Job Summary
As part of a wider Mission and Ministry Team, the Mission and Discipleship Trainer will equip and support lay ministers and all interested learners in their theological understanding, spiritual growth, and practical ministry skills. They will contribute to the teaching and worship life of the diocese, engaging with a breadth of Anglican traditions.There are three key aspects of the responsibilities in this role.
- The first is, in communication with the Mission and Discipleship Enabler, to develop more contextual and locally based training contexts for existing and emerging learning and training programmes to facilitate more accessibility for parishes and benefices for which the diocesan offices are less accessible. This will involve working with strategic places identified in the South, Southwest, and North of the diocese to implement the vision to establish ‘satellite’ training centres. Initially this will focus on BPP (Bishop’s Permission to Preach); BCM programmes (Bishop’s Commission for Mission); and introductory theology and discipleship programmes.
- The second is promoting discipleship and ministerial training through networking and intentional communications to accelerate efforts being made to equip a broader demographic of Christians with leadership skills in view of the diocesan and national Church of England vision and values to become ‘younger and more diverse’. This will involve working collaboratively with the Mission and Discipleship Enabler, the Young Vocations Team (team under development), and the Racial Justice Advisor, alongside other team members and also work with clergy to understand specific contexts of training needs arising. Success in promotions and ‘recruitment’ of more diverse Christians will require working with the COMs team to support effective use of social media to target younger audiences, facilitate fast updates of events, and identify opportunities for story sharing.
- Thirdly, there is a responsibility to oversee, grow, and develop the network of Children, Youth and Families ministers/workers. This will include responsibility for organising, hosting and, where appropriate, delivering training at these events, and overseeing the BCM in Children, Youth and Families work. Part of the work will also be to support specific CYF workers including, where helpful, visiting them on site to encourage and advise them in their work and put them in communication with the network for mutual ongoing support. It will involve keeping up to date with the national initiatives for CYF to facilitate a connected approach. An important development in this aspect of the role will be to help implement a vision for more collaborative work with the Education Team to promote and help facilitate close working between churches and schools across the diocese.
Key role requirements:
This is an office-based role, with the expectation to work for 2-3 days per week from home. The role will involve travel across the diocese, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
About you: We are seeking someone who can demonstrate the following background and experience:
- A BA (Hons) or equivalent in theology is essential. An MA or higher degree in theology is desirable. Excellent level of English both spoken and written.
- Demonstrated success in training, and supporting volunteer teams is essential.
- Experience in developing and maintaining digital learning environments and online resources is essential.
- Track record of evaluating learning outcomes and adapting training approaches based on participant feedback.
- Experience in teaching theology and facilitating worship across diverse Anglican traditions.

We’re looking for a dedicated and organised Skin Camouflage Practitioner Coordinator to help deliver our Skin Camouflage Service in South Wales
Job title: Coordinator Practitioner - Wales

Changing Faces are launching a brand-new pilot Skin Camouflage Service in South Wales. We’re looking for a dedicated and organised Skin Camouflage Practitioner Coordinator to help make it happen.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver in-person Skin Camouflage appointments, supporting people with visible differences
- Promote the service and build connections with local communities and health professionals
- Support the new service set-up, including clinics, documentation, and support the implementation of Welsh translations
- Coordinate and administrate appointments remotely and manage client enquiries
- Signpost clients to other Changing Faces services as needed

We are seeking a professional, empathetic individual with strong administrative skills and either experience or a talent in cosmetic artistry or colour matching. A background in nursing, therapy, or another healthcare role would be an advantage in the clinic-based environment.
Following training, the role will involve delivering one 6.5-hour weekday clinic per week. In this setting, you will provide Skin Camouflage colour matching, application, tuition, and guidance to individuals affected by a visible difference.
In addition, you will work 15.7 hours remotely across 2–3 weekdays. Working as an integral part of our Skin Camouflage team, administrating and co-ordinating a compassionate, professional service that makes a real difference in peoples lives.
Who We Are Looking For
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written, with first class communication skills to liaise effectively, clearly, logically, concisely and appropriately for the particular audiences. Additional fluency in Welsh would be desirable but not essential.
- Proven administrative ability, including the efficient use of administration systems, and confident use of the Microsoft Office suite, video conferencing tools, and CRM platforms (Salesforce experience is an advantage but not essential).
- Experience or natural talent in cosmetic artistry or colour matching, with an excellent eye for colour and visual detail.
- On clinic days; ability to lift and wheel camouflage kit (approximately 10KG). Ability to kneel, bend and hold cosmetic brushes to facilitate camouflage on differing body areas.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen empathetically and support vulnerable clients, while maintaining professional boundaries and emotional resilience.

Summary and key purpose
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
Your expertise and skills:
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
- Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns to engage and drive action from new and existing supporters.
- Manage our newly appointed fundraising agency, and in doing so, help deliver an ambitious appeal programme and income target.
- Review and develop operational plans for individual giving (including regular giving, in memory, digital fundraising and appeals) working to achieve agreed targets.

Purpose of job: To work with the Finance and Fundraising teams to provide excellent finance, CRM & other systems administration. CSAN is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference, tackling the root causes of poverty and injustice affecting people in England and Wales. We’re facing a steep rise in poverty and significant pressures on social, economic and church resources. At this time, the Church is called to raise a prophetic voice against poverty and the rhetoric of division and work for the building of a more just society.
In 2021, CSAN launched its strategy to extend the social mission of the Church in a post-COVID society. We are developing the infrastructure of the social action network of the Church in England and Wales, including new alliances for diocesan Caritas agencies, advocacy and migration. As our Senior Officer for Migration, you will help to raise awareness of migration issues from the perspective of Catholic Social Teaching and lead on our Ambassadors Programme against Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, as well as prepare briefings and campaign responses to Government legislation.
Over the last 20 years, CSAN has established a network of 50 diocesan and direct service charities, with a combined annual expenditure on social mission estimated at £400m, excluding the work of schools and religious congregations. Our members build up local community life in diverse ways, and many of them support individuals in difficulty, including with housing, prison and detention, social isolation, ill-health, violence, disability, employment, care, therapeutic and welfare support.
The key responsibilities of the Senior Migration Officer are:
1. To provide timely information to the CSAN team and the network on UK Government resettlement programmes and legislation on immigration.
2. To support CSAN’s work to improve public policy and practice on immigration, with compelling evidence from our network, and enabling effective participation in advocacy for a humane system.
3. To work closely with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales on issues of migration and human trafficking.
4. To lead the implementation of the Gubay-
funded CSAN Ambassadors against Human Trafficking programme, preparing and delivering programme materials.
5. To support cross-cutting key workstreams and alliances in CSAN, especially the Domestic Abuse alliance and racial justice, in partnership with the Bishops’ Conference.

The Role
Reporting to the Retail Development Manager, the Retail Development Officer will support with the continued growth and development of our retail network.
The role holder will actively support the Retail Development Manager to build, deliver, and implement a pipeline of new sites development in retail, including shops, cafes and superstores, Yorkshire Cancer Research Centres, and other retail related projects.
You will have responsibility of supporting the Retail Development Manager with market analysis and feasibility studies of potential new sites, contributing to the development of business cases, projects plans and delivery of these plans as well as contributing to compliance and ongoing maintenance and required improvements within the retail real estate. There will also be an opportunity for the role holder to inform future decision making through the delivery of business insight, KPI data and other metric reports relating to income.
Specifically, you will:
New Developments in Retail

Support the Retail Development Manager in exploring and identifying the best locations for new shop openings, including market analysis, feasibility study, site visits, and site presentation.

Assist in developing business cases for each new shop, ensuring they are financially viable and key decisions are documented.

Support the development of project plans for shop openings, closures, and refits by ensuring suppliers, tradespeople and internal stakeholders are engaged and informed of key dates.

Maintain and nurture relationships with appointed property agents to develop a pipeline of potential new shops.

Support where possible the recruitment process for new shop managers and volunteers and ensure this is complete in time for each new shop opening.

Work alongside the Retail Development Manager to identify new suppliers, ensuring they are suitable, competent, and aligned to our values.

Work closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure new shops are in good condition and compliance documents are in place before being handed over to operate under business-as-usual activities.

Work collaboratively with the Retail Area Manager, with regards to monitoring compliance with retail policies and procedures, as well as Health & Safety standards.

Act as a visible leader in relation to all health and safety responsibilities, taking reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others. Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements, processes and procedures.

Assist as a contact for leasing and tenancy negotiations and discussions with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Support the Retail Development Manager in developing and testing new income streams, processes, and systems before moving to business-as-usual activities.

Undertake regular shop visits/shop floor inspections, directing and supporting the team to deliver creative and inspiring layouts, space planning and use of point of sale to ensure that each shop maximises its sales potential, and that the visual presentation of the shops represents the brand image of Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Retail Estate Development

Support the Retail Development Manager, Retail Area Manager, Director of Retail & Operations, and Shop Managers in regularly reviewing our current retail estate, identifying maintenance and other improvements required.

Assist in developing business cases for each project, ensuring they are financially viable and key decisions are documented.

Support development of project plans for refurbishments and improvements by ensuring suppliers, tradespeople and internal stakeholders are engaged and informed of key dates.

About You

Purpose
The Philanthropy Leads, reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, are responsible for inspiring new prospective, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors into greater involvement with Christians Against Poverty. They aim to draw supporters closer to the work we do, deepening their relationship and support of CAP. Income from CAP¿s major donors is vital for the future expansion of CAP in the UK.
Each Philanthropy Lead may be allocated one or more area of Philanthropy engagement in order to specialise in, but will be expected to support in any area as required. Such areas include:

Responsibilities
- Strategic Implementation & Fundraising
- Implementation of a strategic plan to significantly increase major donor income, with a target of 17.5% of overall revenue within 3 years.
- Implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy for major donor income, aligned with CAP's overall strategic priorities.
- Execution of market research and competitor analysis to identify new funding opportunities and best practice in Philanthropic fundraising.
- Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, in order to identify points of engagement and draft appropriate funding bids.
- Represent CAP at high-level events and conferences to build relationships with potential donors and partners.
Major Donor Development
- Manage a designated caseload of high-net-worth individuals or trusts, cultivating deep and meaningful relationships.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, personalised communications, and bespoke stewardship plans to cultivate and steward major donors.
- Develop compelling restricted funding projects to attract major donor investment.
- Implement a donor recognition program to acknowledge and celebrate major donor support.
Philanthropy Team Membership
- A member of the Philanthropy Team of our Mission and Movement Directorate.
- Providing peer support and development with other members of the Philanthropy Team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
- Work with the Head of Philanthropy to set ambitious targets and KPIs for the postholder, ensuring they are aligned with overall fundraising goals.
- Ensure the timely submission of funding applications and effective stewardship of grant and donor relationships.
- Implement robust systems and processes for donor relationship management, data analysis, and performance tracking.
Impact & Reporting
- Ensure that the CRM is updated with engagements, proposal submissions and engagement plans in a timely fashion.
- Develop compelling narratives and impact reports that effectively communicate the impact of major donor support.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of fundraising efforts and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular updates on fundraising progress to the Head of Philanthropy.
Innovation & Best Practices
- Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in major donor fundraising.
- Implement innovative fundraising strategies, such as engaging new philanthropists, digital engagement, corporate engagement and high-impact events.
- Evaluate philanthropy activities with the rest of the team and the Fundraising Insight & Innovation team to develop a deeper understanding of supporters and identify new prospects, making data-informed decisions.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Philanthropy Team.
- Create opportunities for supporters to engage at a senior level and deepen their relationship with CAP, working with the CEO and other senior staff.
Communications & Campaign Management:
- Plan philanthropy initiatives that in order to produce excellent bids, proposals, events, and reports, delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with the Brand and Digital Engagement teams to align messaging and campaigns.
- Ensure philanthropy plans align with brand guidelines and fundraising regulations.
Measurable Outputs:
- Implementation of an annual philanthropy plan that contributes to the wider long-term fundraising strategy.

- Major Donor income

- Corporate income

- Number of major donor prospects engaged and converted to a managed relationship

Skills required
- A proven fundraiser who can inspire, influence and deliver results
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, particularly in securing philanthropic support and building partnerships
