Position: Regional Volunteer Team Lead
Location: Remote in South/South East England
Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (18 months) which may be extended
Full-time Salary: £33,000 + car
About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide inspirational regional team leadership for this designated Region and their volunteers. In this role, you will drive the delivery of outstanding member benefits and sports/leisure events at a local level using local insight. You will lead your Region through a period of change and the role is expected to evolve with the exciting transformation work we are currently undertaking across the organisation. With this in mind, the current responsibilities listed below may change as the transformation work progresses.
Responsibilities:
- Support volunteers and colleagues to plan, create and deliver a local program of events aligned with CSSC's strategy, mission, vision, and values.
- Ensure adherence to operating processes, framework, and legislation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and volunteers to organise a variety of inclusive events and activities across the Region based on data driven insight, with the aim of attracting new and existing members to CSSC.
- Foster effective networking and collaboration across the team, champion best practice and seek out new ideas and ways of doing things.
- Attract, recruit and induct new volunteers to ensure excellent service provision for our members.
About You:

Key Skills & Experience: Essential

- Full UK driving license (travel required).
Desirable
- A relevant degree or professional qualification in volunteer/event management or community development (not essential but advantageous).
- Experience of building and working with high-performing teams.
- Working knowledge of CRM and digital Event Management Systems.

We’re looking for a Partnerships Officer to play a key role in our evolving income generation team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partnerships, and External Training and Consultancy. You’ll manage a portfolio of warm funders and partners, help develop new opportunities, and ensure our supporters receive excellent stewardship and communications.

Job Summary

Main Responsibilities:
Leadership
1. As a member of the Operational Leadership Team and wider Senior Leadership Team, work collaboratively and take collective responsibility for the strategic management and leadership of the organisation.
2. Work closely with the CEO, Treasurer and Board of Trustees to facilitate good governance and risk management.
3. Manage, maintain and develop all financial systems and control; increasing their impact and quality, and implementing best practices in financial management.
4. To supervise finance assistants and ensure that they are adhering to financial code of practices.
Financial Management
1. Lead and manage all aspects of the financial cycle, including budgeting, forecasting, fixed asset management, reserves & designated fund management and financial reporting.
2. Work with HR & Payroll Officer to manage and retain oversight of the day to day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and general ledger maintenance, including the reconciliation of petty cash, credit cards and all bank accounts on a monthly basis reviewing and approving payment runs and payroll.
3. Work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to prepare the annual budgets and forecasts.
4. Lead and manage the provision of regular budget monitoring and reports to budget holders.
5. Assist with the budget preparation for funding bids. Manage, monitor and keep track of any grants, funding or commissioned income, working with relevant managers to provide relevant financial information for inclusion in monitoring reports.
6. Lead and manage the provision of quarterly financial reports to the Board and advise them on financial issues as appropriate
7. Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to inform and support organisational management, development and decision[1]making, and funding applications across the organisation.
8. Work with the CEO to prepare medium term financial forecasts for the organisation to support strategic decision-making and delivery of strategic priorities.
9. Lead on the audit process and the preparation of year end accounts to trial balance including preparation of the audit file and the closing down of the accounts on our accounting management system to ensure that the organisation is compliant with legal requirements and good practice.
10. To work closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and designated Trustees to advise, review and cost the annual pay award.
11. To provide back-up and holiday cover for the processing of monthly payroll.
12. To work with and support the HR & Payroll Officer in providing payroll information and reconciling payroll monthly.
Governance and compliance
1. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements (e.g. Companies House, HMRC and the Charity Commission).
2. Attend Trustee Board meetings to report on financial matters, including the identification and management of financial risk, and provide any relevant reports.
3. To support the Trustees, SLT and line managers in managing our finances carefully and within our financial means, through provision of advice, guidance, support and training.
4. To be the main point of contact with external auditors.
5. To ensure that robust financial controls are in place, underpinned by appropriate financial policies and procedures and to ensure that they are adhered to and that the organisation is protected from fraud and error.

The Senior Bid and Funding Officer is a new role for Involve as we seek to build the infrastructure to support the growth that we have experienced in recent years. This role will sit within our Finance & Support Services function and will work alongside colleagues at all levels in the Innovation & Practice, Capacity Building & Standards and Advocacy & Communications functions to identify and provide compelling proposals in response to fundraising and tender opportunities.
As Senior Bid and Funding Officer you will be responsible for identifying fundraising opportunities to bring forwards to the team for evaluation and coordinating the submission of returns ensuring high quality tenders are produced that meet the needs of funders and commissioners. You will support function leads in monitoring fundraising outcomes and comparing to income generation targets, developing a database of funders and improving tender response processes to reduce the administrative burden of tender responses without compromising on quality.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of managing the tender return process in other organisations, either in a commercial or charitable sector environment. You will bring strong project management skills, be able to coordinate tender submissions to set deadlines and have an inquisitive mindset to enjoy researching opportunities and thinking creatively how Involve can meet funder requirements while also advancing our mission.
We work across the UK, with offices in Belfast and London. Many of our staff work from home across the UK or in a hybrid pattern, rather than being based at one of our offices, though we meet up regularly as a team. We are flexible but you must be comfortable with regular travel both for project work and for Involve team activities. Must be able to travel to deliver work across the UK.

- Experience of using insights to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Significant and demonstrable experience of model building.
- Strong communication and storytelling kills, with the communicate across a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent SQL, Power BI skills and understanding of requirements of compliance in a regulated environment.
- Line management experience would be an advantage.
