Our clients are mostly long-term unemployed and have experienced repeated rejections from multiple jobs: 40% have been unemployed for over a year, 20% have applied to over 20 jobs and 23% have applied to over 50 jobs. The majority are also from minoritised communities and face intersectional barriers to employment: 32% are lone parents, 16% consider themselves to have a disability and 52 % are from an ethnic minority.

With the support of the Greater London Authority (GLA), Smart Works is about to begin an innovative employment project to connect underrepresented women across London with high-quality job opportunities. Over the next 12 months, this project will place women directly into good work within priority sectors, whilst also helping employers build more inclusive recruitment pipelines and practices. 

The Employer Engagement Manager will be central to the success of this project. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, they will lead on employer engagement and job brokerage for Smart Works. They will act as a primary contact for the GLA, ensuring effective partnership working and the delivery of ambitious outcomes for both clients and employers.

The Head of Fundraising will lead all fundraising activities, overseeing the full spectrum of income generation to support our mission of empowering young people through football and education. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead on fundraising for an organisation which has barely scratched the surface of the fundraising landscape. There is autonomy over the direction of travel with a lot of support from the CEO on ideas and future programmes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Strategic Fundraising Leadership

o Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to grow income across all streams, aligning with the Foundation’s goals.

o Set long-term targets for income growth, monitoring progress and adapting strategies to capitalise on emerging opportunities.

o Act as a key ambassador, representing the Foundation at senior-level meetings with funders and corporate leaders to secure support.

· Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory Funding

o Lead on securing multi-year grants from major trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies, producing compelling applications and stewardship reports.

o Manage a portfolio of high-value trust relationships, cultivating new leads and ensuring personalised engagement to maximise funding.

o Oversee statutory funding bids, including government departments and local authorities, to support programme.

· Philanthropy, Major Donors, and Individual Giving

o Build and steward a portfolio of major donors and philanthropists, networking to identify prospects and delivering tailored proposals to secure gifts.

o Develop individual giving campaigns, including digital appeals and supporter journeys, to grow recurring donations and engage a broader donor base.

o Foster long-term relationships through personalised stewardship, ensuring high levels of donor satisfaction and retention.

· Corporate Partnerships and Brand Collaborations

o Secure corporate partnerships for sponsorships, employee volunteering, and content production, leveraging the Foundation’s football focus to attract partners.

o Collaborate with the marketing team to align corporate engagement with brand visibility and impact storytelling.

o Negotiate and manage partnerships that provide financial support, in-kind contributions, or co-branded initiatives to enhance programme delivery.

· Events and Community Fundraising

o Plan and oversee fundraising events, such as corporate football tournaments, charity matches, and supporter evenings, to raise funds and build engagement.

o Manage event logistics, budgets, and partnerships to ensure successful delivery and measurable ROI.

· Digital Fundraising and Innovation

o Support digital fundraising strategies, including online campaigns, social media appeals, and email marketing to grow donor acquisition and retention.

o Champion the use of AI and new technologies to optimise fundraising processes, such as personalised donor communications and data analysis.

o Ensure robust data management in CRM systems to track donor interactions, compliance with GDPR, and fundraising performance.

· Team Management and Cross-Team Collaboration

o Work with programme delivery, marketing, and operations teams to create compelling propositions and gather impact data for fundraising materials.

Head of Programmes is a key role with significant scope to grow as the charity evolves. You’ll lead on the day-to-day delivery of our programmes, including our largest single programme, Maths Circles: a small-group-based maths enrichment programme engaging talented young mathematicians nationwide. You will coordinate a large community of volunteers as well as our in-house team of part-time and freelance staff to deliver an excellent experience for students, parents, tutors and partners.

You will need to be genuinely enthusiastic about using our CRM and Google Sheets to track progress and excited about martialling the charity’s data to communicate clearly with colleagues, partners and trustees. You will take ownership of programme reporting and KPIs, using insights to identify and implement delivery improvements and demonstrate impact.

You will communicate regularly with our diverse community – including speaking directly to young people and parents to resolve issues, recruiting and training education professionals and meeting with partners to organise and manage projects. Beyond programme delivery, you’ll play a crucial part in fundraising, communications, recruitment and planning and will occasionally deputise for the Foundation Director in representing the charity externally.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Programme Management to lead the delivery of two flagship initiatives, Inside Job and Choirs Beating Time. You will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, consistent delivery across prisons and the community.

You will be based in Birmingham or London. Expensed travel will be part of the role to attend our prisons, for partner meetings and organisational collaboration. It’s essential you can drive, and you have access to a car. We also have a long-standing partnership based in Newcastle.

Working closely with the CEO and COO, you’ll help shape operational strategy, refine delivery processes, and scale the impact of our peer-led employment and music-based rehabilitation programmes. This is a leadership role at the heart of an innovative, mission-driven organisation committed to supporting people leaving prison into meaningful work and purposeful lives.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to obtain security clearance from the Ministry of Justice to work within prisons. This clearance enables team members to have key access and carry out their duties safely and effectively.

About the role

Reporting in to the Global Head of Programme Policy and Practice, the Programme & Partnerships Lead is pivotal to the design and impact success of signature programmes. It works closely with Multi Country Clusters (MCC) to do so, including the design of MEAL frameworks to support monitoring and evidence capture. 

Working with MCC leadership the post-holder will identify areas for support and make appropriate links with enabling functions. Across MCC programme portfolios this role will provide support to ensure a coherent application of our partnership principles and alignment with organisational values and goals. 

The role provides leadership to the team which includes MEAL, a Programme Portfolio Advisor, and a Civil Society and Faith specialist to help deliver high-impact programmes with an emphasis on decolonial approaches and methodologies. The role spearheads localisation and CSO approach as an underpinning ethos of the new organisational mode.

Some of the main responsibilities of the Programme & Partnerships Lead include:

• Inspire and motivate the team and colleagues in the Programme Policy and Practice division to support MCC’s, to drive meaningful impact.
• Work across Departments to support the design of signature programmes, including building connections across the MCCs, developing an appropriate MEAL framework and ensuring effective reporting and links to Organisational Effectiveness.
• Work with the Global MEAL Advisor and Organisational Effectiveness Department to commission internal and external impact evaluations and research for signature programmes and the wider unrestricted funding portfolio; this will include a focus on decolonial approaches to evaluation.
• With an emphasis on signature programmes work with IPE and MCCs to identify opportunities for the further development of signature programmes.

Summary /overall purpose

We are seeking an energetic, highly organised and proactive individual to join our friendly team. As the Research Programmes Coordinator, you will work closely with the Director of Patient and Clinical Research Programmes and the wider research team, playing a key role in the smooth delivery of our diverse research initiatives and events.

You will be at the centre of coordinating the administration of patient events, workshops, high-profile conferences and other events, ensuring they run seamlessly. In addition, you will be responsible for keeping the research portfolio tracking system up to date. The role also involves providing administrative support to the research team as needed.

Main responsibilities

· Scientific & Patient Event Management: Support the end-to-end project management of scientific events, conferences, symposiums and patient workshops ensuring smooth execution, timely delivery, and alignment with strategic goals.

· Research Programme Administration & Portfolio Management: Provide administrative and operational support across the Foundation’s research portfolio, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and documentation.

This role will be part of the core team working to ensure that our projects reach the communities who need them most, supporting partners, improving programme processes, and contributing to Jangala’s organisational learning as we aim to deliver socially impactful internet to 4 million people by 2030.

Reporting to the Head of Programmes, you will be part of Jangala’s programmes department, which leads the delivery of our donor-funded work, deploying Jangala’s award-winning technology and developing and nurturing partnerships with grassroots organisations, charities, local authorities, and international agencies.

Supporting Jangala’s community of existing partners who are using Big Box and Get Box technology to connect communities will also be an important part of what you do. The Head of Fellowship is responsible for the delivery of the Churchill Fellowship’s annual Fellowship Programme, overseeing all stages from pre-application support, through selection and award, to Fellows’ global learning. Overseas Learning:

We are looking for a candidate with strong budget oversight and organisational skills to join our small team and be our lead for Camden's Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, a national programme funded by the Department for Education. With the support of YCF's Head of Partnerships & Grants and CEO, you will oversee and manage a significant budget, and all project management aspects of the programme, to ensure excellent, high-quality provision for Camden's Free School Meal eligible children and young people. 

In August 2025, the programme was extended nationally by the DfE for an additional three years, and we await confirmation as to the exact allocation for Camden, which would hopefully enable us to extend this role to a three year contract to 2029. 

About the HAF programme in Camden and this role

Young Camden Foundation has been Camden Council’s delivery partner for the national, Department for Education funded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme since its inception in 2021. The programme distributes around £800,000 per year to support Free School Meal eligible children and young people in the borough across the main holidays of Spring, Summer and Winter.

You will lead all project management, from budget stewardship to overseeing programme delivery, with the support of the team. You will oversee a complex budget of around £800,000 ensuring its effective use throughout the year. You will ensure that each HAF programme in Camden offers young participants a diverse and enjoyable range of activities provided by respected organisations, operating at the highest levels of safety, quality, and in alignment with the Department for Education’s funding requirements. You will lead on all reporting, data processing, overseeing of invoicing, and communications of the programme.
