We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Volunteer Administrator to help amplify our impact. In this role, you'll be instrumental in supporting the team in organising our programmes, delivering hope, empowerment, and practical help to communities across the UK.

Your Role:

• Respond to emails and help manage correspondence

We are seeking a dedicated Volunteer for IT & Systems Setup to help us establish the fundamental technological systems we need to launch and grow. Who We're Looking For

We need a practical and solutions-oriented individual with a solid understanding of IT systems and data management. You'll likely possess:

• IT Generalist Skills: Experience with setting up and managing basic office IT infrastructure, including software, hardware, and networks.

• Cloud & Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with platforms like Google Workspace (G Suite) or Microsoft 365 for email, document sharing, and team collaboration.

• Database/CRM Understanding: Knowledge of how to set up or advise on a simple CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system for managing beneficiary and volunteer data.

• Data Security & GDPR Awareness: A clear understanding of data protection principles (GDPR) and how to ensure compliance in system setup.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify technological needs and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.

Your Role as IT & Systems Setup Volunteer

In this critical set-up phase, you will be instrumental in:

• Systems Recommendations: Advising the Board on essential IT infrastructure, software, and tools needed for initial operations (e.g., email, file storage, communication platforms).

• Data Management Planning: Helping to define how beneficiary, volunteer, and donor data will be securely collected, stored, and managed, ensuring GDPR compliance.

• CRM/Database Setup Guidance: Researching and recommending appropriate systems for tracking interactions with young people, mentors, and partners, and potentially assisting with initial setup.

• Collaboration Tool Implementation: Setting up shared drives, team communication channels, and other tools to facilitate efficient internal collaboration.

• Security Best Practices: Advising on basic cybersecurity measures and data protection protocols to safeguard sensitive information.

• Initial Tech Support: Providing guidance and support during the initial setup of accounts and systems for the core team.

• Hardware/Software Advice: Offering recommendations for essential equipment and software licenses.

The Brompton Fountain is a children's charity working with those impacted by heart and lung conditions in Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals. Our charity provides a wide range of vital resources, services, parent/carer amenities, and accommodation. We also fund medical equipment, facilities improvements and projects outside of the NHS remit. We are currently looking for a Fundraising and Events Volunteer to help our organisation . 

We would like the volunteer to help with:

• Stewardship at events to help families and guests.

• Supporting staff with admin at these events so that processes run smoothly.

• Communicating with families and guests who may share personal stories related to the charity. Feeling comfortable and confident to speak to people about our charity and what we do.

• Organising resources for fundraising and event days e.g care packs, running shirts, signage.

You will be supporting our Community Lead and Fundraising Officer who will provide an overview of our existing processes and be there to help you every step of the way. The Brompton Fountain has a strong team of staff and volunteers who you will be working collaboratively with as a team to support the families we are in contact with.

Your input will greatly affect not only the current impact of the charity and how we are able to support the families who need our services, but the longevity and outreach of our work by committing yourself to fundraising for our cause. 

Criteria

We are looking for a volunteer who:

• Does not need prior experience, passion and confidence are far more important!

• Is a great communicator and loves talking to people.

• Is confident and able to be proactive.

• Is flexible and adaptive.

• Is able to partake in physical labour e.g putting up gazebos and carrying around packages for events.

• Has attention to detail.

• Has the ability to drive or access travel around London and South-East as large/many items will be needed at events. 

• Is an empathetic person who is willing to have discussions with families around topics like health issues, additional needs, and bereavement.

• Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these.

• Is willing to have an enhanced DBS check.

• Is willing to partake in safeguarding training.

• Is willing to partake in onboarding training to understand our charity and the mission in more detail.

• Must be over 18.

Location

Whilst we are based at Royal Brompton Hospital, Sydney St, London SW3 6NP, your role will mainly be off site at different locations around London and the South-East to help at fundraising and community events.

Time

Due to our mission, we would greatly appreciate at least 6 weeks of your time, preferably more. This role would not be a set day a week, but rather be for fundraising and event days. These days would normally be Saturdays and Sundays, averaging once a month. We are an understanding and flexible organisation, and would be happy to discuss options with you.

Mary's Living & Giving for Save the Children is unique - a vibrant result of the generous gifts of local individuals and companies being turned around by the skills and passions of volunteer teams, to create a destination retail experience. Selling womenswear, menswear, shoes, and bags to household goods, our shops can be found in the London villages and bring in vital funds for Save the Children.

Our Wandsworth Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Overview

In partnership with a second, and possibly third Leader, you will lead a Fire (Group) of 8-12 Young Explorers. The Knowledge Leader should combine science and creative activities to help Young Explorers better understand the unique wilderness they explore, and develop curiosity for the future. To achieve this, it is the responsibility of the Senior Knowledge Leader, Knowledge Leaders and the collaboration of all leaders to design and deliver a programme of inspirational, educational projects.

We are looking for applicants who are:

• Able and passionate about leading, inspiring, and facilitating sessions with young people.
• Comfortable spending extended periods in remote and sometimes harsh environments.
• Able to commit to all pre-expedition training events. 

As a charity, all Leader positions are undertaken on a voluntary basis and Leaders join for the intrinsic value of adventure, education, and personal development of young people. You do not have to fundraise to lead on our expeditions.

Thank you for your interest in the role of Trustee of 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO. 

Since launching in March 2016 we have worked with over 10,000 young people across the UK, delivering fun, engaging and dynamic workshops and programmes to inspire young people to become the best version of themselves. Following a period of growth and reflection, we are embarking on the journey to establish our own charity.

The new charity will become a platform for us to grow our reach and impact, delivering more transformational programmes for young people.

We are looking for exceptional candidates to join our Trustee Board, providing strategic guidance and oversight during this crucial transition.

Trustee Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and provide advice on 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s purpose, vision, goals and activities. 
• Approve operational strategies and policies, and monitor and evaluate their implementation.
• Oversee 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress. 
• Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.
  • Contribute to regular reviews of 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s own governance. 
  • Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.
• Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.
• Harness personal and professional networks to support our fundraising strategy.
• Keep abreast of changes in 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s operating environment.
• Use independent judgement, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third party interests.
• Contribute to the broader promotion of 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO’s objectives, aims and reputation by applying your skills, expertise, knowledge and contacts.
• Jointly with other Trustees, to hold the charity ‘in trust’ for current and future beneficiaries.

Support

• 2-3 Degrees Legacy CIO is committed to developing and supporting our Trustees throughout their time on the Board, from initial induction to training and mentoring.

Time commitment

• Trustees are volunteers. You should be able to commit at least half day a month (4 hours) to support the work of the charity. This will include keeping abreast of the work of the charity through reading staff reports and attending Trustee Board meetings four times a year, responding to emails and providing advice and support to staff as necessary. In addition, you should be able to attend at least one full Board Development Day per year.

• Alongside this, Trustees are expected to have a passion for the 2-3 Degrees mission and engaging with young people, this should be reflected (but not limited to) attending a minimum of 2 workshops per year to stay engaged with the impact of the organisation and its key events. 

Term of office

• Trustees are appointed for a three-year term of office.

Pedal Away is a community-based cycling scheme that enables people to ride, regardless of their age, ability or cycling experience. We have Pedal Away Cycle Hubs at a limited number of locations which will allow you to realise your passion for all things two-wheels. Our Pedal Away rides are pitched at a level so that anyone can join in no matter how long it's been since you were last on a two-wheeled bike. They are social rides aimed to turn people from beginner to independent and confident cyclist, away from traffic and are led by experienced ride leaders.

We’re seeking a trustee with finance experience to join our board. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead Big LeafFoundation in the next phase of its development and to use your skills and experience to make a lasting difference to the lives of displaced young people in Surrey.

We are seeking an individual with:

o financial management experience;

o commitment to our vision, mission and values;

o excellent teamwork and leadership skills and effective decision-making;

o willingness to commit time and effort to the role;

o good, independent judgement, strategic vision and ability to communicate ideas;

o history of impartiality, fairness and commitment to promoting equality and diversity;

o charity sector experience (preferred)

Duties of a trustee with finance experience

○ Chair the Finance and Fundraising sub-committee of the Board.

○ On behalf of the Board, to oversee the production of Big Leaf Foundation’s annual budget, management accounts and annual financial statements.

○ Provide advice, scrutiny and support to the finance coordinator and Board.

○ Act as the Board lead on scrutiny of financial strategy and risk.

○ Ensure that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.

○ Advise on the financial implications of the organisation’s strategic plans.

The statutory duties of a trustee are to:

○ Ensure the organisation complies with its governing document.

○ Ensure that the organisation pursues its objectives as defined in its governing document.

○ Ensure the organisation applies its resources exclusively in pursuance of its objectives – the charity must not spend money on activities which are not included in its own objectives, no matter how 'charitable' and 'worthwhile' those activities are.

○ Contribute actively to the Board of Trustees' role in giving strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.

○ Safeguard the good name and values of the organisation.

○ Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation.

○ Ensure the financial stability of the organisation.

○ Protect and manage the property of the organisation and to ensure the proper investment of the organisation's funds.

○ If the organisation employs staff, to appoint the Chief Executive Officer and monitor his or her performance.

Children and Families Across Borders protects children who have become separated from their families across international borders. As the UK member of the International Social Service network, our specialist team inter-country social workers, work with over 130 partners around the globe to reunite families. Our work is complex but life changing.

CFAB is creating an Experts by Experience Advisory Group and is looking for people to join and support our work. The purpose of our engagement would be to would be to embed the voices and insights of individuals with direct and personal experience of aspects of our work into the service design and decision-making processes within CFAB. We believe that the insights and input from those with experience of our work will help to ensure that our services, our strategies and our messaging are grounded in real needs and experiences rather than assumptions and ultimately lead to better outcomes for children.

We would consider individuals with direct, personal experience of international kinship care, international adoption, alternative care, international migration and asylum as experts by experience.

Requirements:

The Advisory Group will meet twice per year (either remotely or in person) and there will also be opportunities to feed in and participate in other ad hoc projects.

Experts by Experience will:

• Provide advice and recommendations on policy, program design, and delivery.
• Review and contribute to strategic documents, reports, and evaluations.
• Identify opportunities for co-production and co-design within the organization.
• Act as advocates and champions for the integration of lived experience.
• Ensure diverse experiences are represented and inform inclusive practices.

Though this is a voluntary role, your participation will be compensated. Expenses will also be covered in line with CFAB’s expenses policy.

We will ensure we offer pre and post meeting support to experts to identify and reflect on any issues that require processing.

We will provide training to support your skills development based on the opportunities you would like to be involved with. We will share with you the impact of your participation on our work.

We’re passionate about what we do, and love giving second-hand clothing a chance of going to a good home. Our shop teams are key to raising vital funds for our work and act as incredible advocates for the rights of children both in the UK and around the world.

Volunteering in the shop

Our Northallerton Shop Volunteers are in the middle of it all, and there’s plenty to get involved with. You might be sorting and pricing stock, engaging with customers, ringing items through the till, creating fantastic window displays or keeping our shop floor looking organised.

It’s up to you how much you commit. We have volunteers who support for a couple of hours a week and some do more. Many people volunteer either a morning or an afternoon each week - this is something that will be discussed at the selection stage, after you’ve applied.

Skills and experiences we seek

We welcome applications from people with a wide range of skills and experiences. You don’t need any retail or shop experience as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is that you are a team player, open to learning and to follow our policies as well as be an excellent representative for Save the Children. 

We know that our shop teams are stronger when they are inclusive and representative of their communities. Everybody can make a real difference. People come to us for all sorts of reasons, from all backgrounds, and we will do what we can to find a role that works for you.

What happens next?

After you’ve filled in an application, we will invite you for an informal trial shift. It’s a great opportunity to visit the shop, meet some of our existing volunteers and have a go at some of the tasks that you would be supporting with as a shop volunteer. Hopefully allowing you to get a feel for the role and make sure it’s for you. We also ask for a couple of references (these don’t have to be formal workplace ones, just someone who has known you for over 6 months and isn’t related).
