St Germain’s Wellbeing (SGW) was established in 2020 as a community-based mental health service aiming to equip people to self-manage their mental health issues. Now an independent charity, SGW has become one of the main mental health referral points for GP-based social prescribers throughout Birmingham and North Solihull. Each year we support around a thousand service users using evidence-based interventions.

As the Service Manager and Lead Practitioner, you will  manage a dedicated service delivery team of staff and volunteers, training new Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners and collaborating with the CEO on recruitment. Your role will also involve direct service delivery, conducting one-to-one sessions, facilitating group workshops, and managing weekly drop-in support.

In addition to service delivery, you will oversee the monitoring and evaluation of interventions, ensuring outcomes are accurately recorded and reported to funders. You will also serve as the internal safeguarding lead, maintaining and developing policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all service users.

You will work collaboratively with the CEO, Board of Trustees and St Germain’s Church to integrate the mental health service within the church’s holistic community provision, fostering strong partnerships with local referral agents and promoting the service to generate engagement.

The role is offered on a permanent basis, subject to ongoing funding.

This maternity cover post is ideal for someone who is keen to develop existing policy skills as well as build external affairs and communications experience. The role provides the opportunity to join a small agile team at the Council of Deans of Health, the representative body for the UK’s university faculties engaged in education and research for nursing, midwifery and the allied health professions.

We are looking for someone with a broad skill set including experience in developing policy, strong interpersonal skills, good organisation, and clear written communication. The successful candidate will be able to balance varied tasks and provide support to colleagues in the Council of Deans of Health team.

Main responsibilities:

• Support the development of Council policy with a particular focus on research policy.
• Monitor, analyse and evaluate policy developments, producing briefings, position papers and consultation responses.
• Liaise with members on both a formal and informal basis to develop and test policy priorities and positions.
• Represent the Council of Deans of Health to external stakeholders, building effective working relationships with a range of organisations.
• Contribute to the effective external communication of the Council’s policy work, including working with the Council’s communications lead to draft press releases and political positions.
• Help facilitate the meetings of nation, regional and strategic policy groups online and offline including travel across the UK.

The Council has an office in Woburn House, central London although all staff are currently working in a mixed home/office working model. The postholder should therefore be able to attend the office as required. The salary for this post is £31,000 – £37,500 depending on experience. Purpose of the Job 

Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind run an innovative crisis prevention service designed as a place for children and young people at risk of mental health crises to de-escalate and have access to a skilled staff team to support them. The Circle is open out of hours (3pm-11pm or 12pm-8pm weekends and holidays), 365 days a year, and has been designed to reduce the need for young people to attend A&E. Co-designed by young people, it is a friendly and accessible space.The mental health adviser role is key to the support that children and young people will receive on site, and you will have the opportunity to work with 5-18 year olds, as well as providing signposting and support to parents/carers and other agencies.

This Mental Health Adviser role would suit an experienced Mental Health Youth Worker, CAMHS support worker, Youth Counsellor, Child Wellbeing Practitioner, Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, an Assistant Psychologist with some training in MH interventions like CBT,  or other roles that have given you experience and skills in  working with Children and Young People presenting with difficulties related to their Mental Health.

Key Responsbilities

• Work as part of a team dedicated to providing support to children and young people who are at risk of mental health crisis, or may otherwise attend A&E.
• Offer one to one support via drop in or appointments, and be child-centred in that support.
• Work alongside children and young people, their parents/carers and families in increasing self-management of presenting difficulties.
• Signpost anyone accessing the service to appropriate and local on-going support; and build up your knowledge and networks of such support.
• Understand and implement safeguarding procedures, and be familiar with safeguarding law, and how it applies to our work.
• Follow risk procedures, be familiar with completing risk assessments, and refer to on-call or senior managers appropriately.

You will have:

• A minimum of two years’ experience of supporting children and/young people in a mental health service or similar role in a paid or volunteer capacity, in a 1:1 and group setting
• An ability to form supportive relationships with families, and tailor support to individual need.
• A child-centred approach to work.
• Working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding.
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity issues and the ability to integrate into your work.

An opportunity has arisen to lead and run our Reachout Youth project, delivering weekly groups for young people aged 13-19 who are experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties. The groups are an informal, fun, confidential space where young people can meet and chat, participate in feel good activities and receive helpful information and tools. There are two groups a week, one on Thursdays in Tunbridge Wells between 4.30pm – 6pm and another in a community venue or a school in Tunbridge Wells or Tonbridge, details to be confirmed.

You will have experience of working with young people, and the ability to facilitate groups, plan and deliver creative activities that engage young people and encourage participation. You will have excellent communication and administration skills. We are looking for someone energetic, positive, warm and welcoming, who is able to deal with challenging situations with confidence.

The role is for 13 hours per week, for delivery of the groups, dealing with referrals, client support, planning, administration and supervision. Some flexibility to work from home outside of the groups is possible, although this is an office-based role.

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a BAM Counsellor to support our BAM Team.

Becoming A Man (BAM) is a two-year school-based counselling and mentoring programme that guides young men as they learn, practice, and internalise social-emotional skills, make responsible decisions for their future, and become positive members of their school and community. BAM was first developed in Chicago by Youth Guidance in 2001 and has been validated by two randomised control trials, having shown long-term positive outcomes for young people. Since 2020, BAM has been delivered in six secondary schools across Lambeth and Islington by the Mental Health Foundation (MHF).

MHF is seeking a new Counsellor to join the team in continuing the programme across schools in Islington. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in partnership with teachers and school staff, effective leadership skills, and a background in youth engagement will be required.

What does the role involve?

· leading and facilitating four to five weekly BAM groups during the school-day, utilizing youth engagement, clinical counselling, Men’s Work, and Rites of Passage skills;

· collaborating with school administration, teachers, and other Mental Health Foundation programmes to provide and participate in professional development sessions.

· The appointed person will be able to effectively engage diverse groups of young people in group activity and be proficient in recording confidential case notes in a timely manner.

This is an exciting policy role in our committed team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. Sessions will enable people to have a better understanding of their own mental health, what is needed to keep them well, and to engage in wider community activities, be socially active and develop aspirations in expanding their skills and ambitions.

You will also offer informal 1-2-1 support where needed, to offer guidance and information that reduces the chance that people will fall through gaps, be isolated and ensuring the right support and the right time that manages a range of needs.

In addition, you will assess individuals’ suitability for the service and signpost where necessary. There will also be opportunity to support events in the community to raise awareness of our services and build links with local organisations

You will need to be empathetic and deliver a person-centred approach in a non-judgemental way, collaborating with people to empower and engage them.

We are looking for two Recovery Motivators to join our teams in the Camden Integrated Drug and Alcohol service. Our Recovery Motivators will focus on a lead area - Women and The Camden Hostel Pathway.

About the roles:

SHP/CGL within the new Partnership and Camden’s Integrated Drug and Alcohol service has secured 1 year's funding for 2 exciting role s for people with a lived experience to support other in Recovery. The 2 roles will be specialist roles and based in both treatment sites as well as some Camden hostels with the in-reach team and well working with the Women's Senior Practitioner across women's services. The idea of the role is for People with a lived experience from homelessness and or Substance misuse help and support and shape services along with specialist practitioners working for both SHP and CGL.

The new post Women's post will be working across Camden substance misuse services to build safe spaces for women to access the treatment they need without fear from further harm or trauma. (*For genuine occupational requirement reasons, we are seeking female applicants only for this post (exemption under the Equality Act 2010; Schedule 9 Part 1). 

The new Hostel based post will be working with the Recovery in reach team to develop positive activities for Camden's hostel pathway clients to access treatment but also develop positive things in their lives to inspire their recovery. 

We are looking for 2 dynamic individuals to develop their skills as well as learn Trauma informed interventions to develop and transform clients experience of treatment and services which supports better lives and outcomes for clients. 

About you:

• An individual with a lived experience of substance misuse as well as experience of accessing Treatment and Recovery services.
• An understanding of the principles of planned support and working with vulnerable people.
• An understanding of the principles underlying a quality and customer focussed service with the proven ability to empower service users.
• The ability to be self-motivating, work under pressure and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need.
• Willingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirements and work outside of office hours on occasion.

Josephine's Star is a small, quickly growing charity, set up to support children who have experienced the death of someone significant in their lives.  The Bereavement Support Team Lead role is central to the successful running of the charity, coordinating our support programme with grief support workers, volunteers, schools and parents.  The role requires an understanding and recognition of the sensitive, potentially challenging nature of the conversations with those affected by bereavement. ● Experience of delivering services in a child centred environment

● Have an understanding of bereavement and the issues that affect children and young people following the death of someone significant. 

● Experience of liaising or working within a school or children's education centres

● Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with service users and colleagues at all levels.

Our influencing work is changing the UK conversation about domestic abuse, with both national and locally based elected representatives and the officials and colleagues who work alongside them.

Our Public Affairs and Policy Officer, reporting to the Head of Public Affairs and Policy, will be crucial in helping us to develop our engagement, as well as deepen our policy influencing capacity to support our roll-out of ground-breaking interventions to end domestic abuse and ensure support for the whole family to keep people safe sooner.
