Job description

Operations Manager - Responsive Repairs (Stratford): £65,000 per annum

Goodman Masson delighted to be partnering with Local Space, an ambitious and values-driven housing association, to recruit an exceptional Operations Manager – Responsive Repairs. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that is genuinely making a difference by providing safe, high-quality homes for people experiencing homelessness across London and Essex.

Reporting directly to the Head of Asset Delivery, this is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for shaping and driving the delivery of responsive repairs across a diverse housing portfolio. You'll lead the operational performance of Responsive Repairs, Voids, Legal Disrepair & Insurance, and Healthy Homes, ensuring services are efficient, compliant, customer-focused and deliver outstanding outcomes for residents.

This is far more than a traditional repairs management role. You'll have the opportunity to influence strategy, lead service transformation, and play a key role in ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of regulatory compliance, particularly around damp and mould management and Awaab's Law. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll provide assurance to the Executive Team and Board while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence and value for money.

Leading a team of experienced Contracts Surveyors and Asset Delivery Officers, you'll oversee contractor performance, manage significant operational budgets, mitigate legal disrepair and insurance risks, and use data and performance insight to enhance service delivery. You'll also champion an exceptional customer experience, ensuring residents receive a responsive, high-quality repairs service that helps them feel safe and secure in their homes.

This role would suit an experienced operational leader from a housing association, local authority or wider social housing environment who has a strong background in responsive repairs, contract management and service improvement. You'll be someone who enjoys leading high-performing teams, thrives on driving change and is passionate about delivering services that genuinely improve people's lives.

Local Space is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation, underpinned by a strong social purpose and an ambitious corporate strategy. Their culture is built around collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement, making this an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to step into a highly influential leadership role where they can make a tangible impact on both residents and the wider organisation.

If you're looking for a role that combines operational leadership, strategic influence and genuine social purpose, or know someone who is, I'd love to speak with you.
