Role Overview:
The Head of Marketing & Sales plays a pivotal role in driving the organisation’s growth. You will develop and execute multi-channel strategies delivered across the funnel from enhancing brand visibility and generating leads, nurturing leads to conversion, right the way through to supporting customer retention and advocacy. We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. Working alongside the Director of Development and the Head of Communications, this role will work across teams to maintain and strengthen engagement through events, communications and corporate outreach. You will play an integral role in communicating our work as widely as possible and improving and increasing engagement with our supporters, including our members, donors and corporate partners.
The Engagement and Communications Officer will work to maximise income and support for JUSTICE through events (approximately 45% of the role), communications (approximately 30% of the role) and membership (approximately 25% of the role). They will report to the Director of Development and Head of Communications.
We want someone who can learn and grow in this role so if you don’t have every skill listed but are organised, motivated, and interested in our work then we want to hear from you.
The JUSTICE team currently work in a hybrid manner. Staff members have access to office space in London, however, attendance is currently optional. About the role
As we continue to build on the successes achieved over the last 3 years, Gresham College is seeking a new Head of Fundraising and Engagement, who will be responsible for driving income generation for the College and for engaging our audiences through traditional and digital means.
The Head of Fundraising and Engagement will play the central role in continuing to draw new forms of income to support the College’s educational mission. You will build on the success of the 6.5 million annual views of our YouTube channel to generate income from small donations and memberships, as well as play the lead role in growing relationships with high-net-worth individuals and corporations.

You will be responsible for brand management and development, including management of the College’s online and PR presence to grow our profile and reputation.
The Head of Fundraising and Engagement will line manage a team of four.
Who we are looking for
You will have a track record of success in raising income in a charity environment, alongside knowledge of the requirements of the fundraising regulator and best practice in the sector.
You will bring experience of working across a range of income generation areas and activities, including membership, HNWIs, corporate, and trusts and foundations. It is essential that candidates demonstrate their ability to identify, build and maintain strong donor, sponsor and supporter relationships. You should also be familiar with managing engagement and communications programmes, particularly through digital means.
Candidates should bring experience of managing individuals or teams focused on income generation within a relevant setting and be able to demonstrate the impact of their leadership through the achievement of successful income generation activities.

Working arrangements
