Elrha is a global organisation that finds solutions to complex humanitarian problems through research and innovation. We are looking for a Senior Innovation Manager (Scale) to join our Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) team on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2026. 

In this role you will ensure high-quality, impactful innovation delivery while positioning Elrha as a global leader in humanitarian innovation. You will be responsible for the provision of strategic technical insights in the design and delivery of focused innovation initiatives and drive the strategic development and integration of innovation methods across our work.

If you have substantial experience in innovation delivery and practice, with a focus on impact, we are keen to hear from you. We welcome applicants with development, social and humanitarian innovation experience.

Your application will need to demonstrate: 

• Substantial experience in innovation delivery and practice roles, including leading the design and delivery of innovation programmes with a focus on impact at scale. 
• Deep technical knowledge of innovation theory and practice, specially including the area of scaling of innovation 
• Proven understanding of the humanitarian and/or development system, including the challenges and key stakeholders within the sector(s) 
• Excellent representation skills, including extensive experience facilitating workshops, speaking at events/meetings, and communicating effectively in a range of formats 
• Track record of published research, guidance and tools on innovation theory and practice (academic and/or grey literature) 
• An interest in the humanitarian or development sectors, ideally demonstrated through academic qualifications and/or paid or voluntary work.

Experience of working with grant making processes and systems would also be an advantage.

The Philanthropy team is part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships department, whose primary goal is to engage high value supporters and fundraise for the Stop MS Appeal.

As Philanthropy Officer, you will work closely with the Philanthropy manager, raising income for the MS Society from philanthropy fundraising activities as per the agreed objectives and targets.

You will identify, engage and steward philanthropy prospects through events and other appropriate fundraising activities, generating income to achieve ambitious targets and delivering a first class supporter experience.

You will ensure the provision of excellent individual care to ensure long term commitment, contributing to the overall implementation of our Philanthropy team’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop, implement and manage regional (community) fundraising the associated income and expenditure budgets, ensuring that all budget targets are achieved 
• To evaluate regional fundraising plans on a regular basis and make changes when necessary
• To cultivate relationships with existing individuals, fundraising committees, businesses, schools and community groups by executing exemplary, personalised stewardships in order to maximise fundraising income, and to ensure their life long support.
• To research and identify prospective new regional fundraising opportunities and activities and to produce funding proposals for donors and prospects, ensuring that the potential of these sources is fully maximised 
• To secure charity of year adoptions for organisations, including community groups, golf clubs, schools and smaller companies.
• To undertake talks to community groups to maintain relationships, nurture new contacts and elicit donations.
• To work closely with the Supporter Services Team and to uplift support under £1,000.
• To actively promote and recruit participants to the Event Programme as per event target (to be outlined) for each activity. 
• To input into the development of the Ambassador programme, working with members of the Volunteer Support Team. 
• To work in conjunction with the Marketing Team to ensure strategic marketing and communication plans are created to promote community fundraising activity effectively 
• To support and manage volunteers utilising skills and resources available, working with other Trust personnel as appropriate.
• To develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the region, the companies, community and events including the smaller parishes that are in the region.
• To produce monthly activity plans and reports.
• To monitor income against agreed targets, escalating issues as necessary and agreeing remedial actions
• To carry out any other duties as required by the Fundraising Management Team.

Hours and Benefits:

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. You will work Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required. 

This role offers hybrid work, working 3 days in the office at our Hospices in Sutton Scotney, and 2 days remotely. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to travel around the region to meet community leaders, donors and supporters. 

Salary - up to £30,750 FTE, dependent upon experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline providing Trusts and Corporate fundraisers and the Major Donor programme with the required number and level of prospects to meet the team's objectives and financial targets by using different tools to support you, including gift table.
• Carry out due diligence on donors and prospects to ensure donations are accepted in accordance with our Ethical and Major Giving Policy.
• Ensure the database is kept up to date with accurate and current information on prospects, contacts and ensure it is stored and archived accurately and in accordance with GDPR and Brain Tumour Research policies. Support the team’s up to date understanding of GDPR and consent recording on the database and associated processes.
• Proactively collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for prospecting, for example with Corporate, Trusts, Individual Giving and Events.

Requirements:

• Experience of researching high net worth individuals, company Directors, and/or family Trust and Foundations Boards identifying capacity, propensity and affinity to the cause. 
• Ability to gather information from the public domain in accordance with GDPR, Data protection regulation, IoF and charity law. 
• Experience of producing accurate, unbiased, concise snapshot research as well as more in-depth research profiles detailed reports, network mapping and analysis on donors and prospects. 
• Knowledge and commitment to our aims, mission and values is desired. 
• Strong understanding of due diligence, data protection and the latest GDPR and ICO updates is desired.

We’re looking for an experienced and focused leader who has the ability to drive forward our brilliant Policy & Evidence, Campaign & Public Affairs and PR teams. We’re looking for someone who can work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure our work has a positive impact for the MS community.

With the ability to provide strategic and thought leadership, you’ll act as the leading authority on matters relating to external affairs, providing advice across the organisation including to the Executive Group and Trustees.

You’ll have significant experience of developing and implementing relevant external affairs strategies and of successfully leading policy, communications or campaigning functions in an organisation of comparable size and complexity. You’ll also need to be influential both internally and externally, including representing the MS Society at a range of external meetings with a variety of audiences.

As well as leading on planning and budget setting for the external affairs functions, as a member of the leadership team, you will also contribute to the strategic leadership, planning and policy formulation of the MS Society as a whole.

We’re looking for someone who is committed to collaborative working, who is excellent at building relationships and trust with colleagues at all levels, and whose focus is on supporting high performing teams and enabling them to do their best for the MS community.

About the role 

You will ensure we deliver high quality legal services and manage our Legal Aid Contract, with your main focus being to manage and supervise the legal teams who are advocating for clients with housing issues, as well as bringing about systemic change. You will be dealing with personnel issues, providing professional support and supervision to your team as well as carrying your own caseload of housing litigation.

Contributing to the strategic direction of Shelter legal services nationally will be an important aspect of the role too, as will taking the lead on delivering strategic change aligned to Shelter’s strategy and ensuring Legal aid contract requirements and performance targets are met.

You will be able to identify test case opportunities to address systemic bad practice and so achieve change for a greater number of people and will work closely with the Head of Legal Services, the Hub Management Team and teams within Communications, Policy and Campaigns and Business Development.

As a key member of the management team, you will also get to play your part in the management of our offices, including attending management team meetings and collaborating with other teams.

About you

You will be experienced in working under a housing legal aid contract, court advocacy, carrying your own caseload as well as managing and supervising others. You will have a minimum of 4 years post qualification legal practice experience, have supervisor status and have substantial knowledge of housing and homelessness law. Independent File Reviews, time recording and good case management will also be part of the role.

You are able to carry out research and policy analysis in the areas of housing, homeless and welfare law, produce reports and presentations.
