Main purpose of post
As the Operations Assistant you will be supporting the Operations Manager in
delivering and maintaining effective operational function at the charity.
Including but not exclusively, Health & Safety, Premises, Facilities, Vehicle
Management, and IT Services.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their
knowledge of operations, risk management and policy writing with scope to
develop your skills whilst also contributing to a great cause.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
 Act as the first point of contact for premises, facilities, IT and Estates
issues across all Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.
 Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining a secure and organised
premises and facilities, which ensure colleagues, volunteers and visitors
are safe and experience a welcoming environment.
 Support the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the Annual
Operations plan.
 Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and take
minutes in operations-related working groups.
 Support with updating operational policies and procedures.
 Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO), alongside the Operations
Manager - following relevant training, to promote a strong GDPR culture.
 Assist in the coordination of charity vehicle fleet maintenance schedules
and provide breakdown response support.
 Assist in the control and coordination of the use of charity space and
assets, including liaising with contractors and Sheffield Teaching
Hospitals (STH) on relevant matters as required.
 Act as a designated keyholder, responsible for the opening and closing
procedure.
 Manage the operations shared email inbox.

Health & Safety
 Serve as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters,
including incidents and accidents, ensuring accurate recording and
reporting.
 Provide operational and administrative support on all Health & Safety
matters at our sites and external locations (including external events and
the Outreach Service, updating COSHH reports).
 Assist in the procurement, delivery and recording of mandatory staff
training needs.
 Help establish and maintain safe working practices and policies and
undertake basic risk assessments.

Workwear and equipment
 Act as the first point of contact for workwear and equipment requests;
including being responsible for issuing and returning stock, regular stock
checks and ordering stock as required.

Tech Support
 Serve as the first point of contact for general IT enquiries.
 Consult with IT consultants to ensure adherence to processes.
 Work with the Operations Manager to implement processes that
maintain the IT security score.
 Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including
software licenses, logins, and induction training.
 Serve as lead administrator for key operational software, such as Webex
phone system and Vatix Lone Worker App.

General Administrative Support & Development
 Handle general enquiries from staff, patients, and volunteers efficiently.
 Manage charity postal enquiries.
 Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of stationery and
consumables.
 Assist the wider team with ad hoc work and undertake small projects
that support the charity's work. e.g. Events, Logistical and Tech Support.

Environmental Advocate
 Work with the Operations Manager to promote environmental
awareness and encourage the charity adopts a green approach (e.g.,
recycling, energy use, carbon footprint).
 Identify and implement actions to reduce environmental impacts, costs,
and/or increase income under the direction of the Operations Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and Resident Care

There is a clear duty to follow LBL’s safeguarding protocols, including timely reporting of serious and notifiable incidents to the appropriate authorities and participation in safeguarding reviews if required. Night staff will be trained in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns, including domestic violence and abuse, and understand the escalation routes within the partnership framework.

Safety and Security

· Ensure resident safety by implementing visitor procedures and preventing unauthorised access.

· Conduct health and safety checks and patrols around the building and exterior.

· Monitor CCTV, address antisocial behaviour, and complete relevant reports

· Report repairs and any health and safety issues

Incident and Emergency Procedures

Night staff must be familiar with emergency protocols, including fire safety, evacuation, and business continuity plans, ensuring resident safety and compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.

Administrative Duties

· Update INFORM with relevant details of all resident interactions during shifts.

· Maintain accurate and comprehensive resident records to professional standards.

· Encourage residents to pay rent and ensure rent accounts are managed effectively.

Housing Management and Property Standards

Night Waking Support Workers must conduct regular health and safety checks, report repairs promptly

Professional Development

· Engage in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills.

· Develop the ability to defuse and de-escalate challenging behaviour with personal safety awareness.

· Adhere to MPMTs Policies and Procedures

Compliance with Policies and Procedures

Proportionality: The occupational requirement is a proportionate means of achieving the legitimate aim, as it directly addresses the needs of residents in a way that cannot be achieved through alternative measures, such as reallocating duties or employing male/male presenting staff for this role.

PSS invented Shared Lives back in 1978 and it’s now become a national model of care that lots of other social care providers run. We’re really proud of that. What do we need out deputy head of Shared Lives to do?

Alongside the head of Shared Lives, your job will be to make sure each one of the services in Shared Lives is absolutely top-notch in every way:

• They provide excellent support to the people who use our Shared Lives service

On a day-to-day basis, your work would involve things like:

• Getting behind our Shared Lives teams and offering them your support with Care Quality Commission (CQC) compliance, safeguarding reports and complaints
• Leading the way when we win new contacts in new areas of the UK (the plan is to grow our schemes)
• Deputising for our head of Shared Lives: maintaining the risk register for services, identifying, managing, monitoring and escalating risks appropriately when our head of Shared Lives isn’t around
• Helping keep our Shared Lives carers and supported people feeling happy, connected, motivated and part of our big Shared Lives family
• Finding out what our carers and supported people need and how they feel things are going by heading out on the road to meet them

The postholder will support the delivery of a specialist domestic abuse (DA) project in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) in the London borough of Brent. The role aims to raise awareness and promote best practice in responding to domestic abuse across CLCH staff, improving support for patients impacted by domestic abuse. This will involve delivering training, workshops, and guidance to health professionals, providing consultancy on embedding DA response pathways, and helping CLCH navigate referrals to local domestic abuse support agencies. The role combines professional training, advocacy, and systems change to strengthen the health sector’s response to domestic abuse. The postholder will work across the Brent borough, attending community hubs and co-locating to deliver services when needed.

The postholder may be approached by staff seeking advice or consultation regarding male victims of domestic abuse. About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer you will need the below experience and skills:

• A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.
• Experience in designing, delivering, and promoting engaging training and learning sessions on domestic abuse, tailored to professionals and stakeholders across a variety of settings.
• Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders as well as experience of working within in multi-agency environment.
• Ability to provide consultancy and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on domestic abuse-related issues, offering informed advice and support.

About the role

The Senegal team are looking to recruit a Programme Manager Eye Health to oversee the development, co-ordination and management of Sightsavers programmes in Senegal.  The postholder will ensure alignment with Sightsavers policies and preferred programme approaches (in particular the principles of scalable demonstration approaches) working closely with the Country Director to maintain in- house quality standards on the delivery of programmes.

Key accountabilities but not limited to:

• Lead the development of country level action and implementation plans for eye health as agreed with the Global Technical Lead, Eye Health and Country Director, Senegal.
• Provision of effective management, coordination, technical advice and resource allocation necessary to support eye health in Senegal
• Deliver effective monitoring and support the evaluation of all aspects of the Eye Health programme, applying learning systematically to drive continuous improvement in projects and programmes
• Undertake regular monitoring visits to programme sites and to partners.
• Assist in preparing Budgets for projects and monitor expenditure against these, advising the Country Director on financial trends for example.
• Work with the finance team to ensure proper partner accountability for Sightsavers funds.
• Identify new strategic partnerships within the country to help develop Sightsavers eye health programme.
• Participate in all PR activities of the Country Office and represent Sightsavers at different forums in collaboration with the Country Director.

Essential knowledge and skills

• Degree in Medicine, preferably an Ophthalmologist or Postgraduate Degree in Public Health, Sciences or related disciplines.
• A proven track record within Programme/Project management, ideally in an INGO environment at PM level.
• Significant experience of strategic programme development.
• Technical knowledge on eye health in Senegal.
• Experience of managing an eye care programme in Africa, ideally in an international context.
• Strong advocacy, monitoring evaluation and research and logistics and supply chain management
• Current and ongoing right to work in Senegal
• Able to travel as and when required

Purpose of the Role

To lead and manage support staff, working with service users in their homes. Be aware of and work to trauma informed principles and manage the service as a psychologically informed environment. Ensure staff to work to psychologically informed principles and help service users to develop aspirations for their future. This will include developing goals for employment training and education.
