The role will involve providing impartial information, advice and support to parents of children and young people, and young people themselves, who have Special Educational Needs and/or a disability so they can make appropriate, informed decisions about their education - in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and relevant legislation.

You will obtain and process referrals and provide support and expertise at all points along the SEN journey for service users and their families.  You will partner with a range of other organisations; local and national, voluntary and community and will variably act as advocate, mediator, facilitator and supporter in the best interests of the children, young people and parents within the service

Knowledge of local authority processes, national policies and legislation and relevant SEND issues will be essential to this role alongside organisational expertise and a real desire to engage with users in order to create and deliver a range of events and activities as part of the sider Supporting Families team.

• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person

Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring our professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion our service to those we support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0-25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families’ needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person

You will engage with carers via various channels - phone, email, text, face-to-face, and group settings - ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. This is a multi-faceted role that blends frontline casework with community engagement and strategic development.
 
Main responsibilities of the role include:
 
Direct Support to Carers: 

• Deliver comprehensive carer assessments in line with the Care Act 2014, and co-produce tailored support plans
• Identify and assess eligibility for Carers Personal Budgets and assist with the application process
• Provide accurate and empathetic information, advice, and guidance on carers’ rights, benefits (e.g. PIP, Carer’s Allowance, Attendance Allowance), housing, and local services
• Act as a listening ear and a source of emotional reassurance for carers navigating challenges and crises
• Liaise with Local Authorities, NHS providers, and voluntary agencies to advocate for carers and coordinate support
• Make appropriate referrals and ensure follow-ups are completed

Identification and Outreach: 

• Lead proactive outreach efforts to identify new carers, particularly those from underrepresented or vulnerable communities
• Build and nurture collaborative relationships with GPs, hospitals, primary care teams, and community organisations
• Raise awareness of unpaid carers and the charity’s services through campaigns and community presence
• Contribute to the development of internal strategies and external policies that reflect the needs and voices of carers

Administration & Case Management:

• Maintain high-quality records using internal systems (Charity Log) and the Mosaic Local Authority database
• Register new carers and ensure timely updates to service user records
• Prepare case summaries and contribute to internal and external reports for management, commissioners, and funders
• Ensure data compliance, confidentiality, and GDPR adherence at all times

Team & Organisational Development:

• Act as a lead on specific areas of knowledge (e.g., benefits, outreach) and share expertise across the team

Under the direction of the Service Management Team, you will lead the coordination of targeted interventions, including brief interventions, group work, and assertive outreach, aimed at individuals and groups at risk of harm from substance misuse. Responsibilities

About the role: 

• Lead on the coordination and delivery of the service’s prevention, early intervention, targeted education offers, and youth settings.
• To increase visibility and accessibility of the service amongst children, young people, families, and partners with the aim of increasing referrals into service for specialist support.
• Identifying and responding effectively to potential safeguarding issues.
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
• To be responsible for proactively generating and increasing referrals from relevant partners including utilising data to target specific services/provisions.
• To develop and deliver training programmes aimed at creating awareness of the service alongside delivering early intervention key messages to professionals.

• You have experience working with young people, with knowledge of the issues they face.

As a Retail Manager, you will join an incredible team and support them to encourage sales, provide excellent customer service, and uphold the highest standards of stock and store presentation.

You will be responsible for:   

Lead store operations bringing energy and vision to create a memorable shopping experience.

Utilize your eye for design and style, to curate your donated product through great visual merchandising with enhanced feature displays and strong commercial windows to drive sales and footfall.

Keep up to date with the latest fashion trends and local market demands, identifying opportunities for growth.

Managing staff and volunteers where you'll get to work with some amazing people. Taking the lead in recruiting, training, managing and supporting volunteers and staff members to ensure the effective operation of the store.

Customer engagement and leading by coaching volunteers and staff to have great conversations with every customer on" Rounding up" their purchase, making an "add donation" for our charity and signing up for our loyalty scheme.

Ensuring sales targets are met and direct costs are kept within managed budgets.

Ensuring all financial reporting and management, cash handling, daily banking and security procedures are followed.

Ensuring donated goods are processed according to set standards and timeframes, and that pricing is in line with charity guidelines.

Key Criteria: 

Solid retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.

Experience in managing a team. Managing volunteers would be an advantage.

Comprehensive understanding of retailing and merchandising display.

Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion.

Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.

Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.

We are looking for an exceptional Grants Commissioning Manager (Scotland), with a focus on Faslane. This is a senior management role working as part of the Grants team within the RNRMC at a time when the Charity’s strategy has a real focus on beneficiary need and impact, managing RNRMC commissioned grants in Scotland, ensuring that the funds are awarded in accordance with the Charities Values and Outcomes Framework.    

The role will work strategically with The Director of Relationships and Funding to support and deliver the charities funding plans for Scotland and support the Head of Commissioned Grants with all elements of the commissioning cycle including understanding need, designing projects, performance management of delivery and reporting of impact.  Working with internal and external stakeholders, the role will involve the oversight and good governance of grants programmes to ensure quality, evidenced outputs, and value for money of projects.      

In addition, you will lead and manage the Grants Administrator (Scotland, taking responsibility for actively and proactively supporting them to achieve in their post.

You will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of legacy cases where the charity is named as a beneficiary; work with external solicitors and lay executors to ensure that gifts are received in a timely fashion and that all internal and external procedures and legislation is adhered to; promote pragmatic solutions and refer appropriate matters to the Senior Legacy Manager to ensure all reputational risks are proactively managed.  

Additionally, you will be required to work on projects to improve the Legacy Team’s ways of working and to help support with the development and delivery of the team and organisational strategies. 

Expected travel for this role is approximately meeting internal and external stakeholders as required, approximately twice per quarter; this may increase during busy periods. In addition, attendance to two all-staff away days per year and team away days in London on a quarterly basis.
