The opportunity:

We’re recruiting an Investment Manager to identify, assess and manage impact investment opportunities. You will also work with other teams to help develop the social impact investment market in the UK, working with investors, social enterprises and government.

What you will do:

Support the development of new investment opportunities, including:

• Helping identify social issues or market needs where social impact investment can be an important part of the solution;

• Helping develop creative and innovative solutions to these identified social issues including building collaborative partnerships with diverse stakeholders including investors, charities and government.

Lead prospective investments through our investment process, including:

• Project and relationship management, including supporting pipeline development and tracking;

• Undertaking detailed investment analysis, including of the market, the prospective investee, and the financial, social impact and systems change cases;

• Supporting the structuring of prospective investments;

• Preparing and presenting investment recommendations to our Investment Committee;

• Helping negotiate legal documents and close transactions.

This role will start in either our social lending & ventures areas with the potential to rotate across asset classes over time.

Manage a number of our existing portfolio investments, including:

• Working with the fund managers to evaluate and manage their financial and social impact performance;

• Supporting and co-ordinating fund manager reporting to enable us to assess the contribution of the investments to our systems change, impact and financial goals across our portfolio and in the relevant asset classes;

• Supporting the design and undertake of analysis on impact and financial performance across portfolios of investments, including across asset classes and impact themes.

Systems change agent:

• Supporting the development and delivery of key strategic projects in BSC’s asset classes and strategic areas of focus, moving towards leadership of strands depending on experience and learning over time

• Managing relationships with and help the long-term business development of fund managers

• Supporting our engagement work with investors and with charities and social enterprises to deliver on our strategic goals

We are seeking to appoint a UK Education Manager to join our small team which is based across our Bolton and London offices. This is a full-time, permanent post based in Bolton, working 37.5 hours a week (7.5 hours per day x 5 days per week).

JOB PURPOSE

The UK Education Manager provides operational leadership and supports strategic direction for BPNA’s UK education portfolio. The role is accountable for the short-course programme (about 36 courses per year), the annual conference, distance learning support, Instructor Training Day, new course development and faculty development. The post oversees budget responsibility for UK Education and Conference income, which together represent a substantial proportion of BPNA’s annual turnover.

This role is based at the Bolton office, where you will lead two of the BPNA Education team while working and liaising with the Education Content Co-Ordinator, based in the London office

The post-holder is an active member of the BPNA Secretariat Management Team, and serves as Secretary to the Education, Quality & Standards Committee and related steering groups. The role requires leadership, sound judgement and a hands-on, highly organised approach to complex programme delivery.

This role would suit an organised, efficient and practical person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good deal of common sense.  You will also have diplomatic skills and the ability to build good relationships.  You will need to be flexible, have an ability to problem-solve on-site and online, organise highly educated people whilst remaining calm and maintaining a sense of humour.

About This Job

This role provides maternity cover for the First Aid Manager within the Cadet Activity team and is responsible for overseeing the delivery and governance of first aid training across the Army Cadets. The post holder will ensure that first aid provision aligns with national governing body requirements, maintain qualification records on the Cadet MIS, and provide expert guidance to volunteers delivering training. The role also involves acting as an Internal Quality Assessor, supporting syllabus development, and promoting first aid provision both internally and externally. In addition, the position supports national training delivery, quality assurance, and the effective management of first aid activities, ensuring safe, consistent and high-quality training opportunities for cadets and volunteers across the UK.

The role of a Children and Family Worker will support children and young people under the age of 18 on a one-to-one basis in a confidential space. The role will deliver a wide range of interventions/ education though activities, such as games, arts and crafts and emotional wellbeing resources. The role will utilise a young person-centred approach, empowering them to explore situations which they feel they have little control over to support them to lead a safe, happy, and healthy life.

The role will work in partnership and liaise with other young people services throughout Buckinghamshire, to provide holistic support to young people accessing the service. We need to record information about what we do, so enjoying a bit of admin work and attention to detail is important, but most of the time you’ll be enjoying working with young people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives. You will be required to work flexibly across operational sites as required so must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car. About the role: 

• To holistically support CYP affected by parental substance misuse, using a range of interventions including group work, 1:1 work, whole family interventions, safety planning and safeguarding working closely and proactively with the family unit to support positive and sustainable outcomes.
• Identify families in conjunction with other agencies, who will benefit from a Think Family / Whole family approach, negotiating participation and engagement with the programme of care.
• Identifying and responding effectively to potential safeguarding issues. 
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to young people and the wider community. 
• Working with young people to support positive, holistic outcomes in relation to their health and wellbeing, enabling them to lead safe, healthy, and purposeful lives: reducing risk and increasing resilience

About you: 

• Experience of working with young people and knowledge of the issues they face 
• Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework
