We are looking for a Senior Database and Insight Manager maternity cover to join a talented team, passionate about working towards Action Against Hunger’s vision of a world free from hunger.
Sitting within the organisation’s Fundraising and Communications directorate, you’ll have overall responsibility for the department’s database and insight function – line managing two people (aDatabase Officer and a Database Assistant.
In this integral role, you’ll be working with your team to maintain an accurate, consistent and reliable dataset covering all areas of fundraising and engagement on our CRM – Raiser’s Edge. You’ll be responsible for making sure data is stored safely and compliantly, and that good data hygiene rules are in place. You’ll also be supporting and upskilling the Fundraising and Communications department to use the database properly, empowering them to get the information they need.

We are recruiting for a qualified Youth Worker to join our Family and Youth Services. You will plan, deliver and evaluate youth club activities for young people and ensure that all safeguarding, regulatory and health & safety requirements are met. Actively engaging with young people in informal learning opportunities that promote their physical, mental, social and emotional development.
This role requires a minimum of 2 years experience of leading youthwork sessions, either centre-based and/or detached. The candidate must have a minimum of a Level 3 Youth Work qualification or equivalent, and must be a driver due to the delivery of detached work on the Y Bus. In addition the role requires evening work during Term Time.
Key responsibilities:
- To actively engage with young people aged 10 to 18 in a wide range of youth work programmes that promote personal and social development
- To plan, deliver and evaluate our YMCA East Surrey Youth Work offering
- Coordinate YMCA’s detached programme – Y Bus and Street Talk including liaising with partner agencies. This includes driving our Y Bus.
- Coordinate YMCA’s holiday programme including applying for funding and delivering residentials.
- To oversee part time staff and volunteers, providing professional support and guidance.
- Delivering information, advice, and guidance to young people referring to specialist agencies where appropriate
- To meet with young people and set an action plan to assist with their social and personal development.
- To record and collect data with various tools and to use this to evaluate the effectiveness of youth work programmes.
- Involve young people in co-production of all the youth work undertaken
- Liaise with local partners and stakeholders in schools, the voluntary and statutory sectors to enhance the coherence, range, reach and quality of services for young people.
- To supervise the activity environment to ensure physical and emotional/personal safety for all children and young people attending

About the opportunity
This is a wonderful opportunity for a selection expert to join the Supporter Selections Team at Alzheimer’s Society in what is a really exciting time for both the charity and the team. You will be joining the team as we further develop our selections by using insight, both in and post-campaign, plus develop highly relevant and individualised supporter experiences to drive our communications and improve supporter journeys. The successful candidate will play an integral role in helping us achieve this alongside exploring new and improved ways of delivering our selections and supporter journeys, plus enhancing our processes through improvements to our systems.
As a Customer Selections Analyst, you will be responsible for working with teams from across Income & Engagement to ensure the successful delivery of accurate and targeted selections to support warm marketing activity and stewardship, plus the design and production of multi-stage supporter journeys through the use of PeopleStage, our campaign planning and management tool. Your proficiency in managing and prioritising tasks will be invaluable in delivering selections on our agreed Communications Plan, and you will be pivotal in enabling our organisation to communicate with the right supporters, through the right channel, at the right time, in the right way, through the systems and tools available to you.
As a trusted expert and a critical friend to Income & Engagement colleagues and stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in deepening understanding of Alzheimer’s Society’s supporters, particularly concerning their next best action. Through using accessible campaign results, data models and other sources of insight, you will enable colleagues to test hypotheses and pivot campaign comms to drive satisfaction, loyalty, and sustainable growth across Alzheimer’s Society’s audiences.

- Working alongside our Apteco partner to highlight process improvements to continuously refine and strengthen our selection process and provide the best possible stewardship solution.

This is a crucial and hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeing the charity’s financial management. You will ensure accurate and timely financial and management reporting, maintain robust financial controls, support the Senior Leadership Team in strategic decision-making, and drive continual improvements in systems and processes.

Key Responsibilites:
Routine Financial Oversight
· Oversee all accounting, cash management, reconciliations and authorisation of payments.
· Monitor day-to-day financial operations: banking transactions, current and deposit accounts, payroll, and other transactions.
· Maintain the fixed assets register and monthly depreciation.
· Manage cash flow, investing excess cash where appropriate.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
· Manage and prepare annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the Director of Operations and senior leadership team.
· Provide timely, accurate and accessible management accounts and reports for senior managers, budget holders and Trustees.
· Interpret complex financial information clearly for non-finance colleagues.
· Regularly update forecasts with a target of quarterly reporting.
Statutory Accounts, Compliance & Audit
· Lead the preparation and audit of end-of-year statutory accounts, working closely with external accountants/auditors.
· Ensure all statutory obligations are met including VAT returns, Gift Aid claims, Companies House, Charity Commission and HMRC requirements.
· Stay up to date with Charity SORP and charity sector financial regulations, ensuring compliance and training the team accordingly.
Systems, Process Improvement & Controls
· Design and implement financial systems and process improvements to drive efficiency.
· Maintain strong financial governance and internal controls.
· Monitor the effectiveness of financial practices and policies and make recommendations for improvements.
Team Leadership
· Supervise, develop and motivate the Finance Team to achieve high standards.

Event Finance Management
· Oversee financial management at New Wine events, including systems for income reconciliation, cash controls, onsite banking and petty cash.
· Ensure accurate reconciliation of income from the event booking system.
HR & Payroll Administration
· Oversee payroll preparation and submissions including HMRC and pensions.
Other Duties
· Respond to queries from Trustees, Director of Operations, budget managers and external stakeholders as required.
· Work well with all members of the wider staff team.
· Attend and sometimes lead staff prayers and other meetings.
