We are looking for a Senior Strategic Evidence & Engagement Manager to join our team. We need you to accelerate our impact by driving the translation of early diagnosis, treatment and innovation evidence into policy and practice, through planning, delivery and oversight of a comprehensive, proactive content and comms plan across a range of health professional and health system audiences and channels.
What will I be doing?
Driving the development of our early diagnosis, treatment and innovation content and resources for a range of health professional and health system audiences, making the most of what we know and have and ensuring key messages are reaching our audiences and having an impact
Developing and overseeing the delivery of an internal and external content plan, profiling Cancer Research UK's thought leadership across different areas of the cancer pathway and facilitating the translation of evidence into policy and practice
Building strong relationships with key content, audience and communications teams in both the development and delivery of the plan
Maintaining oversight of resource development, such as those aimed at health professionals, and ensuring a strategically-relevant and impactful portfolio of content and resources
Liaising with evidence and health system engagement teams to identify and drive opportunities to support health systems audiences across the cancer pathway, bringing creativity, insight and positivity to the task
Leading on the review and design transformation of our existing health professional webpages
Managing communications on behalf of the Strategic Evidence team to key audiences, both internally and externally
Contributing to content sign-off with a focus on impact, accessibility, tone of voice and design
Developing and managing direct reports, including setting clear development objectives and appraising performance.

About the role
As Facilities & Governance Coordinator you will act as a first point of contact in our London office, and work in collaboration with the Governance team across their full range of activities, and consult regularly with the rest of the organisation, Trustees and Members. The Climate and Environment Lead is based in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team of the Programme Support & Knowledge team (PSK), a key unit of the WaterAid UK International Programmes Department (IPD) operating in 17 African and Asian countries. PSK is a diverse and motivated group of 20+ technical specialists and advisors, passionate about bringing sustainable WASH to the world's poorest and most marginalised people. PSK leads and supports organisation-wide programme learning and knowledge management, collating and disseminating programme knowledge and facilitating knowledge exchange.
The team provides technical advisory expertise and fosters and supports internal and external programme and technical partnerships and networks. The team also leads on developing normative programme documents and standards and advise and support the delivery of a programme capacity enhancement strategy. PSK collaborates with many functions across the organisation including policy, advocacy, campaigns, fundraising, communications, as well as with WaterAid partners and collaborators.
About the Role:
The Climate and Environment Lead is a leadership position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the head of the team. The Climate and Environment Lead is accountable for the strategic development and effective delivery of the core team responsibilities on climate resilience and environmental sustainability for high quality WASH programming in both urban and rural, low-income settings, incorporating WaterAid's and the sector's leading practices, innovations and methods.
Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, she/he leads the provision of high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid's programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.
In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, she/he leads the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and leads the development of relevant standards and guidance. She/he also provides high quality strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.
The Climate and Environment Lead has substantial autonomy in determining what the technical objectives are and how they are delivered and achieved. - A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience.
