About the role

We are seeking an experienced CEO to lead us into the next phase of growth, driving our mission forward with vision and passion. Working with the Board of Trustees and the Senior Leadership Team, we're looking for someone to provide strategic leadership, ensure financial sustainability and to oversee the charity's operations whilst preparing us for our next phase of development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide vision and leadership for the charity
• Support the charity's fundraising strategy, securing funding through grants, donations, and partnerships
• Act as the public face of the charity, advocating for its cause and engaging with stakeholders
• Foster partnerships with other charities, businesses, and community organisations
• Have overall responsibility for the financial management of the charity
• Assist the board with its decision making and strategic direction for the charity's long-term sustainability

Who We're Looking For:
You'll be an inspirational and tenacious leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on implementation. Resilient and adaptable, you'll thrive in a dynamic environment and be able to demonstrate perseverance and flexibility. You'll be a strong communicator and relationship builder, persuasive and articulate. Commercially and financially literate, you'll have a compassionate and values-led approach to leadership. Ideally, you'll have experience in fundraising, specifically developing corporate partnerships.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams at CEO or similar level
• Strategic thinker and problem solver
• Delivery and execution of strategic plans
• Experience of working effectively with a Board of Trustees
• Proven experience in budget setting and financial management, reporting to funders and Trustees
• Understanding of Charity law and regulations, governance requirements, and reporting standards

About the role

At the Motability Foundation we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose. We oversee the Motability Scheme and provide grants to help people use it, providing access to transport to hundreds of thousands of people a year. We award grants to other charities and organisations who provide different types of transport, or work towards making transport accessible. We also carry out ongoing research, in partnership with disabled people and key stakeholders in the industry, to inspire innovations that continue to champion accessible transport for all.

This role is an exciting new opportunity to shape and deliver on Motability Foundation’s aims to become more insights led and to systematically involve disabled people in our decision making. You will support the Head of Insight and Evaluation in providing the organisation with insight drawn from existing research, primary research, business data and through user insight. The role will lead development of a user insight approach and clear mechanisms to involve disabled people in the Foundation’s decisions systematically. The role will establish a user insight research community (akin to a customer panel but broader in scope), which the organisation can draw from for user insight.

The role is also responsible for delivering a strategic research and insight plan for the organisation to inform operational and strategic decisions, including feeding into our strategy mid-term review. Others in the organisations will also carry out research and hence this function has a role in setting standards for quality research, a coordinating role in ensuring a cross-organisational understanding of ongoing research to avoid duplication, and to draw insights and disseminate these to relevant internal and external audiences.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the head of team by developing a strategic insight research plan.
• Lead the delivery of the insight research plan, including developing clear research briefs, working with external suppliers to deliver research and where appropriate deliver research in-house.
• Establish a user insight capability in line with good practice and mature this capability over time.
• In collaboration with key internal customers, establish a framework for when and how to engage with disabled people regarding decisions.
• Develop and set standards for good quality research and insight for the organisation, including ensuring disabled people can fully and equitably participate in research/user insight exercises.
• Ensure that planned research and insight generation by the insight function is completed to a high standard, aligned with good practice.
• Set up and lead a cross-organisational research forum and ensure this mechanism is effective in avoiding duplication and creating alignment.
• Lead development and implementation of a communications plan to ensure insight generated reaches the right internal and external audiences.
• Ensure a framework to monitor and evaluate the usefulness and impact of insight generated is in place.
• Ensure all research carried out by the function meets GDPR requirements.
• Line-manage and develop your line-report(s).
• Be ‘hands on’ as necessary, by leading and delivering research personally.

What will make you great in this role?

The insight capability is a new function in the organisation and as a result this role will lead on its development over time. This presents great opportunities and will require an individual who is comfortable with starting things anew, while delivering on insight requirements and shaping the function along the way.

Your experience

Must haves:

• Experience of delivering user insight and/or running customer/consumer panels and/or working with supporter panels.
• Ability to design and develop research programmes and have highly developed analytical skills.
• Highly developed ability to work collaboratively with other teams across the organisation.
• Exceptional written and oral influencing skills, including the judicious use of data and the compelling presentation of insights, through engaging reports, infographics, and dashboards.
• Relevant qualification in an analytical discipline such as social sciences, economics or evidence of significant relevant professional experience.
• Experience managing research projects or commissioning external consultants.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Line and/or team management experience.

We feel that experience of setting up and/or managing consumer, customer or supporter panels is relevant. However, please note that as a Foundation we do not fundraise and as such are not looking to develop a supporter panel.

Nice to haves

• Experience of disability inclusive research – this is essential to the role. However, we will ensure appropriate training for those who do not have these skills.
• Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools (e.g., MAXQDA, R) and data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI).
• Proven quantitative and qualitative research skills and familiarity with working with large datasets.

Reporting lines and relationships

Reports to: Head of Insight and Evaluation.

Key relationships: Heads and programme managers in Charitable Operations, Head of Communications team and relevant managers, Policy team colleagues and over time other teams across the organisation looking for (user) insight. Relationships with external agencies and suppliers.

Direct reports: Initially 1 direct report in the form of a Research Manager with plans for a further junior role to be added to the team in future years.

Extra Information

• The role is based In Harlow, Essex at Motability’s offices, easily commutable from London, 30 minutes from Liverpool Street station or 18 minutes from Tottenham Hale station. We offer a shuttle bus from the Harlow Town train station to the office.
• We offer flexible and blended working within this role. The Insight and Evaluation team ordinarily works a minimum of two days a week from the office.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated, proactive and excellent communicator to help our major donors achieve their philanthropic goals through their relationship with Rainbow Trust.

Reporting to the Major Donor and Trusts Manager, this newly created role, in our expanding team, will help manage and cultivate relationships with high-net-worth individuals as part of our major gift programme. The Major Gifts Fundraiser will be responsible for reaching new donors and increasing sustainable income growth, contributing to driving our key fundraising campaigns and events, and will also manage a small portfolio of donors.

Campbell Rd Young Peoples service provides support and housing for 55 young people in Tower Hamlets that are either leaving care of affected by youth homelessness. The Support Worker role will be to manage a caseload of approx 7-10 young people.

Battersea's Global Programmes Department are looking for a passionate individual to join the team as Grants and Programmes Associate.

The Grants and Programmes Associate will support the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea, focusing on the UK portfolio. About the role

· Assist the Fundraising department in planning and delivering national and large-scale fundraising activities.

· Assist the Individual Giving Manager in the coordination and delivery of fundraising campaigns and initiatives including our annual Christmas Appeal, ensuring they are executed effectively and efficiently.

· Support the delivery of digital fundraising activities in line with the Fundraising Strategic Framework.

· Support the administration of the individual giving fundraising programme in collaboration with the wider team.

· Assist the Head of High Value and Individual Giving Manager to administer donor support communications.

· Ensure all donors are thanked in a timely manner via e-mail and letters and accurately recorded on our CRM.

· Maintain and update supporter and donor records within the CRM database ensuring they are accurate.

· Support the refinement of systems and processes to enhance donor experience.

· Serve as the first point of contact for Community Fundraising, including emailing and posting fundraising packs and providing fundraising guidance and advice.

· Maintain and develop our low to mid-level Trust and Foundation income, delivering applications and reporting using our Case for Support.

· Respond to general enquiries received over the phone and through the fundraising and general enquires inboxes.

· Liaise closely with colleagues across the charity to support the development of fundraising collateral and materials for fundraising activities.

Job Description  

Reporting to the Head of Income Generation and Fundraising, we are looking for someone with a passion for helping vulnerable young people to achieve their potential and who is excited by playing their part in raising funds towards our £1 million target. Working in our small Income Generation Team, you will have responsibility for writing compelling proposals and reports that showcase the impact of our work. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with current and potential funders, building and stewarding our restricted income pipeline which you will own.

We are looking for someone with a strong track record of securing funding, preferably within the youth, sport for development or health & wellbeing sector. Strong attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

Key responsibilities  

Fundraising and business development  

• Write compelling funding proposals and cases for support, from £5000 to £100,000s

• Own and grow Trusts and Grants pipeline, identifying and researching new funding opportunities 

• Cultivate and steward relationships with new and existing funders

• Represent Trust at programmes, events, funder meetings

Relationship Management 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential funders

• Ensure effective communication with funders, providing high quality reports and updates 

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure funded projects deliver maximum, demonstratable impact in line with funder expectations

Managing systems and processes 

• Create a calendar of opportunities for grant submissions, ensure application deadlines are met

• Maintain accurate and up to date funder records in Trust’s CRM system, Salesforce 

• Maintain efficient systems for tracking applications and reporting

• Work closely with Senior Finance Manager to ensure restricted income is accurately forecasted and updated accordingly

We will offer a salary of between £29,000 and £34,000 depending on experience for a 36-hour week. Ideally you will be a full-time employee but we are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE). This post will be offered as a permanent contract.
