Airplay is part of the RAF Benevolent fund and run by One YMCA. We provide youth clubs for children aged eight to eighteen which includes Ben Clubs for children aged 5 to 7 too. We provide a range of social activities in state-of-the-art facilities with sessions run by our friendly youth workers.

MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To support the provision of the Airplay and Ben Club activities and workshops

· Developing relationships with young people in a safe environment

· Supervising children and young people in activities, workshops and discussion sessions

· Engaging in learning and play with younger children

· Working with children and young people to track their progress

· Data entry/light admin work may be required

Job Purpose

One Place London is a community interest company located in West London engaged in Acting for Film and Music Recording workshops for young people aged 14-25, unemployed or at risk of getting involved in crime. We are looking for an experienced HR Officer to join the team. The primary purpose of this role is to support the Managing Director facilitate the smooth running of our human resources function, including onboarding new employees, managing the HR systems and assisting with some aspects of payroll and employee benefits.

Whilst specific legal training is not required, solid HR legal knowledge will be advantageous.

As a stock volunteer, you'll be behind-the-scenes, sorting and organising donations to keep our retail spaces well-stocked. Your keen eye for detail and passion for helping others will ensure our customers always have a great choice of items to buy.

What you will be doing

• Undertaking shop related tasks agreed with the Manager, for example:
• Selecting, sorting, and pricing donated stock.
• Chatting to customers who drop off donations and other members of the team.
• Preparing stock to be put out on the shop floor, ready for sale.
• Researching valuable and vintage stock.
• Photographing and listing items for the online shop.

Most LGC members have a four-year term of office, except for co-opted members who are appointed for one year. They attend around four meetings each year, which are usually held late afternoon/early evening during term-time. LGC members are also involved in scrutiny activities in school, which usually happen once or twice a term during the school day. LGC members also participate in decision-making panels (for admissions and exclusions) for schools in the Trust. The average time commitment for our LGC members is 8-12 hours per month.

For LGC Chairs, there is need to be involved in contact with a range of stakeholders within the school, the community, and across the trust. This will include more frequent meetings in school, possibly during the day, although many of these may be outside normal school hours. Depending upon school priorities, we would expect the typical Chair time commitment to be around 15-20hrs per month, although some of this can be done online and by phone around work and home commitments.

NEAT takes safeguarding seriously, and all governance volunteers are required to undertake a vetting process (including DBS check) during appointment to best safeguard our pupils and schools.

Young People's Service

Honorary therapists work within the Psychotherapy Service at schools to provide emotional and therapeutic support to young people and children with learning disabilities and autistic people who have experienced abuse or trauma. The post will entail jointly assessing and providing individual therapy and having weekly supervision with our therapists.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in (or recently completed) a Level 4 or above counselling/psychotherapy course

• Student member of the BACP, UKCP, HCPC (or equivalent professional body) and adhere to ethical framework of awarding professional body

• Minimum of 50 supervised client hours completed

• Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and inclusivity

• Minimum 1-2 year commitment

FareShare Greater Manchester is looking for safe, confident drivers to join our busy, friendly delivery team. 

We re-distribute tonnes of surplus food a month to charities and community initiatives across Greater Manchester. This is an achievement of which we’re proud, and want to expand and is why we need your driving and delivery skills to support our growing operation, especially in these current times of increased need.

Key responsibilities

Driving a van to deliver surplus food orders to the premises of the various Community Food Members we support. 
Loading and unloading the vehicle and carrying out a range of tasks, from basic vehicle checks to delivery administration.

As a Delivery Driver at FareShare, you will be driving a temperature-controlled 3.5 tonnes Mercedes Sprinter van; working closely with a Driver’s Assistant to re-distribute food orders to the premises of a wide variety of Community Food Members. You will be involved with loading the vehicle and carrying out a range of tasks, from basic vehicle checks to delivery administration.

The required skills and attributes are as follows. You must:

Be aged 25 or over, with a clean driver's licence (or a maximum of 3 points).
(Experience of driving a van is desirable though not essential).

Be reliable and be able to commit to pre-agreed volunteer shifts.

Be physically fit to take on moving and handling of food orders.

Possess the ability to follow procedures and instructions.

Have good verbal communication skills.

Have a high respect for Health & Safety standards and procedures.

Have an interest in the work of FareShare Greater Manchester and our values.

Information and Advice Service: The Information and Advice service for older people provides a free, confidential, and independent service for anyone aged 65+ living in the borough of Bromley and 50 + plus in Greenwich. Our advisers provide general advice on a range of subjects: employment rights, welfare benefits, housing, consumer rights and adult social care.

Role Summary: Supporting and providing information to clients across a wide range of enquiry areas including welfare benefits, housing, Social Care, relationships, and consumer issues.

• Identify and research information and services to signpost that are relevant to the client’s situation, drawing on information resources, agencies, and other sources of information.
• Committed to researching and providing up to date information to vulnerable older people using the internet and other resources.

As a Volunteer in Gloucestershire your role will include:

• Supporting young people who have experienced domestic abuse

• Work closely with our partner agencies such as GDASS and SARC
• Opportunity to attend events to represent Victim Support and our STREET service
• Being able to work from our office in Gloucester or from home depending on the need

• Access to a Victim Support laptop and phone to enable you to update our systems and use a victim support email account to communicate with clients and referral partners

What do we ask of you?

In order to join us as a Service Delivery Volunteer, you must:

• Be 18 years of age or over.
• Be able to volunteer for at least 7 to 14 hours per week, for at least 12 months. Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit to two fixed days a week.
• Undertake training over a 10-week period – this includes eleven virtual training days (including our core, safeguarding, children’s and domestic abuse training) as well as completing a workbook and online learning modules.
• Undertake an enhanced DBS check & be part of the DBS update service.
• Be able to provide two satisfactory references.
• Have an active email address that you are comfortable using in order to engage with VS communications.

Purpose of the role

Octavia works with people affected by unemployment, ill health, social isolation or low income to connect them with opportunities for positive personal change. Our vision is to build stronger, happier and healthier communities in central and west London to help create an enriched life where we live. Please help us to do this by volunteering to befriend a member of the local community, who is isolated and vulnerable, in Westminster or Kensington and Chelsea.

But in Britain today, that right is denied to millions of people whose lives are blighted by homelessness, unsuitable housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. The time for change is now. Together with individuals, in communities and across society, we will lead the way for a safe home for all. But we need your help to do it. 

Main Tasks can include: 

• Establishing and/or maintaining active social media accounts.

• Researching and creating creative content for different social media channels, starting with Twitter and Instagram, with view to expansion (you will have the opportunity to shape the role as you develop). 

• Helping to develop social media communication plans for sharing information that can help and support the local community.

• Liaising with the team in the Birmingham hub including to plan and promote national and local Shelter campaigns. 

• Identifying current news and issues affecting people locally around housing and benefits 

• Identifying target audiences and being up to date with current trends. 

• Attending events organised by Shelter Birmingham to provide updates on social media and making reels for Instagram going live on our Instagram account during live events. 

Skills and Experiences Required: 

• Confident in using technology. 

• Be familiar with some of the social media platforms and if needed learn how to use others use of various social media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tik Tok and Instagram. 

• Good communication skills. 

• A flexible and organised approach. 

• Creative. 

• Ability to write about relevant issues in an informed and non-bias manner. 

• Willingness to follow Shelter’s policies, including Volunteering, Safeguarding, Data Protection and Health & Safety. 

Induction, Learning and Development: 

To enable you to take part in this opportunity, Shelter will: 

• Provide you with a Volunteer Handbook and all Policies and Procedures. 

• Provide learning on topics including Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Data Protection. 

• Provide an induction to the role and other relevant training. 

• Reimburse "out of pocket" expenses in line with Shelter's volunteer expenses policy.

We are appealing for a Volunteer to help at our Lyde Green Stroke Support Group weekly. 

Every year 950 people in Bristol and South Glos will experience a stroke: people of all ages…and from all backgrounds. Bristol After Stroke is the local charity that helps those people get their lives back on track – though our groups, activities, mentoring, counselling and so much more.

Our volunteers do a variety of things each week from helping with the room set up, serving hot drinks and supporting the activities that are planned eg music, poetry or seated exercise sessions like Yoga or Zumba. The most important part of the role of the volunteer though is to talk to group members, encourage them to get involved and generally help to promote a supportive, happy atmosphere that contributes to a sense of wellbeing.

Why we need your help:

- Our Volunteers provide help and support to our Group Leaders and group members at our weekly stroke support groups.

- Our groups provide an opportunity for anyone who has been affected by stroke to meet others affected by stroke and make new friends, take part in stimulating and enjoyable activities which will support rehabilitation.

Role Summary:

• Provide support for group activities, exercises, and games.

• Support the Group Leader with the planning of Group Activities.

• Provide general support to Group Leader and Group Members when needed.

• Make and serve refreshments.

• Give added enthusiasm and encouragement to our members in taking part in any physical activities or exercises that may be offered during the session.

• Talk to group members, encourage them to get involved and generally help to promote a supportive, happy atmosphere that contributes to a sense of wellbeing.

• Help at the group for its full duration each week including setting up and clearing away of the room.

Skills and Experience:

• Be patient, understanding and have a responsible attitude.

• Know about or be willing to learn about undertaking risk assessments.

• Be comfortable working as part of a team.

• Know about or be willing to learn about stroke and its impact on people.

• Recognise the importance of confidentiality and show this in practice

• Be emotionally resilient
