About the Role

The HR Operations Lead will report to the Director of Finance and Operations and will be responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of all HR operations and processes across the organisation. This is a standalone generalist role, ideal for someone confident in managing core HR functions while building strong relationships across a collaborative team. It offers real variety, autonomy and the opportunity to drive positive change in a purpose-led, creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, contractual changes and offboarding
• Ensure compliance with employment law, GDPR and internal HR policies
• Act as first point of contact for HR queries, providing timely and professional advice
• Maintain and optimise the HR system (Cezanne) and provide accurate HR data and reporting to senior leaders
• Develop and improve HR processes and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
• Support recruitment and selection processes, including inclusive hiring practices
• Coordinate learning and development activity in line with the organisational plan
• Lead the annual appraisal and mid-year review processes
• Work closely with the EDI working group to support and implement inclusive practices
• Support payroll and cross-functional operations in collaboration with Finance and IT colleagues
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices

About You

This role would suit an experienced HR generalist with a collaborative approach, who enjoys working in a small, values-led team.

Essential experience and skills include:

• Proven experience in HR operations, ideally in a standalone or SME setting
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law, including the Equality Act
• Ability to manage systems and use HR data to generate insight
• Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
• Skilled in process improvement and implementing best practice
• Experience supporting inclusive recruitment and staff development
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management skills
• CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) preferred

A background in the charity, arts or creative sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.

The Role

This role serves as the strategic lead of the European ecosystem, including the UK, overseeing strategies to ensure this powerful movement is growing, is supported, and is being nurtured across communities, countries, leveraging and building power with key actors.
This role understands the nuance of targeted campaigns, how to win them, the context of the big picture, and then designs strategies to intersect the short and long term to build actionable plans for maximum impact.

Working collaboratively across Europe and globally, you will lead the development and implementation of Europe's movement strategy – understanding our campaigns, leading power mapping, understanding constituency and context needs, running experiments, and distributing grants. You will create and recruit new partnerships and groups from new and diverse constituencies, growing their skills and capacities.

Skills Required

You don’t need experience in fossil finance or climate – you can be a leader in your own field of environmental or social justice, such as trade unions, faith or youth groups, community organisations, worker bodies, etc. You’re a strategic, experienced, and collaborative campaign leader and relational organiser, with a passion for winning campaigns and growing regional movements. You have a nuanced understanding of how systemic change happens and can take a long-term view of power and power building in order to deliver short term wins. Your career includes creative corporate and political regional and local campaigns, including winning or iterating on campaigns through diverse stakeholder strategies.

You enjoy working across the political spectrum, or different theories of change, and understand what it takes to build trust, nurture creativity and unleash the potential of individuals and groups. • Demonstrated experience building a movement or organisation which has influenced systemic change

About the role

We are looking for a self-driven, highly motivated team player to join our HR department. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this postholder will work closely with the two HR People Partners. The post holder will lead and manage all formal employee relations cases whether it be disciplinaries, grievances or complaints. They will also Project manage and deliver on HR projects including the development of new initiatives and HR policy updates.

Responsibilities

• To lead and manage employee relations activity across the charity by working closely with the key stakeholders.
• To provide guidance and advise senior managers in line with MSSC policies, employment legislation and ACAS Code of Practice regarding complex HR situations.
• To lead and take notes at all MSSC disciplinaries, grievances and formal complaints to support the process. These could include conduct, performance management/capability, absence management. grievances, bullying and harassment, discrimination, whistleblowing etc. 
• Ensure appropriate documentation of cases including file notes, correspondence, accurate meeting minutes etc, ensuring their employee file is kept up to date and organised.
• To provide support to the HR People Partners on broader ER issues, if necessary, such as absence management/OH referrals, performance management/PIPs.
• To support and assist the Director of HR and the team on a range of HR projects and initiatives.
• To develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and guidance documents, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
• Manage the appraisal process including launch communications, monitoring completions and reviewing forms for any ER issues and logging training needs.
• Lead the annual staff survey launch and collation and analysis of data.
• To cover for the Director of HR and other team members as required.

Requirements

• CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
• Strong experience of leading employee relations cases and advising senior management
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and best practice
• Strong organisational skills – the ability to juggle a demanding workload and manage priorities and working under pressure and takes pride in producing high quality work
• Strong communication and influencing skills; clarity in writing style and verbal expression

Mary Hare educates 200 profoundly deaf children at its residential school in Berkshire, and we pride ourselves on our pupils’ achievements at GCSE, A Level as well as B Tech and Vocational Courses. We offer the opportunity to teach highly motivated children, in small classes, where you can make a real difference at this national centre of excellence for deaf education. No knowledge of sign language is required, as we follow an auditory/oral philosophy.

The Role:

This is an opportunity to join a vibrant, dynamic and ambitious charity whose goal is to enable deaf children and young people to thrive and reach their full potential.

​The organisation has a good track record of raising substantial sums for major capital developments including an arts centre, new residential accommodation and most recently £4 million for a new Primary School for deaf children. ​You will be responsible for a small team and will need to be able to secure major donations from Trusts, Foundations and individuals.  The role is varied and takes in most areas of fundraising. You will also be responsible to for raising unrestricted funds annually.

The Fundraising Manager will manage the Trusts Fundraiser. The role works across two organisations: The Mary Hare Foundation and Mary Hare. These are two separate registered charities. The Mary Hare Foundation is the fundraising arm and Mary Hare is concerned with service delivery.

The largest fundraising targets are related to capital projects that are outlined by the School.There are some revenue fundraising targets, including the bursary scheme. The role is very hands on with both the management of fundraising and the implementation of fundraising activities, especially trust fundraising.

We are looking for someone with proven experience securing funding from trusts and foundations, with a strong track record of writing successful applications for significant grants (£200k+). You will be a confident and persuasive writer, able to communicate our impact concisely and compellingly, while building strong and long-lasting funder relationships. 

Proactive and tenacious, you excel at identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities. Highly organised, with keen attention to detail, you can manage multiple applications and deadlines effectively.

Role Overview:
Our Sport and Inclusion Tutor will lead, deliver and develop our intervention programmes, focusing on mentoring young people accessing our Tackle LIFE and Be You programmes. The Role

Role Summary

Development Group generates philanthropic and sponsorship income to help us create a Natural History Museum for the future – investing in capital development, attaining vital acquisitions for the collection, transforming our galleries, developing innovative exhibitions and undertaking ground-breaking scientific research on issues that affect us all.

Reporting into the Head of Resources & Planning, this role provides the opportunity to join a Development operations team in driving forward the exciting, ambitious and transformational NHM150 campaign.  You will have the opportunity to be innovative and proactive, as well as utilise your creativity, project management and organisational skills to oversee donor recognition and ensure we are providing a consistent and best in sector experience for our donors and partners.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Stewardship and supporter journey

• Working closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Head of Corporate Partnerships, lead the development of a structured, overarching stewardship programme that works across the Museum. Take a supporter journey approach and ensure the programme includes a creative and innovative range of benefits and recognition to foster well-managed, mutually beneficial and lasting relationships with funders.
• Coordinate stewardship efforts and work with colleagues to produce tailored stewardship plans.
• Provide strategic and day-to-day advice and guidance to staff on stewardship.

Funder recognition

• Work with the Philanthropy and Corporate Partnerships departments to ensure a cohesive approach to the funder benefits matrix and recognition and acknowledgement.
• Advise and lead on funder inclusion with event and event material including, speeches, invites and associated thanking moments
• Lead on the creation and implementation of a funder recognition strategy for each major project and giving mechanism, ensuring consistency with the Museum’sdeli Naming and Recognition Policy and including, but not limited to, funder boards and naming opportunities.

• Support colleagues in researching, writing and producing high-quality impact reports for funders in line with Deeds of Gift, contracts and other agreements.

• Manage the annual Season’s Greetings cards creation and distribution

Other responsibilities

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.
