SLRA is a well-established local migrant support organisation working with and for refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants who are at risk or in crisis because of immigration issues. We provide specialist immigration advice as well as a broad range of practical, social and therapeutic support services. We also campaign for a fairer immigration system, involving local people with lived experience in influencing local and national policy and practice.

Our specialist Youth Service provides holistic, one to one casework and a programme of activities and trips. We are looking for a Head of Youth Services (maternity cover), who will work with other team members to support the effectiveness of operational activities, leading the youth services elements within the organisation. The postholder will be responsible for promoting the wellbeing, learning and development of youth service staff and volunteers and will lead on safeguarding the young people we work with, along with working closely with the Youth Casework Manager and CEO to manage established partnership projects.

• Substantial experience of working with refugee, asylum seeking and migrant children and young people facing multi-faceted issues, and managing those services. 
• Successful experience of effective project management, monitoring and evaluation.
• Significant experiences of casework management, confidentiality procedures, and safeguarding and child protection. 
• Knowledge of the issues faced by refugee, asylum seeking and migrant children and young people at an individual level. 
• Knowledge of requirements and responsibilities of Local Authorities in relation to young migrants, alongside local and regional statutory and non-statutory support agencies and their role.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to take a senior leadership role at North London Open Spaces, and directly contribute to and make a meaningful impact in the conservation and protection of these cherished green spaces. 

As a member of the senior management team, the successful candidate will serve as the primary subject matter expert at NLOS for nature conservation, conceiving and leading on initiatives, advising colleagues, and working collaboratively both internally and externally.  They will have responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day management of most of Hampstead Heath and all of Highgate Wood, and will also oversee a number of services that function across and support the four open spaces (eg, arboriculture and tree management, waste and recycling, conservation, and ecology).  

For the better performance of their duties, the Head of Conservation will be required to reside in accommodation that is provided on site and will be scheduled onto an on-call and duty manager rota with other colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for nature conservation at Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood, Queen’s Park, and West Ham Park
• Oversee the day-to-day management of Highgate Wood and most of Hampstead Heath
• Oversee arboriculture / tree management, waste management, conservation, habitat creation/restoration and management, wildlife management, water body management, and climate change adaptation across North London Open Spaces
• Lead and motivate a team of 25-30 multi-skilled professionals committed to the conservation of these four sites
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, including environmental protection, climate change, nature recovery, wildlife protection, flood risk management, and health and safety.

About You

We are looking for a high-energy and innovative leader with a strong background in nature conservation, open space management, and team leadership. 

The successful candidate will bring:

• Demonstrable experience in managing complex public open spaces.
• Comprehensive experience developing and delivering biodiversity and land management programmes and projects in a range of habitats, ideally within an urban setting.

• Significant experience managing complex conservation work and projects across varied landscapes
• Significant knowledge of biodiversity and wildlife management, including land and water management.

• Strong experience managing a diverse team of professionals in an operational environment. 

• Experience of implementing legislation and policy relevant to biodiversity conservation, planning guidance, and site designation for wildlife conservation and species status designations.
• A highly creative, entrepreneurial and ‘can do’ approach to problem solving, with the ability to remain resilient in the face of challenges. 
• Strong quantitative skills and comfort interrogating and analysing data and budgets.

About the role

The role will involve the management of the day-to-day financial activities, VAT, gift aid, payroll and the monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation. The job holder will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Finance Officer and volunteers within the team. There will be a requirement to work closely with the income generating staff, budget holders, auditors, banks and credit card providers on a regular basis.  The Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the Finance Officer and Finance volunteer.

IntoUniversity and the Royal National Children's SpringBoard Foundation are working in partnership to offer further life-transforming opportunities for IntoUniversity students to attend independent and state boarding schools on fully-funded bursaries.

We are looking for a Boarding Schools Bursary Manager to join our team. The postholder will have responsibility for leading and developing the Boarding Schools Bursary programme in partnership with Royal SpringBoard and will be the principal point of contact for IntoUniversity centres, the bursary students and their families, the boarding schools and Royal SpringBoard.

The successful candidate will quickly gain an understanding and knowledge of the IntoUniversity students recommended for bursary places and will develop relationships of trust with their families to ensure a smooth transition and integration into boarding school.

What will my main duties be?

Programme Management

• To oversee the IntoUniversity Boarding School Bursary Programme including recruitment of potential students and ongoing support of current boarders.
• To prepare the students and their families for Royal SpringBoard and school assessments as well as reparing for boarding school life. 
• To plan and/or attend boarding school taster and pastoral visits across the UK. 
• To create a calendar of out-of-boarding events and support for students and families to connect to their local centre, including centre visits and community hubs. 
• Work with the Safeguarding Team to promote the wellbeing of students and respond to safeguarding concerns (additional training will be provided for this aspect of the role). 
• Encourage post-18 alumni to engage with the Royal SpringBoard alumni programmes and the IntoUniversity Student Associate Network
• Ensure Salesforce database records and monitoring requirements are kept up to date. 

Stakeholder Management

• Manage the relationship with Royal Springboard, including reporting on KPIs and maintaining communication.
• To build strong relationships and liaise with the host boarding schools and the key staff members such as Houseparents.
• To provide support to parents/carers as needed and manage any issues that may arise sensitively, mediating between the boarding schools, parents/carers and students as necessary.

Location: This role is based at the LUX London office. This position will require at least 3 days per week working at the LUX office. Hybrid working options available.

The Deputy Director main responsibilities will include:

• Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and risk management aligned with organisational values and Arts Council Investment Principles.
• Co-lead the business plan and long-term strategy with the Director, translating goals into operational delivery.
• Oversee financial management, including budgeting, audits, payroll, procurement, cash flow, statutory reporting, and fundraising and income generation strategies, ensuring compliance and value for money.
• Prepare and submit quarterly and annual reports to public funders, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure legal and governance compliance across charity, company, employment, safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection; support the Board of Trustees with reports and governance documentation.
• Manage operations, including admin systems, IT, building maintenance, insurance, accessibility, sustainability, and lease compliance.
• Lead HR processes: recruitment, contracts, onboarding, appraisals, staff development, and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace with HR consultant support.

Responsible to: Programme Manager: Safeguarding Partnerships Community engagement work –

Work as part of a dynamic team delivering the Safeguarding on Transport (ST) project, in partnership with British Transport Police (BTP). You will be responsible for developing our community engagement work in the West Midlands, as well as supporting the wider UK work. This work consists of developing the Safeguarding Action Groups (SAG) and also encouraging members of the local rail industry to engage with our training and become part of the safety net for vulnerable young people on the rail network. The role will require working closely with British Transport Police, station staff and employees as well as local services in the area.

We are working in partnership with Andover Mind, a charity that supports people with mental ill health in Andover, Basingstoke and Aldershot and the wider community.  They are seeking an Interim HR Manager to join the Senior Leadership team as they embark on a new three-year strategy for growth, sustainability and a wider range of support.

The Interim HR Manager is responsible for the management of cases involving grievance, disciplinary, long-term sickness and other HR issues.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Working experience at a similar level within a small HR team
• Up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks for efficiency and speed of reaction
• Experience and ability to organise and participate in multiple cases at the same time
• Demonstrable experience of Case Management in a large organisation
• Proven experience in Employee relations, providing HR advice to CEO/Senior management
• CIPD qualified to level 5, preferably Level 7 CIPD achieved or working towards is desirable, but not essential

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing HR practices, processes, policies and strategies in line with Andover Mind’s Business Plan, promoting the values and contributing to employee wellbeing.  Their main responsibility will be leading on case work, managing transition to an outsourced HR service, advising on challenging HR cases including: - employee relations issues such as long-term sickness, issuing documentation on all staff issues, producing metrics on workload.
