Age International is recruiting for a Senior Policy Adviser with a proven background in achieving impact, for a 12-month maternity cover contract, working 28 hours per week. Salary advertised is FTE - 35 hours.

Please note that due to the Hybrid nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to commute to the central London co-working hub on a regular basis. We anticipate this being twice a week. Your travel costs to the London office are not covered by the charity.

About the role
This role is an exciting opportunity to help transform the response to domestic abuse by ensuring the sector is evidence led. SafeLives holds the largest datasets on victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse nationally which you will use to inform our ambitious policy and research agenda. This Data Analyst position will primarily work within the Drive programme team. They will be responsible for working with and supporting the Senior Data Analyst and Data Team Manager to develop and deliver rigorous, sector leading data, analysis, and recommendations. Working closely with the Drive Practice, National Systems Change and Restart teams, this role will primarily focus on data collection, quality assurance, management and reporting through the Drive Case Management Systems.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

The Drive Project has an intensive case management approach that challenges service users to change and works with partner agencies – like the police and social services – to disrupt abuse.

JOB PURPOSE: The Public Affairs Manager will manage the implementation of ParalympicsGB’s policy & public affairs strategy, including managing a targeted contact programme with politicians, civil servants and stakeholder organisations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage the implementation of the public affairs strategy, with support from the Head of Social Impact and Director of Communications & Social Impact, reporting back to the Senior Leadership Group on the outcomes achieved.

Job Purpose
Carers Manchester Contact Point (CMCP) is the first point of contact for unpaid carers seeking information, advice and support to help them with their caring role.
The service delivers a free confidential helpline for carers weekdays (Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm). These times are subject to change, based on the needs and requirements of carers using the service.
The aim of this role is to be part of a team providing a comprehensive information, advice and support to carers in Manchester. The post holder will work alongside colleagues from Gaddum and potentially other organisations to be the first contact in a busy service providing advice via a telephone advice line and managing referrals made through digital sources. They will provide information and advice and refer more complex issues to the appropriate agencies delivering the Manchester Carers Pathway.
Key responsibilities
Advice giving
- Answering telephone calls into a central helpline offering support and guidance to unpaid carers in Manchester.
- Provide relevant and meaningful support and information to unpaid carers utilising internal and external resources.
- Inform carers about carers assessments and refer where necessary.
- Inform carers about emergency grants available and refer where necessary.
- Ensure all advice and support given is delivered in a timely manner to suit the needs of carers calling the helpline whilst balancing waiting callers.
Follow-up support
- Refer unpaid carers to local services to access local and culturally appropriate support in their area.

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.
The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children becoming involved in violence. Our mission is to find what works and build a movement to put it into practice. A big part of the movement that we need to build is in the world of policing. We need to inspire and connect with police forces across England and Wales to spread what works and make our country safer for some of our most vulnerable children. We are looking for someone to lead on making this happen.
Key Responsibilities Include:
We are making good progress building the evidence of what works within and around policing to reduce violence, with new Practice Guidance and implementation resources on diversion and focused deterrence. But the big risk is that we publish guidance and nothing changes. That’s where you come in. Your role is to work out the best way to make this change happen by getting more senior leaders within policing to use our Guidance, toolkit, research and implementation tools to inform day to day operations and strategic decision making. This will involve:
- Developing great relationships with senior leaders and frontline police officers, generating a strong understanding of key policing issues, needs and behaviours, and building credibility and trust with the sector.
- Developing, managing and tracking the change plan to get more senior leaders to be aware of and use our Guidance, tools and resources, continuously looking for data-driven improvements.
- Creating practical tools and resources that help leaders put evidence into action.
- Supporting police forces, violence reduction units, and police and crime commissioners to develop or strengthen evidence-based practices, including focused deterrence, hotspots policing, and problem-orientated policing.

Your personal data will be shared for the purposes of the recruitment exercise. This includes our HR team, interviewers (who may include other partners in the project and independent advisors), relevant team managers and our IT service provider if access to the data is necessary for performance of their roles. We do not share your data with other third parties, unless your application for employment is successful, and we make you an offer of employment. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you. We do not transfer your data outside the European Economic Area.
