We’re looking for a Pets and Housing Development Lead, who will play a pivotal role in our projects, which strive to ensure owners and their pets stay together during difficult times.

What does this role do?

As Pets and Housing Development Lead, you’ll:

• manage the continuous development of our Pets and Housing services and projects, including leading on a critical new project moving our data to Salesforce,
• cultivate and maintain key external relationships, such as engaging veterinary practices signed up to our schemes or other organisations in the sector that we partner with,
• develop and create social media content to build the online presence our services have,
• work closely with the PR team to promote our services, from writing press releases to carrying out interviews, to ensure our work reaches the audiences where it can have the most impact.

Please note, this role is being offered as a fixed term, family leave cover contract until October 2026.

Could this be you?

To be successful in this role, you’ll need some experience of project management, as you’ll be working on some big projects that require significant planning and stakeholder management. Excellent communication skills are key, with the ability to build relationships and rapport with external and internal stakeholders at all levels. A strong understanding of social media, PR and online search engine optimisation would be very helpful. Above all, being passionate about the work we do for pets and their owners is essential.

What does this team do?

The outreach department supports people and dogs in crisis, such as those escaping domestic abuse or experiencing homelessness. These specialist services reduce the need for someone to unnecessarily relinquish or euthanise their dog due to the crisis they may be facing. They include Freedom, a specialist dog fostering service for people fleeing domestic abuse, and Pets and Housing projects that support people and their dogs experiencing homelessness and advocating for people to be accommodated with their pets at all stages of their housing journey.

We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer, whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering the West Midlands: Staffordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire.

Post holders will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund and the wider statutory and military charity sector, ensuring that support is made available to meet their need through the case working process. 

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community.

This is home based and the candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the region covered. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Enhanced DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

Role Title: External Communications and Advocacy Lead

This is a rare opportunity to shape the new communications function in a thriving cancer charity, establishing Shine as the go-to charity supporting all young adults living with any type of cancer in the UK.

Main purpose of the role:

A rare opportunity to shape the new communications function in a thriving cancer charity and to establish its reputation as the go-to charity supporting all young adults living with any type of cancer in the UK.

As part of our growth plan, we are delighted to be hiring our first Communications and Advocacy Lead. Working on our external communications strategy to build authority and be the go-to voice for younger adults (aged 20 to 49 years) living with cancer, this person will be responsible for managing all external communications. In addition, will work closely with the rest of the Shine team to ensure consistent external messaging.

Key Responsibilities

These include:

● Develop implementation plans to support Shine’s communications strategy to build authority in the cancer support space.

● Responsible for developing the Shine narrative, brand voice, and talking points to support external stories and campaigns, and to co-create fundraising messages with the Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Consultant.

● Responsible for all external communications with media including national and regional outlets, print and broadcast, digital channels and titles read by healthcare professionals.

● Supervision of the social media output from Shine, ensuring consistency with the overall communications plan. 

●       Ability to represent Shine at external stakeholder meetings.

●    Working closely with the Shine team to raise Shine’s profile through advocacy activities in the cancer community and healthcare professionals.

● Work with Shine co-CEOs to develop their external profiles through thought-leadership, speaker and advocacy platforms.

Person Specification

Essential skills:

● Ability to develop multi-channel communications plans, using social, digital and traditional media platforms

● Knowledge of UK health media including health correspondents and reporters for national news outlets (print & TV and radio)

● A good eye for design, with the ability to manage, develop and implement brand guidelines

● Experience of working with media databases and press release distribution services

● Excellent writing skills and experience of writing materials for media

● Ability to create media angles and stories from data and third-party content

● Identify platforms for Shine thought-leadership, particularly for the co-CEOs

● Strong skills in using online technology platforms including Google workspace, Canva, YouTube and MS Office.

Desirable skills:

● Experience of working alongside expert suppliers including design and content, public relations agencies and consultants. 

● Experience of managing projects remotely, including using tools such as Asana.

Core competencies:

● Empathy - understanding of the issues faced by the young adults (20-49 yrs.) living with cancer

● Attention to detail -must deliver accurate content to a high standard

● Self-directed - must be able to work independently and make strategic recommendations to Shine co-CEOs on all aspects of Shine communications

● Collaborative - ability to represent Shine and work in partnership with third parties including patient groups, medical professional groups and industry.

Respect is seeking two Helplines Advisors to provide support to male victims of domestic abuse on the Men’s Advice Line and perpetrators of domestic abuse on the Respect Phoneline.

You will support service users by phone, email and webchat, providing emotional support, practical advice, information on the available options, and signposting to other services. Would you like to make a positive difference to the lives of survivors of torture? Do you have experience of coordinating clinical services delivery to marginalised groups in a community setting?​

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Psychologist to work with an innovative and friendly multidisciplinary team at our London Centre.​

You will line manage and supervise highly skilled and dedicated clinicians, in the service delivery of a range of NICE guideline recommended therapy interventions, offered to our clients, who are survivors of torture and organised violence. You will report to the Adult Team Manager, London and operate as an integral part of the London Clinical Services Team. This is an exciting chance to join us as we place survivor empowerment and movement building at the heart of our four-year strategy and work together to increase the number of clients who can access our services. It is based in a centre specifically designed to be a safe and welcoming environment for survivors and includes gardens and growing facilities.

About the role

This is a wide-ranging position, and your key areas of responsibility will include:

• To work with the Adult Team Manager and Heads of Clinical Services to implement FFT’s strategic goals. It will involve providing line management to paid staff and volunteers from different professions and disciplines and provide professional and clinical supervision to qualified clinicians and trainees in the service including, clinical/counselling psychologists. This role may also include providing remote clinical supervision to clinicians in our other regional centres (North West England and Scotland).
• To ensure that Freedom from Torture's clinical model continues to be fully rolled out, with particular emphasis on survivor empowerment and evidence-based practice for addressing PTSD and other mental health impacts of torture.
• Championing people development as well as influence delivery of evidenced -based practice, clinical standards, quality initiatives and audit-based services.
• To formulate and negotiate psychological treatment and management plans for referred clients and to provide psychological treatment, using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service in line with the new clinical model “Pathways” (drawing on a range of evidence-based models for the presenting problems of the clients).
• Being an effective role model and leader to encourage, develop and enhance skills of others.​

About you

This is an important role within Freedom from Torture. To be successful in this role you must have a high level of commitment to maintaining excellent standards of client care and service delivery. It is a key requirement that you must have knowledge of appropriate clinical standards and external regulatory bodies. You must also have sound financial awareness and experience of balancing the provision of quality care against budgetary parameters.

To be considered for this role you must be a Psychologist registered with HCPC and have qualified with a doctorate or equivalent in either clinical or counselling psychology. You must have professional experience of working with clients with complex PTSD and have post-qualification experience of using evidence-based trauma focused therapy models. It is essential that you have a clear understanding of the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum, both in terms of pre-flight experience and the experience of living in exile. You must have previous management and supervision experience and be able to provide demonstrable examples of how you have successfully led and influenced clinical teams within community or health care settings.

The Big Issue is looking to appoint to a critical role supporting our vendors. The Support and Outreach Worker will be a leading role in our belief of “A Hand Up Not a Hand Out”, and has been created to improve our service to vendors, helping them to increase their income through selling our magazine and providing casework support.
 
You will also positively promote The Big Issue in your local area, build partnerships with third-party organisations and identify and promote opportunities all with the aim of moving people out of poverty.
 
To offer our vendors the best possible support you will have experience and knowledge of working with vulnerable adults in a frontline setting, along with the ability to offer effective sales advice and guidance helping them to increase their income through magazine sales.
 
The role requires the willingness to drive a company van throughout the South East region, therefore a full driving license is essential and due to our insurance regulations you must be over the age of 21.

The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation is a drug and alcohol education charity that aims to support young people to make safe choices about drugs and alcohol and reduce harm. We do this through increasing understanding of the effects and risks, and helping to develop life skills and resilience. Frazzled is a small mental health and wellbeing charity founded by Ruby Wax OBE based on the power of emotional openness. Our free, volunteer-led meetings run online every single day of the year, offering people a chance to share, listen and feel heard in a supportive community.

We're looking for a confident and positive self starter with a high level of emotional intelligence, attention to detail and excellent communication skills to be our new Project Support and Administrative Officer.

 You will play a vital role in coordinating our schedule of peer-support meetings, managing our busy inboxes, supporting our volunteers and ensuring our internal systems and processes are well organised and working smoothly. You will work closely with our Co-Heads of Training and Programmes to plan and manage service delivery, support the recruitment, wellbeing, training and development of volunteers, as well as provide day-to-day running of our services. Supporting the Chief Executive and Head of Fundraising, you will contribute to Frazzled’s fundraising and development by providing administrative support and helping to organise events, meetings and reports.

Frazzled runs meetings throughout the day, from early in the morning until late in the evening seven days a week. The Project Support and Administrative Officer will be responsible for scheduling meetings and supporting our Facilitators with issues when they arise.
Please note that there will be some evening and weekend work expected when emergency tech or meeting issues arise.

Key responsibilities
 

Core Programme:

• Manage the delivery of all Frazzled meetings by being the main point of contact for day-to-day queries, managing the day to day running of core programmes, ensuring documents, schedules, records and systems are all up to date, and being on call to deal with any issues that arise.

• Respond to all public enquiries in a helpful and efficient manner

• Manage the Frazzled meeting schedule by arranging our meetings with volunteers and uploading them onto our booking website

• Design all pre- and post- volunteer meeting polls and ensure these are completed

• Host Ruby Wax public meetings with Ruby on Zoom
   

Volunteer Support:

• Support the Heads of Training and Programmes in the recruitment, support and training of volunteers

• Be confident in having constructive conversations via Zoom, phone and email with our stakeholders and volunteer network

• Ensure all volunteer records, DBS and training tracking is maintained and updated, and arranging training meetings

• Assess feedback forms from volunteers that may highlight problems or risks within meetings and manage these accordingly

• Support all volunteers in case of distress, queries, updates, problem solving alongside the Heads Training and Programmes

• Support and minute monthly volunteer meetings

• Write a monthly volunteer newsletter

Data and internal operations

• Manage and oversee all data collection from the core programme meetings, including analysis and presentation of results to staff, volunteers and trustees.

• Support CEO and Head of Fundraising with funding applications and relevant administration tasks

• Maintain office systems and the central filing system
