only baby specific Hospices in the U.K., with hospices located in Middlesbrough and Coventry and strive to promote and maintain our commitment to the local communities in each area.

The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage the fundraising team, supporting income generation to successfully meet annual objectives. The individual in this role will oversee the strategic planning and execution of all fundraising initiatives at our Middlesbrough Hospice.

About you 

We’re looking for a Client Services Manager to lead our reception teams across two PDSA sites:

• Edmonton Green (N9 9AA) – 3 days per week
• Hendon (NW4 4JU) – 2 days per week 

This role involves regular travel between both locations, so flexibility and confidence working across multiple sites is essential.

You’ll manage a team of 10 receptionists who provide cover 7 days a week, ensuring high standards of customer service are delivered consistently, both in person and remotely.

Role purpose

Variety, the Children’s Charity is looking for a Head of People and Culture to lead and deliver all aspects of the charity’s people strategy. Part of the Operations Team, this is an exciting role combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational HR management. The postholder will be experienced in driving forward new strategies, ensuring Variety has robust, compliant and people centered practices in place. This role will support a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture which is aligned to Variety’s mission and values.

This is a new role at Variety during an exciting time as we develop and launch a new three-year strategy later this year and invest in our people and culture. The staff team at Variety has grown over the last year, reflecting the charity’s ambitious strategy to double charitable expenditure over the next three years. The Role

BPT is looking to recruit a Head of Finance who will manage a small finance team and be responsible for the financial systems and accounting of BPT and its 3 subsidiaries to ensure the sound financial management of these organisations.

As Head of Finance, you will also oversee the effective delivery of many of BPT’s administrative operations to enable the smooth running of the charity group and support the Chief Executive and senior leadership team with financial information; advising on financial strategies that align with the charities’ objectives.

You will report to the Chief Executive and work closely with staff throughout BPT, the Board of Trustees and the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

About you

To succeed in this role you will:

• Be a qualified accountant or QBE with substantial financial and management accounting experience.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrable experience of leading and engaging with finance and other corporate functions to develop a mature and rounded service.
• Have an excellent understanding of financial and management accounting processes, financial reporting and audit planning as well as being adept at managing both your own and your team’s priorities.
• Working with the Leadership team, you will be a strong leader able to communicate well with your peers and teams members and have resilience to adapt quickly to changing priorities and demands from internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of SORP, Charity law and VAT
