To be considered for this role, you will need:

• Proven track record in not-for-profit fundraising marketing and a passion for leveraging stories to drive fundraising success.
• Experience of developing and implementing on and offline fundraising marketing campaigns, delivering them on time and on budget.
• A proven ability to write persuasive copy.
• Strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.

About the role:

The Social Care IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose families are involved with Family Children Services and risk to children is a factor.  You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the local authority Family Children Services team, working with Social Care professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from Family Children Services.

The Social Care project was established in 2021 and has been working in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Family Children Services, so the IDVAs will inherit strong working relationships and a commitment from all parties to offering more trauma-informed services.  The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in social care and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge on children safeguarding/legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

To be successful as the Social Care IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.Provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to women referred to the service, in respect to risk management and safety planning, criminal and civil remedies, housing, health, welfare rights, and children’s legislation.

Your abilities extend to assessing the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support and identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs.Advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies and proactively advocate to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced. You will work as an advocate and educator to raise awareness and upskill professionals within Children Social Care plus work with colleagues to successfully develop and deliver training.

 We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to lead and deliver strategic communications across all key external audiences. The Vulnerable Adults service (VAS) consists of two branches - Lead Worker and Supported Accommodation. These sister services work in close partnership to provide consistent, flexible support across Birmingham 365 days a year from 9AM-9PM.

We have an opportunity for an approachable and communicative individual to work with clients in a holistic person-centred way to build independence, community networks and improve quality of life. You will work with people experiencing a variety of mental health conditions, including individuals with dual diagnosis, complex needs and challenging behaviour and will ensure that they feel supported, as the embark on their journey to improve their wellbeing and build interdependence. It takes a village to help us grow, so you will be there to ensure that they engage in their community and build social networks. You will encourage them to constantly improve their physical and mental wellbeing, by attending relevant appointments and ensure access to health services. It is more than that too, it is also about helping them with finances, reducing debt, and understanding the importance of budgeting, as well as finding new skills through employment or education. You will work closely with each individual, reviewing personalised support plans and maintaining relevant assessment documentation, identifying any new barriers or changes in their circumstances that may have an impact on the achievement of their goals. 

With experience of working in the mental health field, you will demonstrate a good understanding of the obstacles that can be faced and how to overcome them to reach certain goals. You will be able to empathise with the daily struggles that people face and will have a commitment to user involvement and empowerment. • Contract: 18 months fixed term. We can’t accept applications for job shares for this role. We're unable to provide sponsorship for a work visa.

• Salary: £33,962 for 4 days a week, which is a £42,452 full time equivalent salary - band C3 on our pay scale. An annual cost of living increase will be included from July. We are unable to negotiate salary.

• Location: Some of the role will be site-specific. We are therefore open to candidates based anywhere in the UK, although some travel to sites will be required. Occasional requirement to attend our Camden office or another central London location for team days, although you would be welcome to work from the office more frequently.

• Working hours: 0.8 full time equivalent, i.e. four days per week. Our core working days are Tuesday and Wednesdays, when all staff are required to work.

Possible is a climate action charity working on climate solutions which improve people’s lives, support communities and cut the cost of living, as well as slashing carbon. Our “Where We Live” workstrand creates innovative new ways to improve the roll-out of clean, affordable heat and energy, and to better insulate homes. 

We are looking for someone with experience of delivering community energy and/or heat projects. Are you excited to unblock the delivery of innovative local clean energy and heat projects which cut emissions and energy poverty and empower communities? Do you enjoy working with communities to help design and deliver local energy projects which work for them? If so, we should talk!

As our new Community Heat and Energy Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering our major new community heat and energy workstrand. You’ll work with expert partners to move forward local renewable energy projects which help power clean heat solutions at three different sites, as well as developing ways to remove barriers to delivering this type of project, such as supplying energy locally and matching supply and demand. 

The role will include coordinating and working with key expert partners, including community energy groups and research partners, across the three sites. The design stage of the project is largely complete, but there is still scope for creativity in delivery.

Like all our staff, you will contribute to our anti-oppression work, attend team-wide meetings and training sessions and feed in to the production of organisational strategy. And everyone at Possible chips in in the best ways they are able, by doing things like organising digital birthday cards, taking out the bins or the virtual equivalent, so there’s that too.

Operational Leadership:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Senior Management Team's and it’s operational functions, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance productivity and ensure compliance.

• Deputise for the CEO when required, representing the organisation at events, meetings, and in day-to-day operations.

Board of Trustees Liaison:

• Provide regular reports to the Board of Trustees on operational performance, strategic initiatives, and financial matters.
• Work closely with the CEO to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with the Board's expectations.
• Attend Board meetings and provide insights on operational challenges, opportunities, and key achievements.

Financial Management:

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
• Monitor financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Drive cost-efficiency initiatives while maintaining a focus on quality and service outcomes.

People Management and Development:

• Line manage and develop the SMT (nine managers)
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Establish performance goals and metrics for staff, offering regular feedback and development support.
• Promote an inclusive, diverse work environment that values employee engagement and professional growth.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and retention strategies.

Risk Management and Compliance:

• Develop and implement strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining the highest ethical standards.
• Implement internal controls and governance practices to safeguard the charity’s reputation and assets.
