About You:

Title: Head of People and Talent

Nature of the Role: 0.8 FTE or Full time. Permanent (fixed term considered if preferable)

Working Pattern: Minimum of 3 days per week on campus if full time (2 days a week if contracted to 0.8 FTE)

Core Hours from 10am - 4pm

Annual Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (pro-rata)

Pension: Workplace pension, employer contribution @ 10%

Holidays: 27 days per annum (with 3 additional days reserved for Christmas and New Year closure days)  [pro-rata for part time]

Location: London (Pimlico)

What’s your mission?

In this role you will embody Ada’s culture, being responsible for the wellbeing of the staff and attracting new talent as well as providing effective leadership and line management of the People function. Reporting directly into the CEO, you will act as a trusted, strategic partner, ensuring alignment on both organisation and people capabilities, fostering a culture of high performance and growth. You will regularly attend Executive Leadership Team (ELT) meetings and engage with Board Members and have the opportunity to harness the experience and expertise of some of our private sector pro bono supporters to drive forward the vital People Management agenda at Ada, which is a core pillar of our ‘Evolving to Ada 2.0’ strategy and critical to scaling our impact.

You will be responsible for leading the People and Talent team across our London and Manchester campuses, and ensuring relevant processes are followed as well as driving forward people management priorities and initiatives. This is a hands-on operational role that will also stretch your strategic thinking and planning skills. The role is expected to evolve in seniority as you build out the team underneath you in line with the College’s planned growth in learner volumes and staff headcount. The postholder will be expected to make regular visits to the college’s campus in Manchester/London.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

● Management -

○ Partner the Executive Leadership Team to lead on the implementation of Ada’s people management strategy as part of our new organisational strategy.

○ You will set clear priorities and focus areas for the People team, effectively managing performance, and supporting development.

○ Provide effective day-to-day support for the Executive Leadership Team and line managers to ensure the College runs smoothly, is attracting ever an ever better quality of candidates for vacant roles and is HR compliant at all times.

○ Design and implement initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and retention, promoting a positive and inclusive culture for Ada.

● Building our Employer Brand -

○ Working with internal and external stakeholders, work to ensure we significantly improve our ability to attract and retain the best talent in a competitive market.

  Create a transparent and authentic brand externally to help Ada to welcome more amazing people.

● Employee Relations -

○ Advise line managers and staff on best practices for managing employee relation cases and conflict resolution using external best practice and up to date legislation.

○ Partner with the ELT on complex, high risk cases or disputes to deliver a pragmatic outcome that reduces risk to Ada.

○ Stay up to date with relevant employment laws and regulations, and ensure compliance in all employee activities while upholding Ada’s organisational values.

● Policies & Procedures -

○ Provide support and guidance to line managers and the Executive Leadership Team. Acting as a trusted advisor in all cases including performance management, conflict resolution and disciplinary cases ensuring Ada’s policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

○ Act as the leader on topics/requests related to policies, employment law and compliance.

○ Ensure policies and procedures are reviewed regularly and are up to date.

● Systems & Processes -

○ Provide support on change management programmes including restructures, ensuring change processes are implemented smoothly and risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner.

○ Drive adoption of the recently implemented HR platform (i.e. AccessHR). Ensure all staff adhere to the agreed processes including performance management.

    Plans are to effectively link performance management to reward and recognition.

○ Proactively review existing processes and identify areas to introduce efficiencies.

● Diversity & Inclusion - Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, and lead on the implementation of the EDI action plan. In time, evolve this into a more formal strategy that ensures Ada remains an inclusive and welcoming employer across our campuses for all our staff and other stakeholders.

Key Skills and experience required

• A minimum of 4 years previous People/HR generalist and partnering experience preferably with some experience of working in schools, colleges, universities, training providers or education management organisations.
•  Level 7 CIPD qualified, or similar experience is essential Demonstrable experience of improving talent attraction, selection and development
•  Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of UK employment law and experience in handling complex ER cases, Employment Tribunals, ACAS Conciliations and Settlements. 
•  Demonstrable experience of working with leaders on complex people related issues.
•  High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
•  Evidence of delivering HR solutions, including strategic HR initiatives and change projects.
• Strong problem solving and decision making ability, with a proactive and solutions oriented mindset and approach.
• Excellent leadership skills with a track record of building and/or maintaining a high-performance culture and role modelling excellent behaviours.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
•  Highly collaborative with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the function, showing a united front to stakeholders.
•  Ability to balance commercial outcomes with mitigation of business risks.
•  Willingness to travel to the different College sites on a monthly basis, often involving overnight stays
•  A personal commitment to safeguarding and learner/colleague wellbeing.

As a Team UK Programmes Officer, you’ll play a key part in keeping things running smoothly across all programme areas. You’ll coordinate the delivery of services for Team UK competitors, friends and family, games guests, volunteers, ambassadors and Team UK Alumni.

As the need for our Recovery Services continues to grow, and as part of our ambitious new strategy, we’re expanding our team to reach even more members of the Armed Forces Community. You will work in collaboration with the Recovery Services colleagues to deliver powerful, high-impact Recovery Pathways that help veterans, serving personnel and their families overcome physical and psychological challenges.

Key responsibilities:

- Event coordination: provide support before, during and after Team UK Recovery Service events including Team UK’s participation at the Invictus Games, ensuring a high quality experience for beneficiaries and their families. - Keep up to date with available support from RBL, statutory and local providers.
- Build relationships with friends and family members, encouraging engagement and act as a liaison between internal and external services.

You will be contracted to your home address, and you will perform most of your work remotely using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues. There will be regular travel nationally to attend events, training or meetings, with a potential for international travel in the future.

The successful candidate will be based from home with a requirement to travel to partner schools and business sites in and around Hampshire (mainly within an hour of Portsmouth). Working with secondary schools to provide early support programmes, core delivery time is usually within the school working day and during school terms only. All other working hours can be managed with flexibility by the post holder to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed as required.

For over a century we’ve been helping former service personnel deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Camp Jojo is currently in transition. Over the first 8 years it has worked from one established site in Mersea, Essex; but we are now opening a second site (Nag’s Head Farm) near Appleby in Cumbria. The role of Volunteer Manager (Nags Head Farm) is to provide the management and administration of the key Volunteer sector of Camp Jojo, and to offer administrative support and feedback to members of the Camp Jojo Board in this regard.

The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for successful initial contact, recruitment, communication with and administration of volunteer for the Nag’s Head Farm camps, through to their successful placement at camp. They will also work closely with the Operations Manager: Families and Site Ops. (Nags Head Farm). They will be guided in their role with the existing managers at Ivy Farm, Mersea, Essex.

The primary task of the Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will be to oversee the whole process of Volunteer applications to camps at Nag’s Head Farm, and to maintain and develop databases in support of this. They will be the contact point for information and support throughout the Nag’s Head Farm volunteers’ pathway with Camp Jojo. In addition, they will attend and minute meetings which concern volunteer management, etc.

They may need to work flexibly; the demands will be seasonal, with many more hours needed through spring and summer than autumn and winter. They will also need to be present for the first day of the camps during the summer, which are mostly during the school holidays. The Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will have a varied and sometimes high-paced job environment. As such, they will need to handle multiple tasks, manage their own time well, and interact professionally

The Head of Families and Children’s Services will provide senior leadership and strategic direction across services that support families, parents, children, and young people. The role will ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based interventions that promote wellbeing, strengthen family resilience, and safeguard vulnerable children.

This postholder will oversee Perinatal Coaching, Crisis Outreach, Family Hubs, and Parenting Programs, embedding a culture of excellence, innovation, and partnership working to achieve meaningful outcomes for families.

High Trees Community Development Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Community Action to join our senior management team and lead one of our core service areas.

This is an exciting and important role within our work, continually shaped by the needs and priorities of the communities we work alongside. While the focus of our Community Action service evolves year on year, it always centres on social action, capacity building, and strengthening community voice.

This coming year will see this work expand rapidly, following High Trees’ successful bid to deliver the local authority contract for capacity building support to voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations across Lambeth. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in this area – although more important are the leadership, skills and aptitude to successfully oversee the delivery of this vital workstream. The service also plays a central role in driving forward social action within our flagship partnerships, including Building Young Brixton, the Lambeth Peer Action Collective, and the Lambeth Community Research Network – helping to ensure communities take a leading role in action linked to research and advocacy.

The Head of Community Action leads on a diverse range of areas, which shift each year in response to community needs and opportunities to strengthen civic voice and local infrastructures. In recent years, this has included supporting residents to lead community organising campaigns to improve the built environment, coordinating digital inclusion initiatives during the Covid-19 pandemic, capacity building Tenants and Residents Associations and supporting the creation of local neighbourhood plans that put residents’ voices at the centre of decision-making.

• Oversee a portfolio of projects and contracts, ensuring they are delivered to time, budget, and quality.
• Drive forward High Trees’ new local authority contract for capacity building support across Lambeth’s VCS.

As a membership organisation, the role of Head of Membership & Impact is crucial to the core mission of our charity, and forms part of our core team, working closely with both our CEO and Head of Partnerships & Grants, with support from your line reports.

Membership: You will oversee our membership process of our 170 members, from new joiners to member training and networking provision. The responsibilities of membership are varied, but include

• Ensuring a rigorous membership onboarding, survey and renewal process
• Designing and facilitating a comprehensive membership and events offer that meets members’ needs and fulfills our commitments from funders;
• Maintaining strong direct relationships with members, and overseeing the work with supplementary schools  

Impact & Communications: You will lead YCF’s impactful communications and reporting. Responsibility areas will include:

• Overseeing YCF’s collection and effective use of our CRM and data, including about members
• Developing and writing effective and impactful reporting and storytelling of YCF’s work
• Embedding effective communications across YCF’s team
• Overseeing YCF’s online presence, including social media and our website

Youth engagement: Finally, you will oversee YCF’s youth engagement, via the following areas:

• Overseeing the delivery of our Young Ambassadors programme, in coordination with a leading youth social action provider, in line with best practice
• Facilitate and develop impactful opportunities for young Camdeners to have a say in decisions that impact them

You will also be a key leader at YCF and a core member of the SMT, managing two part-time staff members. You will champion the areas of membership, impact and communications and youth engagement across YCF and with external stakeholders. You will be called upon to represent the organisation in key spaces, including with Camden Council, key funders, and elsewhere.

Young Camden Foundation is a registered charity, established in 2017. Essential and desirable criteria

The essential criteria we are looking for are as follows:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience of report writing
• Confidence and experience in handling data, and generating reports from data
• Experience of using Salesforce, Mailchimp / similar CRM effectively
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to successful manage a busy and diverse workload
• Experience generating and leading on social media / website content
• A commitment to the core values of YCF’s work: collaboration, community, equality and sustainability
• A collaborative approach to work
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

It would also be desirable, but not essential, if the candidate has:

• Previous experience working with voluntary and community groups and/or public sector organisations
• Experience working with young people

• Experience planning, facilitating and delivering events
• Experience of design software, such as Canva

Unfold is an established local charity, supporting young people and families in Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea to get where they want to be, identifying and achieving their goals through mentoring and peer support.   

For over 35 years, we have been supporting people who face social injustice, from families seeking asylum and young people excluded from school to women rebuilding confidence after hardship. About the Role

We’re looking for a Programme Coordinator who is passionate about supporting young people and committed to social change.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll coordinate Unfold’s mentoring programmes, from recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer mentors to assessing and matching young people. You’ll also play a key role in delivering our weekly Youth Support Groups for young people seeking asylum, developing partnerships, and ensuring each mentoring journey is well-supported, safe, and impactful.

You’ll work closely with the Programme Manager and a small, dynamic team to help us deliver a quality, inclusive service that puts young people’s needs at the centre.

About You

You’ll bring:
