Our mission is to bring hope and positive change to children and families.  To achieve this we deliver a range of services.  The Catholic Children’s Society (CCS) is one of the largest providers of mental health services to schools in London.  Currently we have over 50 counsellors/therapists working on-site in approximately 70 schools (both Catholic non-Catholic).  We also provide high quality early years education and family support, including offering emergency assistance for families in crisis.

Role Details

We are looking for someone with a passion to improve healthcare for babies born premature or sick, through supporting neonatal units to improve practice with the Bliss Baby Charter.

The Baby Charter is a national accreditation programme being undertaken by most neonatal units in the UK. It aims to improve outcomes for babies born premature or sick by encouraging neonatal healthcare professionals to involve parents in the care of their baby. This is known as Family Integrated Care, or FICare.

Purpose of the role

The Alcohol Behavioral Change Specialist is responsible for collaboratively designing and implementing, evidence-based programmes applying appropriate behavioural change models aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm, and promoting long-term behavioral change related to alcohol consumption.

As a leading charity focused on alcohol harm reduction, the postholder will be Drinkaware’s internal expert regarding alcohol harm to individuals and will have a good understanding of brief interventions, as well as information, advice and guidance including quality assurance across our work. They will work across the organisation providing expert advice and guidance.

Since last year, we have been gradually launching our new Excellence Network regional clinical lead roles across England as part of our new regional model in England. We're now recruiting for the final regional clinical lead in England to lead their regional network in London.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day work of our innovative Hearing Voices Projects. • Oversee the current Hearing Voices Projects to ensure they are consistent and embody the Mind in Camden and Hearing Voices Movement ethos.
• Be part of some of the frontline work, including facilitating groups.
• Build networks and deliver training sessions for the Hearing Voices Projects.
• Liaise with the finance department and ensure the projects are meeting targets for funders.
• Support relevant data monitoring and evaluation on the projects.

What Will Your Typical Day Involve?

• Delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred nursing care to residents in collaboration with Registered Nurses

Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top ten adult hospices in the UK, providing specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, South West London and Middlesex. 

The Night Response Team (NR) provides specialist on call palliative nursing care between the hours of 22.00 and 08.00, 7 days a week for palliative care patients known to Princess Alice Hospice.

The Team also provides nursing care and assistance to palliative and general patients who are referred from the district nursing service, the OOH’s service (111), local ambulance services SECAMB and LAS, Mole Valley Telecare and Tunstall Community Alarm services. This includes palliative patients who are not known to PAH. Night Response visit patients in their own homes as well as in care and residential homes.

A Night Response shift will be covered by two members of staff per night, usually one RN and an SHCA, occasionally two RN’s.

We are based in an office on the in-patient unit at the Hospice. We receive calls, provide information, support and advice to patients, families, and other health care professionals, whilst visiting patients as required throughout the night.

The Night Response Service brings the skills and expertise of our highly trained and dedicated specialist team directly into the patients homes. This allows patients, their families and carers access to the vital support they need at home, when time matters most, providing the opportunity for patients to remain at home and reducing the need for hospital admissions.  

 About the role: 

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, dynamic and versatile Staff Nurse with excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone triage skills, to join our Night Response Team.

Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential. You will need to be able to work autonomously and have an excellent understanding of care provision in the community and be involved in auditing the service provided. 

You will need a full driving license with a maximum of 6 points for use of the hospice vehicle (automatic)
