The contract terms:
• Permanent contract
• £75,000 - £80,000 per annum with Benefits
• Our full time hours are 35 hours per week, but we are passionate about flexible working - talk to us about your preferences. Due to the nature of our work, occasional weekend working may be required with time off in lieu given.
• Hybrid working: Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. This role is linked to our Ewell (Surrey) office with a blend of home working and option to work out of our London office as required.

The Motability Foundation is seeking a proactive Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement professional to join the Communications team and help drive forward our public affairs and wider engagement activity.
Reflecting the current dynamic political environment, we are looking for a driven Executive to play a critical role in promoting and enhancing awareness of the Motability Foundation among key political stakeholders, as well as wider audiences across the disability sector, transport operators, and other relevant stakeholder groups.
What you will be doing:
- Supporting the implementation of public affairs activities aligned with the Motability Foundation’s vision and overall strategy.
- Amplifying the Motability Foundation’s voice in Parliament, across the devolved nations, by supporting political engagement work under the guidance of the Public Affairs Manager
- Monitoring the political, legislative and regulatory landscapes in relation to the work of the Motability Foundation and providing timely updates to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Providing updates on relevant political developments and drafting briefings for Governors, Directors, senior management and a variety of audiences across the organisation where appropriate.
- Supporting the delivery of a contact program with key stakeholders, raising awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation, supporting work to establish regular meetings for senior leaders and facilitating dialogue on issues relevant to our work.
- Working closely with colleagues across the Public Affairs and Policy functions to prepare materials to support our work to communicate policy positions and outputs to the external world.
- Building and maintaining external stakeholder relationships with key audiences, including disabled people’s organisations, disability charities, transport sector stakeholders, and wider industry bodies.
- Working with colleagues across Branding and Marketing to support the creation of written literature for key audiences to communicate the impact of the Foundation’s work.
Your experience:
Must haves
- Solid grasp of parliamentary processes in Westminster and the Devolved Nations, and familiarity with wider Parliamentary functions and vehicles – e.g. All Party Parliamentary and Cross-Party Groups.
- Prior experience of working in public affairs or similar field.
- Experience of regular political monitoring and familiarity with utilising political monitoring services - i.e. DeHavilland, Polimonitor or similar.
- Ability to advance projects independently with appropriate support from senior team members, while contributing effectively to team efforts.
- Experience of producing briefing notes for stakeholder meetings and updating on policy developments for a variety of audiences.
- Comfortable drafting written communications designed for political audiences – i.e. emails, letters, briefing notes.
- Ability to proactively identify opportunities to influence policy and shape political activity.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to grasp complex issues quickly and share information in an accessible way to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders in Government, industry, and other charities and foundations, particularly via written communications.
- Highly IT literate with extensive experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice to haves:
- Understanding of key disability and transport issues, such as the social model of disability, inclusive micro mobility, or the transition to electric vehicles.
- Experience of supporting the delivery of pre-election engagement and post-election political outreach activity to political stakeholders.
- Prior experience in working with third sector stakeholders.

We are seeking a creative and proactive Communications and Marketing Coordinator to play a pivotal role in telling Theatres Trust’s story, and the stories of the theatres we support, to a wider audience.
Working with the Head of Communications and Marketing, you will support the development and delivery of Theatres Trust’s communications strategy and contribute to embedding our brand and tone of voice across all our communications. A central part of the role will be working with our sector specialists to turn complex, detailed and technical information into compelling case studies to promote our services and highlight our impact to key stakeholders across the theatre sector and beyond.
You will be responsible for producing two of Theatres Trust’s key communications products: Theatres Magazine, our digital publication for supporters, and NewsDigest, our monthly e-newsletter, as well as helping to develop our social and digital channels. There will also be the opportunity for you to take the lead on the full communications lifecycle of specific projects such as grant programmes and events.
For someone with a passion for the power of words and a strong eye for design, this is an interesting and varied role, offering the scope to develop and enhance your skills across the full range of communications and marketing disciplines. Overview of Training Courses
In 2021, the Geological Society embarked on a journey by introducing its highly anticipated training courses, following a successful trial in 2020. Since then, these courses have become a cornerstone of knowledge dissemination within the geological community, covering a spectrum of topics, and have experienced a surge in participation. This widespread interest reflects the industry's recognition of the invaluable insights and skills that can be gained from these training programs taught by experts in the field.
Training courses have become a beacon of excellence within the geological community. Their success, marked by increasing participation and the positive impact on professional development, reaffirms the Society's dedication to advancing knowledge of geoscience and fostering a community of skilled and knowledgeable practitioners. They have also become an important part of our financial strategy; the continued growth of our training course income will help the Society continue to thrive.
Our training courses are mostly online and delivered by subject matter experts.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Take overall responsibility within the Events Team for our Training Courses programme, from promotion to delivery, and achieving our net income targets.
- Develop effective working relationships with society stakeholders, events team, Training Course Committee, Professional Committee, Chartership Officer and wider teams at the society including Publishing House to maximise opportunities for courses.
- Lead on Training Course Committee meetings creating agendas and keeping members regularly informed.
- Report on key areas in the Professional Committee meeting.
- Successfully meet annual sales target for Training courses providing regular feedback on performance to Head of Events and Training Course Committee.
- Work closely with our Marketing Executive to prepare detailed marketing plans and high-quality campaign content for promoting courses to delegates.
- Total end to end management of course speakers, ensuring these relationships are nurtured and all documentation is processed promptly and accurately.
- Ensure that all courses are accessible and organised to Society standards.
