Working alongside the Regional Services Manager and Team Manager, you'll take on a specialist role focused on clients with complex support needs linked to high-risk offending behaviour (MAPPA Level 2 & 3), mental and physical health issues, and substance use. You’ll build trusted relationships, support clients to reduce their risk of reoffending, and help them access the services they need, from mental health and medical care to pathways out of homelessness. Your work will not only promote social inclusion and greater independence for each individual, but also directly contribute to creating safer, stronger communities.

The working rota for this post is Monday-Friday (no weekend shifts) and a mixture of earlies (8am - 3.30pm) & lates (3pm - 1.30pm.)

• The ability to manage a caseload and deliver positive outcomes utilising your knowledge of the health, social care and criminal justice sector.   
• A flexible, innovative and creative approach to working with a sometimes hard to engage and challenging client group, is also required.

What does the role involve?

The Membership and Awards Assistant is a new role in the Membership team at the British Pharmacological Society. The Membership and Awards Assistant will work with the Membership and Awards Manager, other Society staff and the Society’s members to ensure that all aspects of the membership and awards service are operated effectively and efficiently, including membership, awards and travel bursary applications, member renewals and progression, and election to Fellowship and Honorary Fellowship.

Health & Safety Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Officer to join our Estates Team. In your role as the Health & Safety Officer will be to provide support on an operational basis to the health & safety function.

Role Requirements

• Promote good stakeholder involvement and good safety culture
• Prepare and issue monthly health and safety briefing documents / toolbox talks
• Keep health and safety information up to date, including all fire safety documentation (fire emergency plans, fire safety manuals etc.), the health and safety section of the intranet and shared documents
• Carry out regular walkabouts, including at retail stores, keeping in touch with staff on their safety arrangements and ensuring control measures are in place and effective
• Provide health and safety training and coaching on topics such as, but not limited to, general health & safety (induction and refresher training), fire safety, COSHH, risk assessing and manual handling
• Develop and refresh internal online training to support staff learning experiences
• Carry out general risk assessment, as required, with particular emphasis on retail, regulatory requirements, outings and the clinical environment.
• Update fire risk assessments for low to medium-risk buildings, tracking completion of actions and updating compliance software
• Manage COSHH risk assessments and the COSHH risk register, checking on suitable PPE and storage
• Manage compliance with workstation assessments, including homeworking, using the external management system
• Support teams, enabling them to carry out their risk assessments, including manual handling assessments for inanimate activities
• Develop and keep up to date Safe Operating Procedures for health and safety.
• To undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

Role Overview:

Using your lived experience and recovery journey, you will work alongside other professionals to empower individuals to manage and improve their mental well-being, guiding them through their recovery process in a non-judgmental and supportive manner.

Key Duties:

• Participate in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.
• Work alongside fellow professionals
• To provide service users with structured 1:1 mentoring support,
• Utilise IT systems to record outcomes and share information
• Record sessions in the agreed format and in line with Living Well policies
• To attend individual case reviews and individual / group supervision, consistently reflecting and enhancing skills/knowledge
• Report any concerns about service users immediately to the Lived Experience Manager
• To cooperate with Lived Experience Manager, to work safely, to comply with health and safety instructions and information.

Are you passionate about putting an end to homelessness across Oxfordshire?

The Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance (the Alliance) is a group of organisations (Local government, A2 Dominion, Aspire, Connection Support, Elmore, Homeless Oxfordshire and St Mungo’s) that came together in 2022 to deliver single homelessness services across the county under one contract.

Services delivered by the Alliance include the city and county outreach services for people experiencing rough sleeping, supported accommodation such as the hostel O’Hanlon House, shared dispersed supported accommodation, and homelessness prevention services.

The Alliance is commissioned through a pooled annual budget of c£3.8m which all District Councils in Oxfordshire, the City Council, the County Council, and the Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Buckinghamshire Integrated Care Services, contribute towards. Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City are the lead commissioners of the Alliance. 

As part of the initiative, the Alliance will deliver an ambitious housing led change programme which is seeing services remodelled to support and enable people to live in their own homes and fulfil their aspirations. 

This role is hosted by Connection Support which is part of the Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance. The role will be guided by the work plan of both the alliance chair and the alliance commissioners.

The impact you will have

As the Oxfordshire Homelessness Alliance Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in making the alliance and the services it delivers a success. You will provide strategic and operational oversight and day to day leadership and management.

You will strive to improve the services that are delivered by working closely with the Alliance Leadership and Management Team, partners, commissioners, and organisations working to put an end to homelessness. Fostering and enabling a culture of continuous improvement will be at the heart of your work. 

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 30hrs to 37.5hrs per week

Salary: £42,322 - £47,949 per annum, dependent on experience. Please note that the salary displayed is the full time equivalent and will be prorated for less than 37.5 hours. 

Location: The role is a hybrid of home and office locations and a willingness and ability to travel and work at sites across Oxfordshire at least 2 days each week is essential.

About you

You have proven experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating change management programmes, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timeframes. You’re also confident in reporting on financial performance and using data to inform decision-making.

With excellent project management skills, you're passionate about working collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders. You bring solid knowledge of programme planning and monitoring frameworks such as MSP, APM, PRINCE2, or similar methodologies.

Your strong communication and influencing skills enable you to build effective relationships, inspire confidence, and drive innovation—all of which support the success and ongoing development of the Alliance Change Programme.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred; however, this is not essential as long as you are able to travel across Oxfordshire as required.

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.

The evaluation team designs and implements the processes which assess the evidence for the fund’s various funding rounds. The team is also responsible for assessing, appointing, monitoring and the quality assurance of complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.

As an integral member of our evaluation team, you will be part of making sure we make the best decisions about what we fund, design and execute the evaluations to learn from it about what works to prevent youth violence.

Key Responsibilities

The core of your job is to ensure that we commission and deliver high-quality evaluations so that we can find out the very best ways to prevent young people and children from becoming involved in violence.

As an Evaluation Manager, you will:

· Support the evaluation team to design and implement the processes for assessing the quality of evidence underpinning applications organisations make for funding.

· Provide recommendations on which applications should be approved for funding based on your assessment.

· Choose the best evaluation partner for each project.

· Lead the development of the evaluation design with grantees and evaluators.

· Review regular monitoring reports from evaluators and provide approval for payments, making sure their milestones are effectively achieved, and the work stays on budget.

· Serve as the main point of contact for the evaluation partner, providing a rigorous review and feedback on the report and ensuring that it is an accurate reflection of the learnings from the project.

· Support the evaluation team in the development of the principles and protocols we need to deliver robust and respected evaluations.

About you

You’re this sort of person who is:

· Committed to preventing young people and children from becoming involved in violence:You’re passionate about the impact of prevention and early intervention. You don't want your days to pass without making a difference.

· Experienced in evaluation: You have a strong knowledge and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies, including the ability to critically appraise the design of randomised control trials and related approaches.

· Really know what makes great research and quality evidence:  You can design and draft high-quality research proposals including the sample, measurement and analysis. You’re confident in assessing the quality of evidence that underpins interventions and can guide decisions on grant applications.

· An excellent communicator:You can produce technical documents that accurately report methodological and statistical information. You will combine this with experience of communicating complex evidence and analysis in a simple and accessible format to non-experts.

· Highly organised and likes working in a team:  You have excellent project and time management skills with the ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. You’re a valuable addition to any team by supporting others and working collaboratively. You’re flexible and able to work on your own initiative.

You may have, but they are not essential:

· Good knowledge and understanding of crime, serious violence or other relevant areas: This could include areas such as child development, parenting or children’s mental health from fields such as psychology, neuroscience or education research.

· Experience of commissioning evaluation or designing your own research: This includes managing research and analysis from external contractors. Experience designing and carrying out your own research would be an asset, as would experience in the ethical review process.

· Great quantitative analysis skills: This includes experience using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS

· Knowledge and understanding of intervention and prevention science

· Knowledge and experience of evidence synthesis: You know the different approaches and have carried out your own evidence synthesis projects.

About you and the role

The purpose of this role is to manage operational delivery of our School by School Programme, ensuring efficient and effective delivery. 

You will be supported by our Chief Innovation Officer, and manage our Chef Trainers delivering our School by School interventions. You will work closely with the Director of Partnerships & Impact, our School Engagement Manager and our Research Supervisor. 

Your role will oversee our School by School interventions, delivered across multiple school sites. This role will be primarily focused in London, but will include supporting schools in locations across the UK as we develop new hubs. You will be joining a dynamic and growing charity who are passionate about delivering exceptional training, skill sharing, expertise and know-how to advance the quality of food preparation, food service and food education in schools.

You will have an understanding of the context that we operate in, education and food sectors. You will have strong people skills, and the ability to manage effective partnerships with external organisations.

The responsibilities:

• To work with the Chief Innovation Officer to ensure that all programme delivery of school interventions is delivered in line with our vision, values and ethos.

• To support and manage our Chef Trainers to ensure that programme delivery is carried out in the most effective and efficient way.

• Coordinate and oversee all programme activities, including scheduling, logistics, and resource allocation.

• Managing the programme budget, identifying issues, and ensuring milestones are met. 

• Work closely with the Chief Innovation Officer, Director of Partnerships & Impact and the School Engagement Manager to assess, cost and propose suitable programmes of support for schools and multi-academy trusts interested in our School by School programme. 

• Working with the School Chef Educator and Membership teams on our regional expansion strategy, creating schools that are centres of excellence across the country.

• Working with the School Engagement Manager, attend and contribute to meetings with the Senior Leadership of prospective new schools and academies, developing proposals and financial forecasting.

• Liaise and manage relationships with the Senior Leadership in the schools and academies we work with, being the key contact for operational delivery of programmes. 

• To ensure that service level agreements are agreed with schools and that our delivery matches the agreements.

• To monitor costs of the programme delivery, reporting progress of programmes to the Chief Innovation Officer, identifying any risks or delays to programme delivery. 

• At all times to ensure that our school interventions are being delivered in a legally compliant, cost-effective way.

• Work closely with the Chef Trainers to ensure our advice to, and work in, schools is legally compliant.

• Support the Chef Trainers in monitoring legal safety compliance in schools, promptly flagging major concerns to the Chief Innovation Officer and where appropriate, the key school contact.

• Ensuring learning and evaluation is embedded in our programme delivery, working with the Chef Trainers to document best practice learnt from each programme. 

• To work alongside the Director of Partnerships & Impact and Research Supervisor to ensure that we’re collecting accurate and relevant data to measure our impact, evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the programmes, conducting regular assessments and measurements.

• Work with the Research Supervisor to support preparing reports on the impact of the School by School programmes, including statistical data, trends, and success stories. 

• Work with the School Engagement Manager to maintain accurate data records and ensure our contacts database is up to date with relevant chef, school lead and engagement information. 

• Collaborate with the Chef Trainers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of schools. 

Your skills and experience

You'll be the right person for this job if:

• You are passionate about food and believe in our mission to improve kids' health through improving food and food education in schools

• You have some experience in leading or managing a team within the food sector

• You have some experience working in a similar multi-site role 

• You have financial experience in the food sector - e.g. costing recipes, stocktaking, finding the best cost for ingredients. You’ll be comfortable with spreadsheets, monitoring financial costs, and producing financial forecasts

• You are organised, methodical, strong on detail, and able to map out deadlines and plan ahead

• You are able to engage effectively with senior leadership teams in educational settings, and are proactive and confident in addressing challenges

• You are an excellent writer and communicator with strong presentation and facilitation skills 

• You are skilled in building rapport with people and strike a balance between being supportive and challenging 

• You have experience working with various individuals and organisations, building relationships, and collaborating effectively to deliver successful projects

Policy & Insights Manager (Paediatric Workforce)

As Policy & Insights Manager, you will ensure the College has impact in influencing the future design and delivery of the child health workforce, by leading on a set of priority projects to promote the sustainability and protection of the child health workforce for future generations.

Working within the Workforce & Careers team, the Policy & Insights Manager will be key in supporting colleagues across multiple teams to ensure the College provides expert, evidence-based policy outputs that influences service planning, and promotes the needs of children and the workforce designed to care for them.

Keeping up-to-date with, including horizon scanning developments in, child health policy and NHS service planning, you will maintain an overview of emerging policy themes at national level and will develop a comprehensive engagement plan to ensure members, health service planners, providers and key decision makers in health across the UK are engaged in the advocacy of the child health workforce.

Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant experience in a similar line of work in health policy, NHS workforce planning or national advocacy, you will have evidence of understanding the critical role of data and service standards within healthcare design, delivery and workforce planning across the UK. 

With excellent project management and stakeholder management skills, you will have demonstrable experience of leading and influencing policy and/or advocacy evidenced by recent outputs relating to child health and/or health services.

This is a crucial and highly impactful role at the College as there are enduring, critical issues in the UK paediatric workforce with understaffed rotas and staff burnout against a backdrop of accelerating demand on acute paediatric services.

A formal project management qualification and experience in line management and/or leadership of a team, along with experience and knowledge of the children’s health sector, would be desirable.

The Workforce and Careers team has a pivotal role within the RCPCH Education and Training Directorate in using research, data and evidence to advocate for the child health workforce. Led by the RCPCH Workforce Planning Board and working closely with senior clinicians, the team oversee a portfolio of paediatric workforce and service configuration data that provides both local and national decision-makers with detailed data investigations, research reports and up-to-date information on key topics impacting paediatric services, such as rota gaps and waiting times. 

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health sets and maintains standards for the education and training of all doctors working in paediatrics and child health in the UK. The Role

• Manage and be accountable for implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards. 

• Be responsible for ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and window displays. 

• Be responsible for attracting and recruiting a team of new volunteers, ensuring they are well trained and take every effort to create a welcoming and happy environment. 

• Be responsible for ongoing volunteer training and engagement, ensuring the volunteer management system is actively kept up to date.

• Line manage the Deputy Shop Manager, working together to ensure there is management cover and sufficient volunteers to operate all trading hours. 

• Ensure accurate accounting and handling of assets (items donated and money received). 

• Be responsible for ensuring accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes. 

• Prepare and complete all shop administration including cash handling and banking functions to the highest standard, accurately and on time, always adhering to charity policy and procedures. 

• Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To ideally be educated to A-level or equivalent.

• To have experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• To have previous retail experience in the charity sector or commercial sector is desirable. 

• To have experience of meeting and exceeding targets within a retail environment. 

• To be highly organised with good time management skills. 

• To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• The ability or willingness to travel occasionally across the Yorkshire region for training and team meetings.

We are working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Bromley Mental Health Hub. This forms part of the transformation of mental health services in the London borough of Bromley under the NHS Long Term Plan. The service brings together the expertise of local primary, secondary and voluntary sector mental health care providers with the aim of providing flexible, holistic and integrated services for adults with mental health problems.

The integrated team provides brief intervention support to people with mental health problems within a primary care and community mental health setting, helping people develop their independence, self-management skills and achieve their recovery goals.

We have an exciting maternity cover opportunity for a full time Senior Peer Support Coordinator to lead on the development and delivery of mental health peer support in the Bromley Mental Health Hub. You will lead the team, which includes peer support staff and volunteers, and take responsibility for design, coordination and day-to-day delivery of recovery orientated peer support to people with mental health problems on a group and one to one basis.
