The Institute of Physics (IOP), in collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and Science Made Simple (SMS), is seeking a proactive and highly organised Project Coordinator for a fixed period until 31st March 2028 to support delivery of the Boosting Science Education in Wales initiative, funded by the Welsh Government’s Curriculum for Wales Grant.
This three-year project aims to address the shortage of physics and chemistry practitioners in Wales by improving science teaching and learning outcomes across primary and secondary schools.

The Role
The Project Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the project by providing coordination, administrative, and communication support across the three delivery partners, Institute of Physics, Royal Society of Chemistry and Science Made Simple.
What will I be doing?
- Coordinating and delivering events across Wales, including professional learning days, workshops, forums, and online sessions ensuring smooth logistics, bookings, communications, and on-the-day support.
- Supporting project communications, including updating webpages and social media, drafting newsletters, and promoting opportunities to schools and stakeholders.
- Managing practitioner bursaries, tracking applications and coordinating payment processes.
- Coordinating partner meetings, including scheduling, preparing papers, minute-taking, and monitoring follow-up actions.
- Maintaining accurate data and reporting, ensuring compliance with GDPR and supporting monitoring of project impact.
- Liaising with venues, suppliers, schools, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery, accessibility, and strong engagement across Wales.
Projects you work on may include:
- Secondary and Primary Science Days, large-scale national events bringing together practitioners for hands-on workshops and professional learning.
- Steps into Science primary workshops, sessions that help primary practitioners build confidence with practical science.
- Welsh Physics Teaching Network, a programme of support featuring coaching, mentoring, physics forums, and resource round-up sessions for practitioners across Wales.
- Inclusion & Equity Network activities, supporting networks focused on Science Capital, equitable practice, and practitioner collaboration.
- Thinking, Doing, Talking Science training, evidence-based professional learning for primary practitioners.
- Teach Chemistry workshops and networks, including practical chemistry sessions, live online courses, and the Welsh Chemistry Teaching Network.
- Practitioner and technician bursary scheme, administering and tracking bursaries to widen access to professional learning.
- Bilingual resource development and promotion, supporting creation and dissemination of teaching materials, including those hosted on Hwb.
Who will I work with?
The role will work closely with colleagues across the Institute of Physics, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and Science Made Simple, while developing strong relationships with schools, practitioners, technicians, venues, suppliers, and wider education stakeholders across Wales to ensure effective coordination, seamless delivery, and consistent engagement throughout the project.

Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in project administration or coordination, ideally within education, Events, or the public/charity sector
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to accuracy and tone.
- Confident in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and online collaboration tools
- Experience coordinating events and liaising with external stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues across multiple organisations and tocontribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
- A proactive and flexible approach, with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel across Wales and occasionally work evenings or weekends to support events

How will I be working / Where will I work?
The project coordinator will work in a hybrid way, with flexibility to work from home, at the IOP’s Cardiff office and the offices of our project partners as required (all partners are Cardiff based). This role will also involve travel across Wales to support events, meetings and project delivery.

Listening Books is a charity that provides an excellent audiobook lending service to people whose illness, disability, specific learning difficulty or mental health condition impacts on their ability to read the printed word. Our audiobook catalogue contains over 10,000 titles and reaches over 100,000 members across the UK. We believe that books should be accessible to everyone. The successful candidate will be responsible for buying and processing all new titles for our catalogue and regularly liaising with publishers to maintain our excellent relationships with them, ensuring all our contracts and paperwork remains up-to-date. The candidate will be responsible for both the administrative and technical aspects of adding new titles to our catalogue via our download platform, OverDrive Inc. Training will be given but a high level of computer literacy is essential. The candidate will also be responsible for managing the budget for titles and must have previous experience of handling basic budgets.
We can offer flexible working arrangements, including remote, office-based, or hybrid options for the right candidate. There is also some flexibility in how hours are distributed across the week; however, we would prefer that a portion of the hours be worked on Thursday or Friday. A salary of £28,000 per annum (pro-rata) and a matched contribution pension scheme up to 8% of salary, following successful completion of the probation period.

The Major Donor and Trusts Manager will play a pivotal role in driving RNID’s High Value fundraising strategy. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio of major donors and trusts, strengthen stewardship processes, and develop innovative engagement strategies. Working in close partnership with the Senior Philanthropy Manager and High Value colleagues, you’ll help unlock transformational gifts that make a lasting impact.
You will:
· Cultivate and manage relationships with major donors and trusts.
· Design and deliver innovative stewardship plans.

Key responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Plan, coordinate and deliver integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns and events to achieve income targets, ensure consistent messaging and strengthen supporter engagement across all channels.
- Work closely with the global communications team to deliver the organisation’s marketing and communications strategy in alignment with global objectives.
- Manage website content in WordPress, ensuring it is accurate, engaging, and regularly updated.
- Oversee the social media strategy, creating and scheduling high-quality content (using Canva and Later) to grow brand awareness and supporter engagement.
- Manage ambassador and influencer relationships to support campaigns, storytelling, and reach.
- Design and deliver email campaigns and supporter newsletters through Mailchimp, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Stay up to date with trends, world events, and digital innovations to keep content and messaging relevant and impactful.
Fundraising
- Create and deliver engaging donor experiences, content and supporter journeys to maintain and grow long-term investor support and ensure a high-quality experience for all supporters.
- Collaborate with the CEO and global team to identify and develop new fundraising opportunities and audiences.
Unleashed Women – Community & Investor Stewardship
- Act as the primary staff relationship lead for the Unleashed Women community.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing stewardship of Unleashed Women members.
- Coordinate the planning, promotion and delivery of monthly virtual forums and quarterly in-person gatherings, working closely with the Executive & Operations VA on all logistics.
- Maintain regular communication and engagement with members through WhatsApp groups, email updates and event communications, ensuring consistent tone, warmth and responsiveness.
- Act as a key link between Unleashed Women and THP’s global country teams, ensuring meaningful programme engagement and feedback.
- Support retention and thoughtful growth of the community through relationship-led follow-up and investor care.
- Ensure all Unleashed Women activity is accurately reflected in Beacon and associated supporter systems.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain and manage the Beacon CRM database, ensuring accurate data capture, segmentation, and analysis to support effective fundraising, stewardship, and communications.
- Ensure all new and lapsed investors are correctly tagged and updated in Mailchimp, Beacon and other relevant systems.
- Evaluate and report on the performance of fundraising and marketing campaigns, interpreting data from CRM and digital platforms to measure impact and inform strategy.
Operations
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve key operational systems and processes to ensure efficiency and smooth day-to-day functioning.
- Coordinate and maintain fundraising platforms such as Benevity and JustGiving, ensuring campaign pages are accurate, up to date, and performing effectively.
Line Management
- Oversee the recruitment, coordination, and management of volunteers, ensuring they are well-supported, effectively deployed, and aligned with the organisation’s goals.

Experience
- At least eight years’ experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven success delivering multi-channel marketing and fundraising campaigns that meet or exceed targets.
- Confident in using and maintaining CRM systems (preferably Beacon) to manage supporter relationships and analyse data.

We are approaching the midpoint of implementation of our strategy “It starts with community”. Over the last few years our funding portfolios in each of the nations of the UK and corporate functions have worked hard to embed the strategic ambitions we set ourselves. We are looking to take stock of our progress, understand how a changing world may impact our work and explore how we can grow our ambition to address the issues that will impact communities over the years ahead. Building on what we have achieved so far, we want to make greater progress including:
- Ensuring the fund has a thorough and live understanding of its collective response to the strategy, where our successes are and where there are opportunities to go further.
- Supporting our senior management team to come together to understand and explore our progress and shape the strategic direction for the organisation together
- Supporting greater engagement and collaboration between funding portfolios to enable sharing and learning, to build a better collective understanding of our missions and commitments and grow our impact
- Delivering ambitious and impactful projects to address common opportunities and challenges, for example to support the embedding of partnership working across the Fund, or to respond to the challenges and opportunities presented by new technologies.

Your day will be a blend of strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and practical execution, with plenty of opportunities to collaborate, influence, and drive change across the Fund. You will be one of two permanent managers in a small new team led by the Head of Strategy Development.
As this is a new team roles and responsibilities will be defined as the Team comes together. However, responsibilities may include:
- Drafting Senior Management Team (SMT) and Board reports on strategy implementation to update on progress and promote discussions on areas for development.
- Monitoring of funding portfolio strategy development and delivery activity, including maintaining regular engagement with portfolio representatives.
- Reviewing progress reports, identifying risks and issues and shaping recommendations to meet challenges and opportunities to go further in meeting strategic ambitions.
- Working closely with the Fund’s Governance Team to ensure the appropriate use of governance fora to provide oversight of strategy implementation and development work and maintaining an effective forward look of key priorities.
- Leading on engagement with key corporate functions, such as analytical, communications, legal and Human Resources, to support alignment with strategic ambitions.
- Engaging with funding teams across the Fund to support strong alignment between strategic ambition and operational realities.
- Leading discreet projects to explore emerging shared opportunities and challenges, undertaking desk research, engaging internal and external stakeholders and shaping proposals.
