At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education. 

We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, supporting them to become safe and more resilient by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events, as well as provide education to the public so that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.

Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives. 

Through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time. 

We will make sure you will have access to a proper induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for our Caerphilly and District group. As our local Group Coordinator you’ll take the lead in making sure your local group works as effectively as possible. You’ll recruit, induct and support other group volunteers to make sure your group’s activities meet the needs of your local MS community. We are working in partnership with Andover Mind, the charity has been working in the local area since 1984, and more recently in Romsey, Basingstoke and Aldershot, providing support, advice, and information for anyone affected by mental health distress.  They also deliver training and encourage local people to talk about mental health to help break down the stigma which surrounds the subject. 

A new three-year business plan was recently agreed, and its implementation is underway.

Andover Mind is now seeking to appoint Trustees to add diversity to their Board of Trustees.  The Board provide collective governance leadership of the organisation, and the Trustees will play a key role in setting the strategic direction of the organisation and overall policy, defining goals, establishing targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets, as set out in the business plan.

They are looking for new trustees with a range of skills and experience, different backgrounds and all walks of life. This might include those with lots of experience and those who may have less and keen to have their first Board appointment.

No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.

We are seeking Event Nurses to respond to and manage emergency calls/incidents whilst attending events. Event nurses shall provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care and undertake clinical assessment and interventions in the pre-hospital environment, which may include venues such as stadia, concert halls, motorsports tracks, road races etc. This will mainly involve working in treatment units or temporary event medical centres.

Successful candidates will be registered nurses with the NMC and be able to provide evidence of CPD activity within the previous 12 months.

They act as the first point of contact and they make sure all relevant information is circulated to other volunteers and members. And they play an important role in keeping our data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

In this role you’ll develop your administration and organisation skills. Most importantly you’ll be help your local group run efficiently, so they can keep providing valuable services to our MS community. Time Commitment

Network covers East Kent area -Dover, Canterbury & Thanet, working in predominantly in local area.

Expected to undergo a DBS check & e-learning modules. To progress to a community first aider, a candidate would be expected to undergo a 2 days of face to face training in addition to regular training opportunities to maintain and develop skills, delivering 80hrs of volunteering annually across the Network area.

We are looking to run a volunteering selection session between 01/08/2025 - 18/08/2025 Candidates will be interviewed at the Canterbury Venue. 
If you are successful a Welcome Event (Induction) is due to take place between 06/10/2025 - 20/10/2025 this will also take place at the Canterbury Venue with more information confirmed with successful applicants.

We are looking to recruit a Finance Volunteer for our Salisbury and District Group. As a Finance Volunteer, you would be joining a coordinating team of volunteers to plan and deliver services and activities to support people locally.

Join us as a Patient Transport Volunteer Driver and become a vital part of our Patient Transport Service in your local area. Your commitment will ensure that vulnerable patients can access essential medical appointments on time with ease and comfort.

As a volunteer, you'll be the friendly face that patients rely on during their journey to appointments. Your role is simple yet profoundly impactful: providing safe and reliable transportation, while offering reassurance and support during a challenging time in their lives.

There are no set shifts or required hours, however we do have a preference for weekend availability, although not set in stone.

You simply let us know your availability, and we’ll schedule pick-ups accordingly. It’s fully flexible and based on when you're free.
