Property Manager - Job Description

Main Duties

Repairs and Maintenance

• Manage the repair and maintenance of the parish site to ensure they are safe, clean, and welcoming.
• Undertake regular property and site inspections and manage actions.
• Responsible management of religious and listed buildings.
• Contractor management – Coordinate works to deliver value, meet quality and safety standards.
• Arrange periodic building inspections, liaise with estates on associated work.
• Submit reports to the Diocesan Estate Team as required.

Health & Safety

• Management of Statutory Inspection – arrange, manage and monitor.
• Use WorkNest H&S management system to manage compliance and risk issues.
• Work with H&S Competent Person and Estates Team, adhering to health and safety legislation.

Residential Lettings and Hall Hire

• Proactively manage income generating residential properties and parish halls.
• Work in partnership with managing agents so that rental properties are safe and achieve competitive rent.
• Periodically meet with managing agents to ensure that the best service is being provided.
• Maintain good relationships with tenants who use our halls and office space.
• Manage parish hall hire queries and coordinate the compliant use of facilities.

Governance and Compliance

• Ensure parish compliance with all diocesan policies.
• Maintain a parish asset register, inventory and annually review insurance cover. .
• Assist the Parish Priest in preparing reports and documentation for diocesan audits and reviews.
• Implement and oversee GDPR policies related to parish data collection and usage.

Volunteer Coordination

• Support and guide parish volunteers involved in facilities, or health and safety activities.
• Organise and oversee rotas for volunteers assisting with maintenance tasks.

Professionalism and Values

• Uphold and promote the ethos and values of the Catholic Church.
• Work collaboratively with the Parish Team to ensure the Parish Priest is effectively supported.

Property Manager – Person Specification

Competence, Expertise and Knowledge:

Essential

• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Fundraising, we are looking for someone with a passion for helping vulnerable young people to achieve their potential and who is excited by playing their part in raising funds towards our £1 million target. Working in our small Income Generation Team, you will have responsibility for writing compelling proposals and reports that showcase the impact of our work. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with current and potential funders, building and stewarding our restricted income pipeline which you will own.

We are looking for someone with a strong track record of securing funding, preferably within the youth, sport for development or health & wellbeing sector. Strong attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Key responsibilities  

Fundraising and business development  

• Write compelling funding proposals and cases for support, from £5000 to £100,000s

• Own and grow Trusts and Grants pipeline, identifying and researching new funding opportunities

Relationship Management 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential funders

Managing systems and processes

What is a Portfolio Delivery Test Lead?

As Portfolio Delivery Test Lead (a new role to MSIUK) you will oversee testing and lead the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for all new MSI UK system deployments, responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing UAT to ensure that the solution meets business requirements and is ready for deployment.

Evidence Synthesis Manager

The Evidence Synthesis Manager is a crucial role at the College as you will lead on the project management, delivery and undertaking of existing or new systematic reviews, helping to ensure that the RCPCH continues to lead the way in children’s health.

As Evidence Synthesis Manager you will lead on the development of systematic review protocols, including search strategies and inclusion criteria, in liaison with key stakeholders, whilst providing technical expertise and training on evidence-based methodologies (e.g. critical appraisal, search strategy development), for clinicians, staff and members of guideline development groups.

Reporting to the Head of Research and Evidence, you will lead on reviewing and critically evaluating a variety of evidence to support systematic reviews, ensuring that RCPCH internal procedures and regulated methodological requirements are being followed.

Taking responsibility for Quality Assuring the findings of systematic review outputs which are communicated to, implemented and published by the Child Protection Sub-Committee and relevant clinical leads, you will work with the relevant stakeholders to produce communication plans, promoting and disseminating findings from guidelines and systematic reviews.

You will also be expected to regularly contribute to journal articles within the field of paediatric research.

Suitably qualified with a research methodology element or with equivalent work experience, you should have proven technical expertise in systematic review methodology and critical appraisal of studies and have a background of working with clinicians or academics in the NHS or a similar regulated environment.

With demonstrable knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including clinical guidelines, you will be able to provide training and support in critical appraisal skills and/or data extraction processes.

You should be able to assimilate and report complex medical information on child health research quickly and clearly to different audiences, whilst also having strong writing skills and experience of writing reports of a medical or scientific nature or having published or co-authored in academic publications.

Payroll
