Would you like to help RSPCA Buckinghamshire South Branch raise money locally by moving stock between our two shops, taking excess stock to storage and collecting donations from local businesses?

If you have a valid driving licence, can spare 2-3 days a week, and live in or around South Bucks, you could support our vital work.

Our volunteer drivers get to meet a variety of RSPCA staff, volunteers, and animal care professionals in the South Bucks area. You'll also get a buzz knowing that your efforts are directly helping animals.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Stock and Donation Transport:
• Move stock between our two shops (Chesham and Burnham) and their storage facilities, as required by the Shop Managers.
• Collect and deliver donations from around South Bucks to our shops.
• Remove over-sized rubbish from the shops and take it to the Amersham dump.
• Pet Food and Supplies Delivery:
• Ensure there is sufficient stock in the RSPCA Pet Food Store.
• Plan and deliver food and litter to cat fosterers at regular intervals.
• Collect and deliver bedding for small animals on a regular basis.
• General Duties:
• Carry out ad hoc transport requests from the management team.
• Undertake appropriate training as directed by the management team.

The Skills You Need:

• Aged 18 or over with a valid driving licence, happy to drive our van.
• Ability to lift, carry and handle boxes, bags and other items, safely.
• Good communication, friendly with organisational skills.
• A careful and responsible driver.

Volunteers Facilitators for elop’s Training & Education Service
elop’s Training and Education Service delivers workshops; training programmes; and consultancy to professionals and organisations working with the LGBT+ community. As a specialist in LGBT+ Mental Health and Wellbeing, we want to raise awareness of the challenges faced by our community and help organisations become more LGBT+ inclusive and affirmative. Our training programmes get people talking, thinking and planning for change that makes a real difference to LGBT+ people’s lives.
All our volunteer facilitators must positively identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/ or trans (Schedule

Training Facilitator Volunteer Role Description

Over 60 donation centres receive and distribute 100’s of bags of stock every single week. All of these donations need to be lifted and shifted so they end up in the right shops - we don’t require a weightlifter, but you will be need to be physically fit to help move the many donations we receive.

As well as working up a sweat, our donation centres also sell a variety of stock which all need processing and putting on the shop floor. Making sure our shops look fantastic is another task you can get involved with. You may also be required to help out on the till once in a while, but we will show you how that works during your time volunteering with us. We value the contribution of everyone who supports Barnardo’s.

Seeking a Trustee Director for The Retreat Clinics.  We have delivered mental health treatment and care for over 200 years, and we are still governed by Quaker Values. We offer psychological therapies and assessments for Autism and ADHD, both online and from our home base in York and our offices in Manchester.

elop is an award-winning LGBT Mental Health and Wellbeing Charity with 29 years’ experience of supporting LGBT+ communities across London and Essex borders.

Joining our LGBT+ Volunteer team you will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team who value & appreciate the benefit of giving back to the community and enjoy the opportunity to work with others to raise much needed funds to support our work at elop.

Supported by staff or lead volunteers, our volunteer teams plan & deliver events, organise & host varied fundraising initiatives such as karaoke nights, drag bingo, and comedy events.  If you’re someone who enjoys talking to people and have a friendly disposition, then you’d be well placed to help us reach new audiences, promote our work, and raise money.

1. Organization Background

Our partner organization is a registered non-governmental organization operating in mainland Tanzania. Its vision is to build a community that upholds patriotism, peace, cooperation, equality, development, and awareness of climate change.

The organization’s mission is to promote public understanding of economic, social, cultural, and political issues through free platforms such as debates, mass media, online forums, blogs, conferences, and public dialogues with government officials.

Its main objectives include:

• Raising awareness about climate change, environmental conservation, peace, gender equality, and the negative effects of harmful traditional beliefs.

• Promoting understanding of the impacts of crime, terrorism, corruption, and inequality, while fostering leadership, unity, cooperation, and innovation.

• Encouraging knowledge of Tanzanian culture, the Swahili language, and the importance of strong governance across sectors.

• Empowering communities through the formation of peace, environmental, economic, social, cultural, and academic clubs in both rural and urban areas.

2. Purpose of the Assignment

Our partner organization seeks to engage volunteers to provide various forms of community service, including:
a) Teaching in primary and secondary schools.
b) Promoting environmental conservation skills.
c) Supporting healthcare for elders, children, and expectant mothers.
d) Assisting in orphanage care at children’s centers.

3. Scope of Work / Responsibilities

Volunteers will be responsible for the following tasks:
a) Collaborating with local teachers during classroom sessions.
b) Conducting training for target groups.
c) Supporting the care of elders, orphans, pregnant women, and school children.
d) Teaching pupils in primary schools (ages 5–12).
e) Teaching students in secondary schools (ages 12–16).
f) Assisting in workshops and community events.

i) Assisting with disease diagnosis and record-keeping.

By the end of their assignment, volunteers are expected to deliver:

5. Duration and Location

Volunteering periods range from one month to five years.
Volunteers will be placed primarily in Arusha Region (Northern Tanzania) and Dodoma Region (Central Tanzania).

6. Reporting and Supervision

Volunteers will report directly to the Program Director or their designated supervisor within the organization.

7. Qualifications and Skills

Eligible volunteers may include individuals with the following qualifications and skills:
a) Qualified teachers in subjects such as Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Civics, English, History, Chemistry, and Agriculture (secondary level).
b) Qualified teachers in Science, Mathematics, Civic and Moral Education, and English (primary level).
c) Individuals with computer skills (MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, programming, app design, and graphics).
d) Medical professionals (doctors, nurses, or health workers) experienced in diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, hepatitis, cancer, asthma, tuberculosis, malaria, and eye diseases.
e) Environmentalists and conservation specialists.
f) Social workers and community mobilizers.
g) Students or graduates from colleges and universities in related fields.
h) Experienced professionals willing to volunteer.
i) Volunteers aged 16 to 70 years.
j) Required documentation includes a valid passport, visa, health insurance, and a student or professional ID.
k) Volunteers are encouraged (but not required) to contribute personal teaching materials or medical tools where possible.
l) Food and transport costs are the responsibility of the volunteer unless otherwise agreed.

Talbot Village Trust is recruiting volunteers to help us maintain our historic woodland over Winter! 

This will include a variety of practical tasks, such as bramble bashing, invasive species removal and path maintenance. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn many employable skills relating to the Conservation industry. 

These sessions will also be a great opportunity to spend some time outdoors, and get involved with your local community! Sessions will tak eplace in Talbot Woods, being around 2 hours long. Crisis Podiatry Volunteers provide a range of treatments and advice for our guests. When you are homeless or insecurely housed, access to healthcare is challenging. 

As part of our preventative health work, you may provide general footcare advice and guidance. You may also treat corns and calluses, mycotic and gryphotic nails, blistering and maceration.

You will be volunteering at our Health & Wellbeing Day(s). These events are an opportunity for members to access a range of health & wellbeing services from the safety and comfort of our Skylight. All treatments are clothed. 

You will be part of a specialist volunteer team which may include: Hairdressers, Masseuses, Optical Care and GPs. 

Our training will show you what to expect when running sessions and the type of sessions that work best for our guests.

We want to ensure that volunteering with us does not feel too daunting, so the exact tasks might

vary depending on your circumstances. However, some typical tasks may include:

· Asking people you know who might be willing to have a collection box in their business

· Approaching local businesses to display the boxes and collect loose change from their customers

· Building and maintaining relationships with your box holders to inspire loyalty and encourage people to continue giving year after year

· Collecting the boxes in your area as and when required and taking to your YBTC contact

Founded in 2003 and originally named Andrea’s Gift and later Brain Tumour Research and Support

Across Yorkshire, Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity (YBTC) is Yorkshire and Humber’s leading

brain tumour charity. Offering practical, financial and emotional support to both adult and child

brain tumour patients, together with their families.

We fund brain tumour research in Yorkshire; we hope this research, dedicated to identifying new

approaches to the discovery and treatment of brain tumours, will improve outcomes for patients.

At YBTC we are a small team who are growing to meet the needs of those affected by a brain

tumour in Yorkshire. Around 15 new cases of primary brain tumour are diagnosed in the region

every week.

elop runs a programme of weekly and monthly LGBTQ+ social, support and wellbeing clubs, groups, meet-ups and events; provided by and for LGBTQ+ communities.

Joining our LGBTQ+ volunteer facilitator team you will be part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team who value & appreciate the benefit of face-to-face socialising & networking, supporting LGBT people to come together in a welcoming, safe and supportive environment with opportunities to meet new people, form new friendships, gain peer support and much more. 

Each of elop’s dedicated clubs, groups or meet-ups run planned activities that supports shared interaction, positive LGBTQ+ identities and a feeling of being valued.

Volunteering in this role will give you opportunities to contribute & support the planning & promotion of group programmes, help in organising & facilitating sessions, along with supporting & enabling the involvement, voice & inclusion of all members attending, ensuring a welcome, supported, safe and comfortable environment for all.

Our clubs, groups, meet-ups and activities are delivered on various days and times across the week and weekends, plus during the day and evenings, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. 

You may already have some previous experience of activity facilitation, which is fantastic; however it isn’t necessary to come with all the skills & experiences already on board, just a friendly or outgoing personality with good communication abilities, the rest you’ll be supported to develop. 

Respecting diversity, understanding and upholding professional boundaries and confidentiality are of course fundamental to all of our work and you will be required support this. 

What you can expect as part of Team elop is to feel proud of being part of our dynamic team & volunteer community, to develop confidence, have enjoyment and know your contribution really does make a difference.

We know life can be busy, but ask all group volunteers to make a 6 month minimum commitment or around 2-3 hours a week average.
